I know it well. When I was a little kid, a radio station used to play this song all the time. I wanted to buy the 45, so I could listen to it anytime I wanted, no store had the 45 for sale. I wrote to the station to ask where I could get a copy.
The radio station sent Neon Philharmonic my letter and NP sent me an autographed copy of the 45. That said something like....Paula, we wish you flowers for your pillow. I wish I still had that 45.
I believe that the name The Neon Philharmonic was sold sometime in the early 70's, after the run of singles and albums on Warner Bros., with Gant and Saussy having little or no involvement. There were some releases on TRX, MCA and the London labels. I have a pretty good quality MP3 of "Long Distance Love Affair", contact me if you're interested still!

Truly written by someone, who got what it takes. Simply a wonderful Popsong nobody knows. It follows you through the day.
