maybe putting the stuff in her locker was going too far lol... she should of stopped before that maybe :-)
i cant take the story seriously anyway....
i gotta ask, how do you get your hair to look like that? mine just looks crap when i try to make it look punky. you are well yummy - there i typed it :-)
i think that the problem is, some christians don't realize or understand, that their comments and actions sometimes come off as hateful or shrill.i think that some of us christians think this the way to be , to come across as if we're doing god a favor on earth.and we really like the sound of our voices, that this how we're supposed to speak to folks. no wonder that so many lgbt folks turn their backs on religion. what did jesus have to say about being gay?........absolutely nothing!
i really enjoyed your opinion on this & agree with you. even though i am a christian [i am using this term very loosely] i disagree wholeheartedly w/ the way some choose to live out their religion. essentially, i have no problem with different religions. i am very open-minded & strongly believe if someone else is content w/their beliefs, who am i to change that? i'm really glad you made a response, it disheartens me that so many christians make it their duty to FORCE people into change.
It is good to see open mined folks. As a relitive of mine (an Christian) said to me. "Sometimes Christians forget that the laws of the Bible don't apply to Non-Christians."
yeah, I used to be Christian, but I ended up getting shunned for being gay; and I think that from my experiences with the Christians at my last church (I'm not saying this of ALL Christians, because I have a few great open minded friends that are Christian) where very bigoted, and regrettably, that includes my parents.
I think that religion is a belief, and when your belief on others with opposite beliefs, nothing happens but cause problems BECAUSE of devotion.
First off have to say I hands down agree with what you say but I have to point out an error in something you said:
"That's what I enjoy about Wicca is because people can have whatever the hell of religion they want. As long as they're happy, as long as they're on their path."
Wasn't quite sure if you meant Paganism instead of Wicca, seeing as Wicca is it's own religion and is a branch off of Paganism.
I understand what your saying and thank you for the comment but i know that paganism has many branches for it is an umbrella term for many sects. Just as Catholicism is a sect of Christianity.
I was more going for the mind set of most Wiccans and some Pagans. I dont care what others religion is because everyone has their own path in this world to follow.
I remember reading this story on a website once. I shared it on my Buzznet a while back.
I agree. It was right to arrest her. Witnessing to someone ONCE is okay, but then carrying on and on? No. Obviously words aren't getting through to them.
Even though, as you said, it's not really her fault. It's what she's been brought up to believe she should do.
Its really sad that fanatics, regardless of Religion, Creed, Sect ect, seem to distort the line between hate speech and free speech, ultimately distancing them away from they're Goal.
As I always said, Most if not all Fundies are not trying to convince us but themselves about the Bible "True" I think it scares them to see that other religions exsist so it's like "Oh no what if we are wrong? So we must convert so we don't have to deal with others who don't believe like us"
I loved your response Joey. Hahaha. I don't know if this was an actual story or if it was just made up, but I figured it would make for a very interesting debate nonetheless. I believe she should have been suspended from school for awhile, and THEN if she keeps up her behavior she should be arrested. That is my opinion anyways. Thanks for the response!
fundamentalists mostly understand this, they have the true faith, and every one else doesn't. theres is absolute. they have no respect for diversity. they can't find contradictions in the bible. and their first mission is to save souls. yours and everyone elses. if you try to challenge them its like hitting a brick wall. good luck if you can!
Go take a dick faggot.

religion is like food you need to know when to stop eating food just as when you need to know when to stop preaching

You are dead on! Very good points. People do need to know when to stop.

Great points as there is a difference between freedom of speech and discrimination.

Don't know if that makes any sense It's late! LOL

very true, some may be scared others just may not seem to comprehend how others cannot believe in the bible or the christian god.
Very good points Loki, that's pretty hard to disagree with unless you'd rather defy logic and abandon common sense xD and nice duds
