  • Okay, now try printing at a 1:1scale!

Anyway, if anyone wants to swap their Ariel Atom for an Epson printer, please let me know!

  • Anyone kno who the driver is?

  • 10 pages in 1 minute? thats a long time

  • Try to print the same amount of pages in normal settings instead of draft and with a full page, than u can tell me its a fast printer.

  • @Jaso4444 So do I!

  • i smell top gear

  • Yeah and I bet you actually think Caviar tastes good!

  • good... i loved it

  • that's incredibly fast! i love epson. epson rocks!!!

  • the printer is throeing paper in his face in order to make him not concentrate lol

  • @greentray123 I laughed at that part XD

  • It's so spectacular~~!!!!

  • the printer didn't have to be on the atom.

  • @tahn07 HAHAHA IKR

  • wow fastest printer :) i am very impressed!

  • MODA!

  • it's such a stupid ad... i thought they want to print the race track on a 1:1 scale... otherwise what's the big deal if the printer is faster when printing such a small race track... they can print it on 1 page too then it will be 10 times faster than the car...

  • not convinced.

  • Cool video!!!

  • Tune in next week for Pt II where we'll find out which wastes the most resources: the car (fuel)? Or the printer (ink)? Speed isn't everything.

  • Great idea, exciting race, and what a finish!

  • Loved this film! Seriously cool. Definitely Epson next time...

  • my unkle drives f4 they are the bomb

  • Really liked this. An engaging piece of content that shows off the speed of the printer. Also seems a good fit between the engineering of a car and the technology behind the printer. A pretty riveting, creative ad for a seemingly vanilla category. Nice!

  • I loved it, it's a fast printer, what more do you need.

  • This is great when you need to go to work fast, but you need print some stuff urgently so you can do it in your car while driving.... very usefull

  • That advertising worked a treat. I want one. Off now to search for "Ariel Atom"...

    what?

  • I can't stop wondering how some publicist can sell so many bad ideas to their clients (like this one).

  • I request a rematch with The Stig driving.

  • @CagleRacing

with the stig and the printer off the car

instead of taking the printer on that vehicle

  • Ma che figata!

  • Stupidity but yet enjoyable

  • right right..imagine the paper cuts you would get with this..its probably safer to text while driving than print while driving xD

  • The sad thing is, if this had been a segment on Myth Busters, for example, it would've been pretty cool.

The fact that it's an ad just makes it suck.

  • A lot of unimaginative losers posting on this wall.

Maybe all advertising should just be a guy standing still talking about a product.

  • at least the printer is electric..

  • lol that was awesome

  • Some of you people are missing the point....it's quirky, it's meant to show that speed is an important aspect of buying a printer for some people, and it's using a racing analogy(which by the way is more important in the UK than in the US), to do it.

  • Awful.

  • This is silly.

  • the stig would've won as easy as hell,,, haa stupid commercial

  • That was stupid. That litteraly said NOTHING about the printer, except that i seems to have wifi...

  • Very well Epson, but I won't finish printing with an adrenaline rush thinking, "Wow, that was extreme. Let's try and do it faster."

  • Epson printers have always kicked ass. Been using them since about 1994 and no other brand compares to the print quality. Just sayin'...

  • Well, this wasn't a huge waste of paper or anything. Nope, completely necessary.

  • Hmm, so which cost more, fueling the car for 1 lap or printing for 1 lap?

  • WHAT A POINTLESS RACE

  • Cool idea, but terribly done. One who knows how fast the guy was driving? It didn't look like he was actually going that fast. Two, you added weight to the car having the bracket for the printer in the car, the printer itself, and all that camera equipment in the car as well. The only part that I actually enjoyed was seeing the Ariel Atom being used, but it didn't look like the guy driving knew what do to with it =P No Epson printers for me!

  • I can write whole nation faster than a jet plane in a downscale.

  • does the Wifi work on high speeds??

  • @ramzendo the signal to print all the pages was send to the printer at the moment the car started

there was no active wifi transmission signal while the vehicle was moving

  • @Emulani ah! you are right! thanks!

  • amanzing concept. the deal with the wifi thing was great.

let me ask, what camera did u guys use for the slow-mo? phantom cameras?

    thankjs! congrats! great production!

  • That's nothing. Imagine if you scale down the track small enough, we could do this with a 386 and a circa-1985 dot matrix printer. With a tractor feed, the pages would even stay together and not fly off. Or in the case of 1:11, double feed and spit out two pages instead of one.

  • Totally unscientific, dumb concept, but guys... it's an Atom...

  • IRL it would have either double-fed a page or jammed.

  • i just lost 2 minutos of my life.

  • I would still take the Arial Atom over the printer. I had one before and the cost of the ink was crazy. At least with the Arial u can invest in something that is worth the money. Plus the cost of those ink cartridges would eventually cost as much as the car.

  • retarded

  • So, if I want to litter buy an Epson printer? Silly commercial.

  • If this is real I am going to buy this tomorrow

  • thumbs up is gizmodo brought you here =p

  • they just killed the power to weight ratio by putting that printer in there :P

  • wow.. this is a new low in marketing

stupidest thing i've ever seen in my life

  • I like that the printer can still print clear and accurate images/text while handling those g forces. Those Yoko AO48's are no joke!
