I first saw Chris Cooper in a PBS TV movie called "1000 Pieces of Gold" in 1991, and developed a mad crush on him. But, in addition, he turned into a first-rate actor, and just took off from there in one gem after another. Don't know offhand of any 'bad' movies. His role in "American Beauty" was astonishing!

Cooper did not act in Black Hawk Down. And I thought he was superb in this movie. Last scene "Pray for Me" was stunning.

Well of course Chris hasn't made a bad movie. Chris ranks right up there with my other favorite actors, Chris Reeves, Paul Hogan, and of course Harrison Ford. I personally think this man carried the film October Sky instead of Jake Gyllenhal. October Sky was filmed here in my city of Knoxville TN. I got to see filming from a distance, but Chris was never in the scences filmed here in town. Great actor!

The character he plays are really interesting; usually really stern or condescending, like he's trying to mess with the minds of other characters.

i loved this movie- it was soo great! i know he was a criminal, but i couldnt help but feel bad for Robert Hanssen at the very end- the elevator scene. ummm AKWARD!
