  • I fell in love with her in 1964

  • Marianne's haunting voice is perhaps unique in popular music.

  • Before the drugs and booze did her in, Marianne Faithfull was THE most beautiful girl in the world, and she had one of the most beautiful voices, too. Her songs and her beauty made you gasp in wonder.

If you ever need a lesson in why to avoid drugs and alcohol, her life story is it.

  • Another great tune Jackie DeShannon. As for Marianne--God, as a 13 year-old when this song came out, I dreamt of her many, many nights.

  • she should have married me....

  • Again the beautifull distinctive voice of the beautifull Marianne. Catchy song to boot.

  • This song comes from her vinyl album which also features "What Have I Done Wrong" and "In My Time Of Sorrow", two beautiful sad songs.

If anyone out there has these, please please share them with us.

  • What a babe xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Marianne Faithfull was a LEGEND, she demanded nothing from Mick Jagger, she walked away, she is awesome and is gorgeous too boot and yes I am a chick but I think she is gorgeous

  • I fell in love with Marianne Faithful many moons ago. I love her

  • She's wonderful!

  • beautiful woman, a song that brings back the 60s, but why is she singing through a window?

  • I'd stay with you in a heart beat! I was 15 when this song came out and fell in love with her, she was so beautiful.

  • Zim: ALL of us guys who remember her back in the '60s was in love with her!! ;-)

  • @CJurasin

Jurasin, yea, she was my heart throb. I elated to hear you "loved" her also. So very pretty.

    Zim

  • 1965 Marianne was a beauty"! Stay with me is her best, if you're asking me

  • Written by Jimmy Page, (Led Zepp) and his squeeze at the time, Jackie DeShannon.

  • @ProducerEffects Jackie DeShannon wrote this one alone. Page co-wrote some other songs with her. It sounds like he might be one of the guitarists, though.

  • I don't recall hearing this song as a single in mid-'60s Toronto. Either it didn't chart high, or at all, in Canada - or my memory's poor!

I checked it out today after reading Morrissey chose it as one of his "desert island discs".

  • I have always respected Miss faithfull, she never demanded nothing from Mick Jagger and she has grown as a person and a performer, Good on Her.

  • Cher's version was good, but this has a better beat. These early videos are classics.really liked the giant twirling silver snowflake thing.
