Some are and some aren't. Most of the really good stuff is or will require payware. But, there are some really good units out there that are free. Off the top of my head, really good freeware routes and stock includes Kurt Kaimner's GP40s, BEW's NS Dash 9s and ES40DCs, and the LSR&C Route.

The song is "The Energy" by Audiovent. But, I have no clue on the album. You can probably search for it on iTunes.

msts does not have very good steam engines or steam engine sounds. Its great for deisels.
