It's difficult for me to describe in words but the romantic, soft and gentle voice of Tong Li has embeded a feeling of deeper love and affection in me towards my dearest wife, especially when she sings along with Tong Li. I have purchased our favourites from ITunes and can't stop playing them.
her voice is really unique today...i dont think many other chinese singers can or willing to sing the way she does. Sounds like 鄧麗君 but still different. And 周旋 is uniquely different.
I think she really give a authenthic Chinese and Oriental flavor to Chinese pop music. Her songs taste like authentic Chinese foods, while most others are like Westernized Chinese foods produced in by Chinese restaurants in the country sides of USA or Canada. I hope she will revolutionize Chinese pop music oneday. One just cannot become great by acting as 2nd or 3rd rated copy cats.
@fookonut Your argument 'tastes' like westernized Chinese food, as well. You sound like an American who learns Chinese and thinks he's so much better than everyone else, even the Chinese themselves! A Chinese person singing a song that is "western" does not mean they are not authentic. So in your opinion, Chinese can only use guzheng and pipa, and westerners can only use pianos and guitars? Ha! You ignorant, racist asshole. I'm sorry the whole world cannot live up to your misguided ideals.
They have different styles, Teresa Tang's song's are all mid-range and easy to sing for Karaoke, her songs are truly beautiful, nevertheless both great singers. Tong Li finally does Zhou Xuan some justice.
Her voice brings me back 20 yrs when my world was filled with innocent love; holding hands; sharing an umbrella in the rain; love letters..... ahhh! so sweet and so sad for me.
Some think its pop.Its folk.For me the most important is that i hear here wonderful, touching, sweet music.Thank You for sharing EHT123

童丽 can sing 邓丽君 songs and I may even have hard time distiguish the difference! :)
