Well this seems to be the fix for mine as well. Super excited to have my TV back, however, if this is only a temorary fix, is anyone out there trying to diagnose which Caps are getting overloaded and blowing the fuses? I'd hate to have to cut a hole in my TV to replace the fuse over and over......
@Gregory66cham You need a continuity tester, they run about 5-10 bucks at any automotive shop. The replacement fuses I found are on Amazon.com for $1.39 for 5, plus ship, total was $5.25!
OMG man u r a livesaver. I live in Alabama and have been through hell trying to find these fuses. The Place u recomended is awesome and great costomer service. Very nice thank you very much :)
you save me £230 through this video. my tv wont turn on so i went to the repair shop to seek advice. i was quoted £230 as repair price almost half of the tv.am out of warranty so samsung said i have to pay. i just came on utube yesterday and saw ur video. i immediately dismantled my tv took the fuse out went to the shop and got the same fuse for just £1 and after inserting it my tv is working .am sooooooooooooo happy.thanks very much.
One of my Samsung plasma tv fuses showed no continuity and was bypassed with a paper clip hidden underneath the bad fuse. Bad repair job from whoever had it before me.
So just a quick comment. My symptoms were a clicking every 1.5 seconds and no power on. The red light would flash as it tried to power on. Sometimes I could unplug the TV and it'd work but eventually that stopped working too. So for me, it was capacitors on the power supply block. Soldered a new one in and it worked! One 2200 microfarad 16v (replaced a 10v) at 105deg.C. The screw posts for the VGA port need to be unscrewed with a flathead before taking the back panel off this model. Kind of
Want to add my thanks. You saved me hundreds of dollars, I think. Other than driving an hour each way to get the parts, I was able to fix my TV with nothing more complicated than a screwdriver, in about 10 minutes.
Just now replaced the fuses in the back of our 5084 Samsung. Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to make and upload this video. At the current time, we wouldn't have been able to afford to have it repaired at a shop and this did the trick. Well, for now anyway. But it seems to be functioning as normal for the first hour! MUCH appreciated, I owe you a cold one!
thank you so much for this video. my Philips flat-tv stopped working yesterday, so i was allmost about to throw it out, having to buy a new one :S seeing your video and hearing about what happened to yours, I'm allmost certain this is also what happened to mine, so i'm going to give it a try this afternoon. thanks for saving me a lot of money for not having to but a new tv (I hope..)!!

read the fuse carefully it should say 12 amp 250volt. call St Clair electonics at 513-641-1616 and order a bunch. i have blown 4 fuss now the last after only one week. i have cut an access panel in the back of the tv for easy access. anybody know of a more permanent solution ie. a redesigned power board? for this vexing problem?

Great information. I have same problem with my plasma TV one year past warranty. There are 4 fuses with different rating but the one closest to the power supply is blown. I could not find the 12amp 250v fuse locally, so I ordered it on eBay. I bought five fuses plus shipping for less than $5. I got my TV work again. Thanks man for great posting!
I want to thank you so much for this info video, you saved me almost $600.00 bucks on having someone come over to repair this. Everyone I called wanted to change out the power supply unit, well guess what for a .069 fuse I purchased on line in which I bought 3 of them for future use. I installed it and Voila it fired right up and works like a champ great info thanks again.
please remember to disconnect all power and use a voltmeter to check for stored voltage. there is a risk of electrocution with any high voltage device. Be Careful!
Excellant Info, however Samsung does not post this any where inless you are a Certified Technician for Television Repair. All broadcast of repair of televisions should state a warning of possible DEATH from electrocution. Do to liability issues. All manufactures do not post information to the public.
Thanks for posting this. I had a power problem with my TV only 18 months after purchasing it. Samsung sent out a repairman and covered it under warranty (I was told the power supply itself was replaced, but I don't know for sure). It just died again about 11 months later and this time Samsung told me it wouldn't be covered since the TV only came with a 2-year warranty. I had a hard time tracking down these fuses, but finally found them online at Diving Lighting's web site. TV works now!
no hablo casi ingle pero tu tutorial es buenisimo yo tengo la misma tv fp-t5084 y me paso el mismo problema creo que conyu video la voy a poder arreglar muchicimas gracias amigo dikku1
I have a samsung 58" and just recently with a power outage my tv went blank but there is still sound. I started smelling smoke coming out of the tv. well I do have a power surge protector but obviously it didn't do shit for my tv. Do you have any idea if the power supply board is the issue?
Another question for you or anyone else reading this: My screen has large black spots which slowly show up after turning it on. Anyone know what's wrong with the TV?
Good work, may help someone. I had the power board do exactly what yours did on the exact same TV. Sadly, replacing the fuse just blew the new fuse again and I had to buy a new board. I would enjoy your fix while it lasts but be prepared for it to fail again.
@phoebelala Just for future reference m8.If you got a fuse blowing check the bridge rectifier first then the power mosfets then Filter Cap for insulation or whether its shorted(Be Carefuly,High Voltage) Then your diodes.
Hi dikku1, I have tried removing the back case of my Samsung T5084 and ran into a snag. After removing what seems to be every screw on the back, I tried to pull off the back casing but the casing doesn't come off near the middle. Any ideas?
@goodtimeshaxor Theres a little screw in the AV Board or on some models theres the VGA input has silver little screws that u need to take out as well.Don't Forget to take off the stand as well.
I had the same happen to my samsung plasma, same model, 5 days ago. I also had problems finding the fuse. It's a "Littelfuse" brand fuse,if you go to their web site you can get a list of distributors for that specific fuse. The part number I found that matched was "0215012". I ordered it the next day, arrived 2 days later. My tv's working perfect again.
I bought a plasma TV a week ago and when loading it the guy at BestBuy told me NEVER to lay it down like that because the gas will collect in one spot and ruin the screen.
