  • I Live On The Ground Floor And I Live Around 40 Miles From Luton And I Can Get A Good Signal Its A Brillant Scanner

  • @Tyler99Wood That's good to hear! Thanks for the comment!

  • Can anyone help ,where can we buy this UNIDEN BEARCAT UBC-30 XLT in Frankfurt ??

  • @vachalh77 It's possible that it's called Albrecht AE-30H there. Look it up on google with that name. They are exactly the same.

  • How far do you live from the airport?

  • @HotDog12ist About 6 kilometers (line of sight).

  • How far Can it Go

  • @Tyler99Wood It depends on the power of the transmitter and if you're in line of sight with it or not. Basically, if you don't live in a valley and you're in approx. 20-30 km range of the airport, you don't have to worry about the range.

  • im in galway and im tryin to pick up the garda signal on this scanner can some one show me how? thanks

  • Hi, just received mine today. Can you help me? the vhf freq wont go lower than 137.000????

  • @DavidJames96 That's because 137 MHz is the lower treshold of vhf. If you want to listen to ATC transmissions, you have turn AIR on. That goes from 108 to 136MHz.

(As you can see at the beginning of the video, on the upper left corner it says "AIR", because on mine, only air is turned on.

  • @BEM5823 Ohh thats great thanks :) so when would you use vhf? to listen to what? im new to all this sorry! hahaa

  • @DavidJames96 No problem :) For example, taxis use vhf.

  • @DavidJames96 @DavidJames96 @DavidJames96 By the way, on this site: qrg(dot)globaltuners(dot)com you can find frequencies near to your location and there are also vhf freqs if you're curious ;)

Oh and thanks for subscribing! :D

  • @BEM5823 Ok thats great thanks! Thanks for your help. And your welcome :)

  • how far are you from the airport

  • @strangerx1 Approx. 5 kilometers (line of sight). In addition, I live on the top of a hill. (Higher than the airport)

  • @BEM5823 thanks

  • HA! HA! I've got the same! It looks like yours, but it's the Albrecht AE30H, not UBC30XLT

  • @LuftfahrtFan They are exactly the same. :) When I bought mine, it was called Uniden UBC30XLT, but now I couldn't even find it under this name in my country.

  • Great:) best regards

  • can you show the FM (88-108) range and tuning in that range?

  • @coondogtheman1234 Of course! Here it is: /watch?v=sM-xb9xTUto

It's unlisted, so you can only watch it with this link.

  • Hey. Thanks for sharing. I am sooo near to buy this one. But I have to ask you: When you got the scanner, was the atc function unit built? I mean the atc freqencies are on 108-137.

    Best regards

    thomas

  • @FSXFS2002 Yes, the ATC frequencies are built in when you buy it, if that's what you mean. So you can set any frequency in the FM, AIR and VHF range. You can also turn off the FM and VHF range if you don't want the scanner to tune there (when scanning automatically) as you can see at the beginning of the video, it says "AIR" on the upper left section. That's because I turned off the FM and the VHF

Sorry for the late answer BTW :)

If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

  • @BEM5823 Cool thanks for the answer. I have bought it. But how do I change to the AIR. There is'nt any AIR icon on mine.

  • @FSXFS2002 Keep pressing the BAND button till you see "AIR" on the upper left and "OFF" in the middle. Press one of the arrow keys and it's on.

  • Are you still satisfied with it? If so I will buy one for me too! :-D

  • @Flygvapnet Yes, absolutely. I can only recommend it!

  • @BEM5823 Great! :) Looking forward to Kecskemet Airshow btw! :-) (Without scanner ;-) )

  • @Flygvapnet Yeah me too! :) I think you can use it there, in your pocket, with earphones ;)

  • the audio sounds nice. have you compared this to any previous scanners? ive a icom r2 and yaesu ft60 and they are ok but suffer pager noises on airband. im looking for something better.

    thnx

  • Yes, the audio is nice. I didn't experience any strange noises. The only bad thing is that you can't turn off the beeping sound that sounds when you press a key, and sometimes it's strange...you know, I can't explain it :D It's like the speaker vibrates or something like that, I don't know. But that's all, this not affects the quality of the transmissions.

  • Hi what is the marine band reception like on this scanner? thanks

  • Sorry, I don't know, because I haven't tried it yet. But thanks for your comment.

  • no worries, I`m about to buy one for my dad as he likes the ships.

I already have a Uniden PSR-295 scanner which is really good value for the low price i paid. cheers ...

  • MY Scanner =) :D

  • Hello eventually I also bought this unit (actually the Albrecht AE30H which is identical) and I am pleased with it so far. I have also read positive reviews about the Diamond SRH789 telescopic antenna. Köszönöm!

  • You're welcome, have fun with it! :)

  • Hello, this scanner supports the 8.33 Khz separation but would go recommend it over Maycom Ar108?

  • I don't know the Maycom AR108, but as I read about it, I recommend the UBC30XLT. I found a test on a site about the AR108, google "Maycom AR108, and the first hit will be that. There are everything about it, and you can find the UBC30XLT's manual in the video description. So, the decision is yours.

  • ive got the exact same scanner... thanks for the frequensy i will remember it when i come to ferihegy next time :)
