No offense. It is OK. The Lebanese study English, French from kindergarten to university and Arabic in addition to the spoken Lebanese language.
Prague was one of my favorite cities and I had many friends there. Villi Brzobohaty, Vladia, Miroslav, Hanza...etc.
Facing the Medieval clock in the square there was a place that sold Parik (sausage) and a street with an underground (three floors) wine cellar hat had gypsy orchestra. It was out of this world.
there is now more hotels , tourists and explosion of concerts in theaters and churches. center flooded with night clubs and strip joints. The Prague city is brighter. Your G+S show was in english? that led me to assume expat comunity, sorry if i offended you
@Salimgeo just discovered this and am very excited because both my parents were in the Orpheus Choir. Alvarez Boulos was murdered (I can't remember what year exactly but early 80s) and that ended the choir.
I assume that there was a large cultural expatriate community there to be able to have so many young and enthusiastic singers . Since the war time it is no longer in existence ??
Magic! Knowing how much effort these people put into this performance is deserving of a big round of applause. Not enough of this kind of thing on the web!
great upload, thanks for this. clearest audio quality of Finale Act 1 on youtube and also a great performance. cheers.

Is this video ripped from the master tape ? Because I have a vhs copy of it and I did not expect to find it on YouTube. Thanks.

Sorry, I did not see this note before. I have the master tape. I shot it on video so many years ago in Beirut.

Just the minor parts were done by non-Lebanese. Most of the choir members were Lebanese. I was shooting the video and could not play my part.
I'd immigrated to the USA soon after this production. I have no idea what's happened to the choir.
Prosim, is Prague still as beautiful? I had visited during the communist days and loved it.

The details are top right:
Produced in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1981 by the Beirut Orpheus Choir under the direction of Alvarez Afif Boulous.
