Thanks very much for your message. I also have such fantastic memories from my April ,06 trip to Tokyo. I loved our return daytrip to Kyoto and our one night stay at the Fujyia Hotel in Hakone. Terrible mist and fog, so we couldn't see or visit Mt Fuji. I must go back!!! I really love Japan.

The country must be interesting and fanatastic. I would like to see it . But I don´t like these long flights. Ok, here in Europe and Middle East etc... no prob. But I cannot stay 10, 12, 15 hours in such an aeroplane.

I made it sometimes and knnow that´s not good for the fat uncle....hahaha

I was absolutely amazed at the polite friendly organization in Japan. At the lift door I was met by a friendly and imaculately dressed young lady in a lovely light blue suit (skirts not troussers).Inside the building there was always someone ready to help even a few steps up. I really liked Japan and the Japanese.I must go back some day.

It was easier for both my wife , daughter and I, as my wife's brother was working at the time in Tokyo for three years. We stayed with he and his family in their rather nice flat. I had a few excellent meals at the Tokyo American Club, as he was a member through his work, so we were allowed in. I really loved the Hakone area and a shinkansen day trip to kyoto. I needed much more time though.

The view must be awesome from there ... loooks like you can overview over the whole city. I expected it has higher skyscrapers around there. I've been once in China and it looked like the tv towers weren't the biggest buildings at all.

They are actually going to build a much higher tower in Tokyo.They have to go higher so they can get clear signals from the top. There are too many tall buildings surrounding the present one.

I love to take a trip to Tokyo for a month or so when summer comes. But it must cost a fortune...the plane and renting and everything.

It isn't a cheap place. I found it such a life's experience. I loved the country,the people treated me really well,the trains are fabulous and the scenery near Hakone and also the history near Kyoto.I truly loved the place. A relative was working in Tokyo,so that helped a lot.

Wait for the new giant Tokyo Tower.They are going to build it!!!In Japan they get on and build even in recessions.A fantastic country.Even the 581 Killometer record with maglev train in 2003.

I looked it up on Google: It has 7 floors. It is 13 meters taller than the Eiffel Tower (point on top makes it taller).It weighs 4000 tons,the Eiffel Tower weighs 7000 tons.

It was all so well organised and they kept a check on everyone.The actual upper viewing platform is a fraction less tall than the Eiffel Tower, but the point on top makes it slightly higher than the Eiffel Tower.You are more enclosed inside in Tokyo.

We were so amazed at the wonderful views we got up the Tokyo Tower. my little daughter took the video coming down. I can't wait to get back to Tokyo and other parts of Japan. Hakone and Kyoto were wonderful.

brewdog11. Tokyo Tower is slightly taller than the Eiffel Tower (The mast at top makes it slightly taller). The upper viewing platform of the Eiffel Tower is slightly higher up than the corresponding viewing platform of the Tokyo Tower. They are going to build a much taller Tokyo Tower soon.

MIG212006, I don't have the exact figures with me; but I heard that the spike on top of Tokyo tower is very slightly taller than the top of the Eiffel Tower. The top viewing platform on the Eiffel Tower is slightly higher than the top viewing platform on the Tokyo Tower. I went up both last year and I was very impressed.

I actually loved visiting Kyoto and seeing the ancient history. Hakone was also lovely. We had an enjoyable night at the Fujiya Hotel with it's old traditions.
