this makes me cry because i went on holiday to ireland and i saw a horse like this and it was so beautiful i went every day and it was so shy it was a foal and so i brought an apple one day and he came i was so suprised and i gained his trust and from then on we loved eachother and we were unseprable for 6 years i was there he grew and grew are love was stronger than eva and wen i rode him it was like nothing could stop me his name was shy and he was exactly like this but then i had to leave :(
Gypsy horse were inported to ireland and england by travelling people, seat of the original horse seems to be around more likely around romania and nearby countries therefrom, today the breeders are developing the breed and i think its nice, but if i breed a certain pattern i wouldnt start to call swedish gypsy coz i live there or would i, might do ;D they are gypsy horses, maybe some has put the later tunes into em depending what 1 procent more rules in them and therefor the height?
What is a Gypsy Grai, I know the types Vanner and Cob but have not heard of Grai here in Australia. In Aus the vanner is considered the biggest and heaviest of the Gypsys and the cobs the medium size which are the most popular in Aus.
@ xXeMokiDXx "Vanner" Was a term coined by people in Florida. The gypsy people have been quoted as saying that they wouldn't be doing their horse any favors by calling them a Vanner. The folks in Ireland and England want nothing to do with the term, except to use it to sell horses to ignorant American's.
@Lolita5025 love it, so true!!!!! over here in the Netherlands we mostly call them irish cobs. or sometimes tinkers. (i know the last one isn't the best name either, but that the Dutch equivalent of vanner i suppose ) when people ask me about the horses that i own i always say irish cobs. Also they don't really distuinguish types. they'll just say that a horse is a heavy cob, regular cob or a lighter cob.
gypsy vanners r truely amazing horses but they r just a waste of a horse most people just breed then and stick them in a muddy feild the poor things (iwant one ) and if i had one i would be showing it off all the time but u cant help not showing off a horse as beautiful as that i no lots of people that will agree with me ?? x
@megankg500 they may look like they are thrown in a field but barely anyone with gypsies hasn't ridden in, had the kids on it, shown it or bred it. All the children constantly play with them :) I have never seen gypsies just left in a field except by cruel people who were reported to the RSPCA, and they are the minority of owners :)
This horses are all "Gypsy horse" not, Gypsy vanner. Vanner is just one of the 3 gypsy types. Vanner, Cob and Grai. And just have to say it :D The horse on the third picture is my two stallions grandfather :)
@Beatrice018 Thats not true, Gypsy Vanners are gypsy horses from England and Ireland and can only come from those countries, where as Gypsy Horses are more towards the horses bred in America and other countries.
thank you so much for these amazing photos & your wonderful music selection! just heart stopping Beauty! ahhh..... *')
