surprised you found enough snow for that cave! was the road opened at that time because Im planning on heading up there during winter and camp overnight.

this was a few winters ago, maybe 2006. I did that trip as part of a class at CSUN where we went backpcking and snowshoeing for 3 days. There was so much snow the road wasnt plowed actually until late in the day. around 3 or so.
once the road was open, it led up the hill to dead end into a large square open parking lot. from there our group hiked in for a few hours.
