When I did this run the first time, It thought it glitched as well. But it seamed that when I ran into the ziggurat and pulled the npc's inside, one could reset and go back on the platform above the green slime. I didn't saw this, run further and realised at the end that one ziggurat didn't activate. Ran back and saw this npc still standing there keeping the ziggurat active.
Mana wasn't the issue for me since when I had watershield on it would almost consume directly all charges duo loads of npc's. At the moment I've put this mount farm on hold a bit, afther loads of runs it still didn't drop. >.>
To make the last pulls go a lot faster, pull every abom EXCEPT 1 so that you can regen and kill the last abom. Once you have done that, you'll be at full health and mana to run into Baron's ziggurat and you won't have to wait for the last pulls to come out

ive tried this 4 times and 3 of them something glitched and the ziggurat never opened.

Im guessing its much MUCH easier with an 80 than it was with a 70 xD
