@365disneychannel365 Alan Freed and the negro started rock N' roll. Check out the documentary "Mr. Rock n' Roll: The Alan Freed story". It wouldn't have been called Rock N' Roll if it wasn't for him. The genre probably would have been called "Crazy Music" or something

Well, rock n roll was already underway by the time Chuck released Maybellene in 1955. It was already there. But Chuck definitely changed the genre. He was one of the first guys (if not THE first) to write his own songs, and he really redefined the way the guitar was used in the genre. He was the first rock n roll guitar hero, and paved the way for Clapton, Beck, Hendrix, Page, Van Halen, Blackmore, etc.
