Some stans use her lipped notes in vocal battle and claim that she's better than anyone based on her studio vocals (since 1997). I don't see the point of this video though cause the problem isn't Mariah lipping after her prime. The problem is they some of her stans act.
There is no "true" Mariah Carey; there is only what actually is. Mariah pre-1996 is not coming back, because A) her voice has changed (as it has happened with many great singers) and B) her style has changed (as many artists have done throughout such a long career). That said, I would rather Mariah modify her live renditions to suit her voice than to lip-synch what is not or can't be achieved outside a studio setting OR dub her "live" tour dvd's! (I don't want fake sh!t, I want the real thing.)
To be fair 2004-2007 was great vocally with the emancipation of mimi. She wasn't lipsynching as often as she is now or was in 1999-2003. Her Adventures of mimi tour had amazing vocal moments. Who cares???I care, I'm a fan of real live music, and I'de rather hear Mariah's changing the key of the song or her imperfect vocals than her lipsyncing to the studio vocals which is boring to hear, totally tricky and lost the real feeling of a live performance. Where is the excitement, when you know the climax of the song is always gonna be lipsync.
