every time i hear this i feel like crying and singing and dancing and falling....its really powerful...lol......i know that sounds wierd but it does.....maybe its just me hehe
so... i feel like she wrote this song for me... but every time she sings this, its strange how it fits into me, and i feel a deep longing in my heart. For this is truly my song.
I dance. and this is one of the moxt beautiful songs i have ever heard.but all the competitions i have gone to i havent heard it yet.but this year im doing it as my solo and im taking it to regionals and nationals and hopfully past that.
i love to dance and i admire all those who can express what they feel just with their body i would really like to know how to dance ballet but unfortunally im too young
There really isnt a limit on age for any kind of dancing, you'd just have to get lessons. That's what I did. I have horribly brittle bones in my toes but I can still stand on point. :\
This song is so tender, I've never heard such raw emotion and gentle sadness in a melody. This song means a lot to me because my mother's father's name was Eric, however he passed a week before I was born. But I know he's been there, somewhere, every step of the way, watching silently as I've grown. This song makes me feel at rest, it's like everything I've wanted to say to him was in the lyrics.
MY brother's name is Eric...I know it might sound weird, but this song reminds me of him because we are super close and I honestly have no idea what I'd do without his support! Love ya, bubba!
This song in particular is so delicate. There is a quality like ice slowly melting on an early spring morning. It builds to a babbling stream as it flows over rocks and twigs, seeming to stop at points and then gaining momentum and moving the debris of winter out of the way.
im in a bad way with my boyfriend too right now, all ive been listening to is Vienna Teng, i suggest listening to the song Passage y her, or harbour, they make me cry :S
This song, now that I really listen to it because of my anger, this song is true poetry. This is what song is supposed to be. No, it's not even a song. It's like an art piece. A masterpiece. My favorite line is "Now I am sure like never before..." and also "Like lessons exquisitely crafted"
"How swiftly we choose it - the sacred simplicity of you at my side."
*blissful sigh* This is GORGEOUS. I love love LOVE this song. It's quiet, intelligent, poetic, solid, REAL. No tired, shallow, worn-out lyrics about how much you love so-and-so or how you hate whatshisname for breaking up with you blah blah blah...just pure, beautiful words and thoughtful observations. This is a song worth listening to.
And your amazing dance pictures made it all the more beautiful. Thank you and good job!
It has been many a year since I've had the privilege in experiencing such grace and purity in the craft of an artist of such high calibre. This is simply one of the most breathtaking songs I've heard in a very long time. Thank you, Vienna Teng.
I'm not talking about any lack of "depth" or "symbolism" I'm talking about things like rap lyrics where words are stuck in if they're vaguely near the topic or rhyming. And I'm glad Vienna didn't do that.
This is a beautiful presentation set to the most lovely music. It really makes me feel like your love dance and that your whole life is dance. Not to mention, Vienna Teng is my favorite singer. Excellent job.
I think my favorite part of this video was where Vienna sings, "Strange how this journey's hurting in ways we accept as part of fate's decree." and you had a picture of this man that looked like he was in so much pain, but it was just so beautiful when combined with the music. Really got to me.
gorgeous pictures. I like the one with the long white dress that billows backwards. And how you begin and end the video with the silhouettes dancing against a sunset-lit cobblestone street.
Vienna Twng is the best!!!My favorite song would have to be "My Medea" and I guess this too.I've never really bought her CD's(no money) so the songs of hers I hear are on Youtube.Awesome pics!5/5
beautiful video! i have that song from my friendster... i love making video and you did a great job! i appreciate this beautiful video with equally beautiful song! ^_^
I dance because I must... I love because I cannot stop... I live, because I can and I hurt because I live... The road of eternity... Is paved with tears... And my feet have blisters apon blisters... But the pain, leads me ever on... To finding the perfect... Arabasque

Style and voice are okay, but the music is soporific (no fine melody or tension).

@larsgerret I don't think there's suppose to be a melody tbh. I see it a more of her musing about the feelings and emotions between her and 'Eric'.

"Ambitions like ribbons worn bright on my sleeve"
Another beautiful line that gives me very solid and meningful visuals in my mind.

These lyrics...
It's pure poetry and that is so rare. And not just nowadays, there are hundreds of classics whose lyrics pail next to Vienna Teng's.
"My reasons for defying reason" is my favourite line in this and well...you can probably see why.
fallenangelakasatan 3 years ago 10
That's my favorite line as well...very clever and profound!

The combination of musicality, lyrics, and pictures is a bit of sensory overload. Trying to focus on all three at once just causes me to shiver.
