Its because the video has to be in high resolution widescreen to get it in HD. They dont have any Widescreen videos or pictures. So they had to add black letterbox in the sides to show the full pic or vid.

So you're telling us to pay $300+ extra just so we don't have to download the applications ourselves? iMovie might be better than Windows Live Movie Maker, but at least we don't have to pay money when Wave 4 version of Live Movie Maker comes out in January/February.

Besides I could buy Adobe Premiere Elements for $70 and that is better than iMovie and the total cost of the PC would still be less than the mac.

When I take into consideration the total cost of ownership the PC is definitely the better buy, I use a free anti-virus that works really well. How can you say that the mac is cheaper in the end when I don't pay any more money than what I pay originally.

The reason it is not available for XP is technical reason I can PM you a link to a webpage listing all the reason it is not for XP, but mainly it is so newer and more stable technologies could be used. The entire engine is rewritten on top of Direct X, they did this so they could add some very advanced features over time.

You are correct Adobe Premiere Elements is for OS X however in the end you end up paying more with the mac.
