  • Ironic that because she isn't allowed to proselytize in front of her classmates she gets to proselytize in front of the entire nation. Still, this being Fox News I suspect that she is preaching to the converted.

  • there is no law stating you can not speak your mind, the school was wrong! I am surprise Fox News is reporting this. Personally this should be reported on MSNBC!

  • I saw the vid of her speech and it was quite clear this girl was ready to deliver a full blown sermon. Despite my atheism, I'm OK with someone acknowledging and thanking their god, but their should be a limit to how far they take it. If you tell me you are Christian and you love and thank your god, I get the picture and don't require further convincing of what you believe. To insist on continuing would be an insult to my intelligence and a grossly rude imposition. Hey Brit, can u say "empathy."

  • This girl did the right thing. "Heck, if you won't let me give MY speech, give me my diploma and you won't have a valedictorian speech." She's stll valedictorian AND an awesome witness for God. And the silly people who cut off her mic only made it MORE of an impact than if she had finished her speech. I'm reminded in Acts, Saul WATCHED and consented as Stephen was stoned to death for preaching Christ to the Jews. That impacted his conversion; named changed to Paul, and he led many TO Christ.

  • 2:28

'There's so many kids your age, you know, sex, drugs, rock&roll." ROFL

fucking fox reporters being sensationalists again..

  • 2:28

'There's so many kids your age, you know, sex, drugs, rock&roll." ROFL

    fucking fox reporters.. lol

  • lol this is hilarious. obviously, fox yet again is just trying to BLAME THE DEMOCRATS. god. they dont give a crap about her, just about the rage that it installs in people who like this bullshit

  • She's a liar. She promised to read the approved speech. Isn't lying a sin, Brittany?

  • @Feneter im not sure if she DID promise. but she just did what she thought was right. and in my opinion, she did nothing wrong and what she did was right thing to do.

  • @JonKeLiG Yes, she DID promise to read the approved speech. Thus, she lied. If you think she didn't do anything wrong, then you must be okay with lying. I thought lying was a sin.

  • @Feneter ok. Well, first of all don't have a one track mind in cases like these. your looking at in only one perspective. take away biases if there are any. secondly, i don't plan on having this debate. So, God bless you. have a nice day.

  • YOU GO GIRL!!! SHOUT THE NAME OF JESUS!!!!!

  • @OmgitsBaileyr

That's right. Jesus is the Name above all other names. Please read Acts 4:12.

  • It is bullshit. Did it offend anyone? Maybe pussy ass people who can't listen to others opinions. Oh no don't talk about GOD. Let's see, everyday in that school they had to stand up and say the pledge in which we all know has GOD in it. It's like someone giving you a hug then slapping you. Who wants to sit through a graduation speech anyway? I mean half the people were probably asleep until they turned off the mic. Shit I'm not even Christian and this upsets me.

  • She rules! I love her!

  • They're talking about "oh you're the valedictorian you should be able to say whatever you want" thats a bunch of BS. So they would have been ok if she got up there on stage and started screaming racial slurs and yelling white power!! Or if she said Hitler made this all possible etc? freedom of speech right? Come to think of it, this is Hannity, so he probably WOULD be ok with it....

  • @MrROBObeast You are a dumbass, another liberal taking things out of context. If a muslim's speech got cut, then the school would be sued 20 times over.

  • It's a school speech not freaking church....if you want to talk about your sky god, do so at home. School speeches are for talking about biology class and how your locker smelled funny. Completely inappropriate speech for school. End of story.

  • How is the freedom of speech ever not appropriate? She was 18 and observed the full rights of a legal adult. If she wanted to talk about Muhammed, let her talk about Muhammed. If she wanted to thank Shiva, or Buddha, it is HER RIGHT! This high school is everything that is wrong with America.

  • Trust Fox News to put a ridiculous spin on this story. "Free speech!!" "Censorship!!" "They're trying to SILENCE you!!!"

Or maybe, just maybe, that was simply an inappropriate speech for a graduation.

  • This girl believes that god farted out a baby via a virgin. That makes her sound retarded.

  • Its ok to shout Sieg Heil to Adolf Hitler in the school halls because thats exercising your poltical opinion, but shout Jesus is Lord and they will come down on you like a ton of bricks. Something is very, very wrong here.

  • If she believes in Jesus she isn't smart and the school should be embarressed to have this dumb girl as a val. I do not want my children hearing about Jesus much like this girl would not want her children to hear about buddha.

  • @kelseyjameson If she wants to talk about it fine but she has no right to talk about it at a graduation ceremony. There is a time a place for her to talk about that subject if she wants. It wouldn't be right for me to go to a Catholic church and talk about how there is no god. People don't go to a graduation ceremony to hear about god, end of discussion. You can raise your children how you see fit, but you should respect the views of others who don't want to hear about it.

