  • great!!

  • I saw Waylon around the time and this song was out on the Lonesome, Onery and Mean Album. As I recall it would be 1972 or so that would have made Waylon about 35 years old here. It also was just about when he got creative control of his recordings and he began to thrive as an artist.

  • Beautiful......how old was Waylon here...?.I really like him clean-shaven.........anyhow beard or not this is a great version of a great song :)

  • Pure 'effin Bourbon!

  • Great stuff...back when the telecaster was new...

  • Waylon at his best. Come to think of it, he was always at his best. Thanks for this video. Superb.

  • Wow...he sure was good looking when he was young! Didn't realize that he sung this song!? Loved it!!

  • Wow !! This is epic ! this has got to be the best version of this song thats ever been made. King Waylon did it again

  • Great...........

  • if you can do beter do so

  • there is always some idiot who dislikes

  • @jim09667 Surely the one dislike was given by someone who just missed the "like" button.

  • @editorkim thats right that tends to happen ...then again no

  • @jim09667 Trust me, it happens. And once you've misclicked, you can't take it back.

  • @editorkim mis clicked. need to remember that one ,...ok lets move on

  • I love this song

  • One of the best! really miss the real country music artist

  • Sorry Waylon but this is a very VERY POOR interpretation of this famous and numberless released song... You can do better, MUCH BETTER !!

  • @renger29 Waylon was a young man when he sang this - rather well I think. Sadly he can no longer do better. RIP Waylon.

  • a great talent!!! much missed....

  • One of Kristofferson’ s best. Sung by the best of them… Kris himself, Joplin, Pink and at the top of the list… WAYLON JENNINGS! Is there anything Waylon can’t sing? Lol

  • Waylon sang the theme song for "the dukes of hazzard" TV show

  • ahh lamb chop side-burns

  • Another great vid and performance.

Does look like Tony Joe White on guitar and backing vocals, and Tommy Jennings on Bass.

Was there a dress code for Hee Haw? The vids from the December 15, 1970 show (Kentucky Woman) look really similar!

  • @webvan94 , It's Billy Ray Reynolds on rhythm guitar and backing vox.

  • That guitar solo is amazing at the end god i love waylon the man is dead and still helping me beat the odds

  • Great song...written by Kris Kristofferson played by many singers OWNED BY WAYLON JENNINGS!

  • @mammothfilms Comparing Janis Joplin to Waylon Jennings? ROFL LMAO.

  • Is that Tony Joe White on guitar and background vocals?

  • aww haaaiill yeeaahh waylon fuckin nailed bobby mcgee

  • smooth and sweet!

  • That went down easy. Soooooo smoooooth.

  • This is from Hee Haw in 1972. Waylon does this song better then anybody.and Kris Krissoffson would probaly agree. Waylon Jennings was one of a kind and when he he sang and played his guitar he owned that song. There will never be another outlaw like Waylon. R.I.P Hoss

  • Best Bobby McGee song ever heard.
