@mvies77 I think she will be well cast as Mrs. Lincoln, she can play a drama and a tragedy and she looks a bit like her. it is the lead I was worried about, as he is better looking than Lincoln, but I saw one smiling photo of Lincoln he had his charm and was a media star politician for his era, so it should work. the had BIG casting call for the kid, should be very sad. they should have the carriages and costumes done very well.
@thepixieful1 Still not sure.I know she can act, she has 2 academy awards.It is the depth and complexity of Mary that makes me unsure.Lincoln was never handsome but it was during the crushing worry and weight of the war and his children's death that caused the worst of his looks.Lewis has played ugly men and wonders are done now.I just hope Spielberg gives Lincoln's life the grace and dignity it deserves.president.I also hope he does not omit his spiritual reverence and sense of humor.

@mvies77 I do hope the black characters are in it that were part of their world. and it has so much plot line with Mary and the politics of the war, the crisis of Todd's death, I see what you mean, it could be a five hour film.....that will be the problem what to leave out. more later.
@mvies77 also John Williams had two more soundtracks this year, I know he will do fine things with music of that era. Victorian and most people do not think of that. but it was.
imma see it only cause of daniel day lewis. i really dont think spielberg has done anything good lately except being a executive producer to every fucking film,cartoon,and shows thats out right now
@gkj13 I am not a great fan of hers but I have worked in show biz and she does resemble her I think it was a good choice, esp, she will be larger and older in a close up and with all those hoop skirts. it will work, wait and see.