  • Comment removed

  • @kelseyjameson You probably wouldn't like it if I went around and told the children in your family there is no santa and god isn't real and when you go to church a lot of priest rape little boys. There is probably a lot that I could say that you would find offensive and it isn't my place to say those things. A graduation ceremony is just that a graduation ceremony not a chance to preach. You can not say I am val; therefore, I can say whatever I want.

  • Comment removed

  • @kelseyjameson If I told your children that santa isn't real I wouldn't be saying someone else who said otherwise would be "wrong" I am just making telling people of my own believe much how what she is doing. There is no difference. It can go both ways; if you see it one way you have to be able to see it the other way.

Anyone who believes something without evidence would be classified as dumb in my book. I am sorry but that is MY belief.

  • I am an atheist. But I think it was unethical for the school take away her right to speak. We will make no progress if we can't hear opposing view points. Not just with religion, but with everything.

  • @F8sassassin she wrote a speech and handed it in for submission the school censored her sanctimonious religious bullshit and she went up and gave her original speech instead of the one accepted by the school board. If the valedictorian gave a speech about how hitler was their biggest influence through highschool do you think she should have the write to talk about hitler for 20 minutes, even though she was asked to censor it out no...

  • @derickhaywood Really you want to be that uptight about it? As I said, I am an atheist but I acknowledge that a huge part of the population in the USA is Christian. I don't agree with it, but she isn't spreading a message of hate, violence, etc. So to answer your question, no I wouldn't approve of a speech about Hitler. And realistically, her speech wasn't that long. You can deal with hearing someone's personal viewpoint for a few minutes.

  • congrats to her......a god loving woman.....so there are some left.??........most nowadays belong in a french whore house.....

  • When muslims wanted to build a mosque near ground zero what did the libeiral left shout ? - rights , rights rights.

Now this girls chooses to exercise her free speech where are those same people now who were once so eager to promote the rights of muslims.

"I disagree with every word you have said yet I would die for your right to say it." - Voltaire.

  • @MrMaxTruth Comparing apples to oranges aren't we?

  • So, If a satanist was inspired and earned the right to a speech should that be allowed? This isn't about rights. See the other valedictorian speech where the girl takes it WAY too far and starts convulsing, and needs a medic. Hypocrites. Just keep your religion personal. Preaching or expressing an agenda is off topic for a graduation. That's the point. Christians run this country anyways, so why cry about your rights when this country has been force fed religion for so long.

  • she does sound like she's preaching tbh.

  • @sogz7 BULL

  • There wouldn't have been so much argument and press about this if it had been a Hindu or a Wiccan that had gone up there and got cut off...

  • silly little girl

  • so is it hard for some of you to hear a teenage girl talk? i mean even if you dont beleive in jesus i would think you could sit down for 5 min and tolerate a deefferent point of view> reminds me of christians hearing about evolution in schools, we deal with it.

  • Why are atheists and Lberals so whiney? Even Combs, a liberal is like WTF?? Hannity says it all at 2:40.

  • @TheLightningspeed why is the right so whiney about EVERYThing?

  • Imagine if she was muslim instead. If she had started preaching about Allah and whatnot, everyone would be outraged. What's wrong with this country indeed.

  • @z0mFgWTFbbqZ I'm Christian and i wouldn't be. then again i'm a different kind of Christian. i like to know about other people and their beliefes.

  • Yes, you're freedom of speech limits the freedom of religion...?

  • She said " Christ dying on the cross is a huge part of MY life." Just because this belief is a huge part of her life does not mean it is a huge part of every single person in attendance. I realize she's just a kid but this lack of consideration and respect is typical of many Christians. As she matures I hope she realizes how wrong this was. Her speech should have been inclusive not the other way around

  • @nosajj12345 She is at the head of her class. She earned the right to say why she was where she was. Because of Christ period!! If you had a grandmother that was a huge part of getting you to be a valedictorian wouldn't you want to thank her even if nobody in the crowd knew her? Hello? She was not preaching she was giving a testimony of the way Jesus Christ has effected her life. Our school systems are so weak it can't even bear to hear the name which is above all names "Jesus Christ!"

  • @gudroe7 That's called preaching....you dummy!!

  • @gudroe7 difference between my grandma and god is that my grandma is real.

  • how was she doing the right think? she broke the rules and the seperation of church and state.

  • @ilovetheview47 what is your version of separation of church and state?

  • I support her :) She did what most christians have a hard time doing, getting God's love out there and she did it. and the more attention this got it was only giving God more glory. :) "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven."Matthew 5:10

  • she sounds retarded.....

  • This is a very gray line area....I don't know which side I'm on. I am a christian but I guess it all depends on what's allowed in speeches. I mean obviously we have free speech but say, what if a valedictorian used profanity? Is that allowed? There's absolutely nothing wrong with explaining how God helped her get to where she was but if preaching is against the rules then maybe they were in the right to cut her off.....

