@MIRYONEMKII but they are slaves for a statue man !! it's sooo damn stupid, what did you people expect from a statue, you are bowing for a statue that you thing he is a god ??????
You misunderstand. Buddhists are atheism,no one believe in God.I agee a statue can't help anyone(Why do you think like "you are bowing for a statue that you thing he is a god " -_- ).you conclude it by yourself.
About buddha image,if you study indian history, you will know that the creation was begun by Indian-Greek
modellers, after the age of Alexander the Great. They create in the sense of idolism. 555+
@MIRYONEMKII lestin i do not care about an image for a statue and i do not need to study an indian history, it would be a waste of my time, ummm so they think at represents their GREAT teacher huh ?? what to purify mind and soul ???!! it's no deferint to them it's in a place same as the rank of a god friend see ?
@hoxas777 It is totally diferent than any conception of God as we Buddhists reject the existence of God. I don't thinkt that it is good to criticize something if you don't understand anything about it. If you want to criticize Buddhism, you should first learn what Buddhism actually teaches and what Buddhists actually do.
@Bakmoon ummm okay belive in what you want, i think i was wrong when i thought that you are thinking that the statue is god, so you do not belive in god right ?
@hoxas777 We believe that suffering is caused by craving, so by giving up craving it is possible to become truely happy. This is what Buddhism is about. Becoming truely happy.
@hoxas777 Craving is defined as unfulfillable desires, specifically, the desire of sensory pleasures, the desire for eternal existance, and in some people the desire for non-existence (suicide). These desires and attatchements can't be satisfied by following them, so the way to happiness is to see why they don't satisfy and therefore abandon them.
@Bakmoon human's these day's my friend do only follow their own desires only, they all think only of one thing (most of them) satisfaction is not possible to human beings, we all need something, always need something and that something changes with time when we grow up, like first baby need's milk after he grow up he needs another thing like a driving lecince then after that he needs a car, and so on it's unlimited belive me
@hoxas777 If we follow only our desires, then we will always want something that we don't have. If a man wants money, he will just want more after he gets it. To be happy he must learn to accept what he has instead of wanting more.
@Bakmoon yeah some people does i do agree, some people do not care about having stuff they desire but some people not like that, it's like that human beings are created this way XD
I can't pronounce Pāli, but looking at the transcriptions it would seem that the relationship between Sanskrit and Pāli is pretty much like that between Latin and Italian, phonetically too. Pāli looks also much easier to pronounce than Sanskrit, but maybe it is just the romanization that makes me think so.
my friend doesnt matter pali is everywhere the same as in my village in indonesia we are theravada buddhist, pali is the same everywhere where there is theravada buddhism
if you know the name of your thai buddha statue,it will be a good thing to start from there, because there is maybe a special chanting to invoke them, but the most important thing is you have to offer food and drink sometime flower to them, and use the word namotassa pakavato alarato somema somebuddhassa three time then prensete the food or drink or flowerto them pali chanting is from india so all the south east asian are theravada they all pray in pali.if any question please ask me

@Bakmoon hhh belive me human beings can not be satisfied no matter what
hoxas777 4 months ago
@hoxas777 Not by following their desires, no. But by realizing the nature of the mind and letting go of attachment, satisfaction is possible.

@hoxas777 That is why one must let go of desire to be satisfied. If a person gives up desire, they will be satisfied.

@Bakmoon i do not agree my friend satisfaction only comes after one has gained the (desire) he want
