@Tyler99Wood It depends on the power of the transmitter and if you're in line of sight with it or not. Basically, if you don't live in a valley and you're in approx. 20-30 km range of the airport, you don't have to worry about the range.
@DavidJames96 That's because 137 MHz is the lower treshold of vhf. If you want to listen to ATC transmissions, you have turn AIR on. That goes from 108 to 136MHz.
(As you can see at the beginning of the video, on the upper left corner it says "AIR", because on mine, only air is turned on.
@DavidJames96@DavidJames96@DavidJames96 By the way, on this site: qrg(dot)globaltuners(dot)com you can find frequencies near to your location and there are also vhf freqs if you're curious ;)
@LuftfahrtFan They are exactly the same. :) When I bought mine, it was called Uniden UBC30XLT, but now I couldn't even find it under this name in my country.
Hey. Thanks for sharing. I am sooo near to buy this one. But I have to ask you: When you got the scanner, was the atc function unit built? I mean the atc freqencies are on 108-137.
@FSXFS2002 Yes, the ATC frequencies are built in when you buy it, if that's what you mean. So you can set any frequency in the FM, AIR and VHF range. You can also turn off the FM and VHF range if you don't want the scanner to tune there (when scanning automatically) as you can see at the beginning of the video, it says "AIR" on the upper left section. That's because I turned off the FM and the VHF
the audio sounds nice. have you compared this to any previous scanners? ive a icom r2 and yaesu ft60 and they are ok but suffer pager noises on airband. im looking for something better.
Yes, the audio is nice. I didn't experience any strange noises. The only bad thing is that you can't turn off the beeping sound that sounds when you press a key, and sometimes it's strange...you know, I can't explain it :D It's like the speaker vibrates or something like that, I don't know. But that's all, this not affects the quality of the transmissions.
Hello eventually I also bought this unit (actually the Albrecht AE30H which is identical) and I am pleased with it so far. I have also read positive reviews about the Diamond SRH789 telescopic antenna. Köszönöm!
I don't know the Maycom AR108, but as I read about it, I recommend the UBC30XLT. I found a test on a site about the AR108, google "Maycom AR108, and the first hit will be that. There are everything about it, and you can find the UBC30XLT's manual in the video description. So, the decision is yours.

FSXFS2002 1 year ago
@FSXFS2002 Keep pressing the BAND button till you see "AIR" on the upper left and "OFF" in the middle. Press one of the arrow keys and it's on.