  • Again, very gray line area, could've gone both ways in my opinion. I think she could've given the christian message out by referencing it to her life more instead of going straight for "jesus died for all of us" which is where they cut her off at.

Hannity really needs to stop twisting the truth though...."as soon as you said Jesus they cut off your mic" - that's a lie Hannity. And I'm a christian so I'm not biased on this.

  • Wow even in something like this fox news is trying to bash liberals

  • i like how she thinks she was doing the right thing

  • @ilovetheview47 she was, your point?

  • I'm proud of her for speaking out and being BOLD. The world loves to talk about drinking, sex, and violence and the volume gets turned UP; turn on the TV anytime and be a witness to that. This young woman was motivated and encouraged by God and subsequently SUCCEEDED as a result and wants to share that experience with others and her mic gets turned OFF. If it worked for her and she was up there as VALEDICTORIAN, maybe she's doing something RIGHT.

  • Here is a fact about Christianity - it is and will always be persecuted. All the "open minded" people will always be angry at people who believe in God.

No other religion in the world is as persecuted as Christianity.

No other book has been burned, banned and defamed as much as the bible...yet it's still the #1 selling book every year...

We ARE free to talk about what we believe in in this country, or so I though. If you're going to get offended...move to North Korea.

  • @TheArberndt wow your an idiot. North Korea? really? You prob think this country was founded on Christianity haha

  • @TheArberndt wow what an idiotic statement. North Korea? really now? Christianity is persecuted because it has so many flaws and loop holes and easily debunked. Sorry. And last time I checked there is a seperation of church and state. And that girl was not just expressing her views SHE WAS PREACHING. Patronizing telling ppl to believe in God. PPL CAME TO A GRADUATION CEREMONY NOT A FRICKIN CHURCH SERVICE OR TO BE PREACHED AT... sorry thats the way it is

  • @TheArberndt MUSLIM, is the most persucuted by far, Bibles are burned, but the quaran is barely even allowed to be published, Being muslim you automatically fall into the stereotype "terrorist." I am not a muslim, I am an Atheist, but i am pointing out your profound ingnorance towards this subject.

  • "When I started talking about God's love and how merciful and free and huge and amazing he is...."

Oh no, she wasn't preaching at all.

  • Every atheist in the world needs to be SCREAMING about this! She has every right to speak and even "preach" if she so wishes so long as her speech is not belligerent. I was not the least bit offended by the portion of this speech I heard...however this is a moot point as I do not have the right to NOT BE OFFENDED anyways! Seriously do you want to live in such a world of censorship!

  • @goobergel If that "censorship" keeps me protected from religious zealots forcing me to listen to what they have to say or face consequence, then yes, I want to live in a world with that kind of censorship.

  • Then you sir, are either ignorant our history or a total dufus. You cannot be "protected" from their speech any more than they are protected from ours. However, this is kind of a different situation. You don't have the RIGHT to give a graduation speech...the opportunity is afforded some students...and there are restrictions and guidelines that are enforced. Highschool does not constitute a free speech arena. Still, this could have been handled better.

  • @goobergel You're right about it not being a free speech arena, not for the reasons it would seem. Since her speech is sanctioned by a school policy, she is acting as an agent of the school, and the individual students would feel, regardless of reality, that the school endorsed what she was saying. Therefore, the speech would be forbidden under the establishment clause of the first amendment.

  • who is the ass that thumbed this comment down? Speaking of censorship!

  • She was speaking of how she feels about her realtionship with Christ !!!! Thats not preaching.

  • I'd be just as upset as I am had she been an atheist and had her mic cut off because Christians were offended by what she said. I wish people understood liberty. That goes for atheist and theist.

  • as soon as she started preaching...

  • God bless Brittany McComb.

  • There is no god.

  • Deluded minds? You be the judge.

Scientists will attest that Einsteins theory regarding Space/Time/and Matter is still the most profound discoveries of all time. The inherent relationship was what allowed Einstein to derive to the all famous equation: E=MC2. And if the scientists would have looked in Genesis they would have seen the first entry of the bible. "In the beginning (Time) God created the Heavens (Space) and the Earth (Matter). Scientists prove creation and prove Christianity.

  • LOL! Wow, someone is trying really hard to believe in a fairey tale.

  • Are you serious? I call Poe's Law...

  • @chuckschultz22 That is the dumbest thing I have ever read. Try that at MIT and see how it fly's. Hell try it at any community college. Thanks my day was so full of facts until I read your little bit of humor!

  • "And if the scientists would have looked in Genesis they would have seen the first entry of the bible. "In the beginning (Time) God created the Heavens (Space) and the Earth (Matter). Scientists prove creation and prove Christianity."

