@lollosmacintosh Computers these days are too new to run legacy software. It could a issue related with your host machine, you should try disabling Hardware Virtualization (if enabled) or create a new virtual machine and try to install Chicago yourself. Hope that helps.

Potrebbe un problema correlato con la vostra macchina host, si dovrebbe provare a disabilitare Hardware Virtualization (se abilitata) o creare una nuova macchina virtuale e provare a installare Chicago te stesso. Does Chicago run similarly to Windows 3.1x? I'd like to install it on my old 486 tower, but I don't want it to become the main interface, just one I can start up from the DOS prompt.

@tehbbqbox0r Chicago is like both of Windows 3.1 and Windows 95, and it starts up automatically without the need to type it in from DOS.

@moohoo725 Are you using Virtual PC 2007? Since this VHD is designed for 2007, not 2004 or Windows Virtual PC.

That VHD... Can't run or load file KRNL386.exe. It rly isn't there, And I've realized I have a copy of that vhd on my laptop, and it's also broken. So, it's a problem with vhd. There is too much messing with the instalation of chicago, as most of iso's and vhd's are fucked up...

I just noticed, its something to do with Windows Live SkyDrive which is causing the trouble here, it appears not to download anything and says its 0 bytes, now I don't know if this is only temporary, but I hope soon it will start working again soon!

Also, the VHD works perfectly fine on my computer, it could be your computer or version of VPC 2007, but I seem to be having problems myself downloading from Windows Live SkyDrive.

@latiosandlatiasguy I'm not sure, I'm not Microsoft, I don't know the error codes, but I had problems too with Setup so I can suggest you keep trying again or try the Virtual Hard Drive, to see if that works.

@latiosandlatiasguy this is because you don't have any fat16 partitions on which you could install windows. try installing do 6.22 first or using fdisk (and format c: after reboot) from a bootdisk

A 'Boot Disk' is a disk (that could be a floppy or CD) to boot at startup.

The network driver is broken in Chicago upto about version 122 (beta 1), because they did no work on it. But they put a token NETWORK.DRV file there anyway, to indicate that it was being worked on.

I like the way Chicago looked. It has big icons and the blank box in the taskbar is where you could put shortcuts. They should have kept Windows 95 the way Chicago was. and you can see the windows also having some effects when you minimized them.

(directed not at the owner) avrillavigne, Chicago came out right after NT (as a beta, duh), and NT (except for sp4) had no start menu, dupe of win3.11 if you were talking GUI. I don't think MS knew how to place a timebomb, besides, no programs (including flash player, for YT) work on Chicago, unless you find some crappy abandonware.
