@zaxterry Lol. Yuck! This species can't fly. It has no wings. There are similar species with wings, though.

@clockty08 They do best with veggies, fruit, and a protein source like good quality dog food. I also give them snacks once in awhile like a small piece of bread or pizza crust.

@ShagadelicAbby The roaches don't smell at all. Of course you have to keep their tank clean or it will eventually start to smell :)

@88976hi They definitely hiss when they're mad! Also as a threat, when scared, and sometimes at random. Once in awhile the whole colony will hiss for no apparent reason. That's creepy! Lol.

@ferni1023 I rescued them from a crappy pet store. They had moldy food, no water and were shoved behind another tank. They said they weren't selling well so they just put them out of the way. I offered them a few bucks and took them home to save them. I've got plenty now that I sell.

@Desean131 A lot of people raise roaches for food. I try to sell my excess roaches because I don't like killing any animals. They reproduce so fast though that sometimes I can't sell them or give them away fast enough to keep the population under control so once in the while my foxes get one.

how do you breed these?

@iGetDrugTested They're very easy to breed. You have to keep them warm because when it gets cold they stop. You also need to feed them well- veggies, fruit, good quality dog food. I sell them cheap if you need a starter group, or some pet stores sell them. Best to have several females per male.

those are cute bugs. in reality pest roaches are afraid of humans and run away. On the other hand the hissing roaches are docile and mean no harm. the babies look cool and tiny.

They can't hurt you at all. They aren't creepy little house roaches, they're really fascinating.. We just had babies this morning. They're born white and turn brown in a few hours. Really interesting to watch. :)

If you dont clean their cage they smell, and to breed them offer the male about 5 females and a tight space.

Mine don't smell but I imagine they would if you don't keep their tank clean. Lol. I have 2 adult males and 2 adult females (not the ideal mix, but that's what was in the tank we bought) and they mate very well as long as the temperature's warm enough. :)
