Is this guitar honestly that good? I don't see the point of an "acoustic" guitar that only sounds good when it's plugged in

think twice, it has a wound body and it is also thicker than electric strats, not as normal acoustics, but thicker.

it probably sounds at an acceptable acoustic volume

hi i just got my fender stratacoustic. and i'm not sure after putting battery in , it works. no light comes on. and the wires are right in center of hole (inside guitar) is yours like that?

I reccomend like he said for plugging it in.

If you play dry, go with a nice Takamine if you are looking at Acoustic.

If Electric (Pure.) Look back at Fender. A Nice Strat would be nice :D

I only have a strat but with my Fender Hot Rod (so a nice tube amp), it sounds awesome ! It's like 7 times the price of the Stratacoustic, but sounds awesome ! Of course, there are cheaper amps, and cheaper strats (if you buy everything second hand etc).

i really want to get a stratacoustic but most of the reviews i've read have been bad for it on musicians friend. what's your take on the guitar and do you think it's worth the $200?

Yeah I have one as well. I agree...it sounds pretty good plugged in but unplugged its pretty bad. Its worth the money though in any case...200 is relatively cheap.