Caution: Theistic mind at work. LOL

  • All in all guys....just as my political science teacher said, there are extremists in every religion and country. There are always those super liberals and super conservatives. it's how it will always be. Can't win them all.

  • No, you can't win 'em all. But do you get off your ass and picket the behavior of the extremists? Do you picket your displeasure when a batshit fundy plants a bomb at an abortion clinic? Or when that man-of-love Fred Phelps pickets a funeral and says the soldier is in hell?

    I'm betting you don't.

  • I've honestly never heard of an extremist wanting to bomb an abortion clinic. :-/.

  • So you're sheltered, is what you're telling me?

You've never heard of xtian fundy Eric Robert Rudolph, who bombed Olympic Park as well as a SERIES of Abortion clinic bombings. There was also Shelley Shannon who shot Dr. Tiller,Scott Roeder who murdered Dr. Tiller, and the so called "Army of God".

Darlin, I suggest you get yourself an education in the real world. What you don't know could fill a bible.

The hilarious thing is they all think they are doing Gods work.

    What a hateful god.

  • No I haven't. And just because I didn't hear a news story doesn't mean I am not educated.

Well darlin, remember, there are a lot of psychos out there who claim they do things for God. They are crazy stupid people. No Christian goes out and bombs places or murders (thou shalt not murder, remember?).

And yes, it is hilarious that they think they are doing God's Work. Why would God call someone kill?! There you go. But you think that because they say "God" they are "Christian".

  • How can you not hear these news stories? They were leads for days.

Yes, yes, we know that the one consistent in religion is judgment. They, to you are crazy, stupid people who are not xtian, whereas to them, they think they are doing god's work. Those same people would likely judge you for being permissive with god's law.

Considering the history of killing in gods name, apparently god does want us to kill each other. More people have been killed in his name than all wars put together.

  • Yeah honestly, those are crazy people. You don't seem to get it. If I knew a Christian person who claimed God told him/her to kill somebody I would run. There's different religions out there in which God is number one in that religion or part of it: New Age, Christian Science, Scientology, etc. Not just born again Christians.

  • Yes, there are different branches of religion, all with their own dogma and practices. What's the one thing they have in common? They all fee theirs is the "right" way to worship, and they pass judgment on those who do it wrong.

They are nothing more than organized cults.

  • I suggest you make friends with people who are really Christian or at least get to personally know several because a lot of what you don't know about Christianity could also fill a Bible and then some.

  • I know people who are "really xtian". I was raised with them.

That's another excuse the righteous like to trot out. You just don't "know" any true xtians. Dearie, you don't know what I know. Don't assume. It only makes an ass out of u and, well, frankly u.

  • Then it makes me sad that they have engrained that horrible image in your mind. Just like I know that not all Muslims are crazy people who want to bomb everybody.

  • You're right, the majority of Muslims are honest hard-working folk. But they too are guilty of apathy. Where are the marches that decry terrorism?

Apathy exists in every religion. It's the one thing they have in common, other than their delusions that their fairy tale is true.

  • You are speaking of people who misrepresent Christians. Whether you know it or not, this is so you can justify to yourself staying distant from God. I can say I'm a kangaroo just as those extremists say they are a Christian. Doesn't make me a kangaroo or them a Christian. Why will you believe an extremist, when they say they are a Christian, but the one named Jesus who spoke against such violence and promoted peace you shun away and count as a liar? People lie, especially murderers.

  • *pats you*

    We're not talking about murderers.

    Thanks for playing, though.

  • You brought up the murders in your comment...and equated them to Christians. And I quote "So you're sheltered, is what you're telling me?......There was also Shelley Shannon who shot Dr. Tiller,Scott Roeder who murdered Dr. Tiller, and the so called 'Army of God'."...This was your comment. You brought it up... and I said pursuers of murder are not Christian. That was a very valid reply and it still stands as such. 2 Deaths don't make a life.

  • Too bad that Shelley Shannon and Scott Roeder would beg to differ with that remark. They are ardent xtians, who follow their faith from prison.

I know you folks like to disown those who run amok, but the sad truth is it's not up to you to pick or choose who considers themselves to be xtian or not. These people feel they have god in their heart and are doing his work.

After all, when you read the bible, he does come across as a bit of a warlord.

  • Well if you wish to stereotype...that's your decision. Your mind is already made up. You have a similar outlook to the Ku Klux Klan. Only difference is them to race and you to religion. And both of you are wrong.

  • Well, considering the Klan consider themselves to be good xtian members who are doing god's work, all I can do is shake my head and wonder why you choose to gloss over the hatred that has become synonymous with the xtian movement.

After all, the message the KKK proudly display on their site is this: Bringing a Message of Hope and Deliverance to White Christian America! A Message of Love NOT Hate!

    If only that were true.

  • Yeah, I guess you'll have to decide which description best fits what a Christian really is. The ones who wish to discriminate, hate and kill....or the ones who stand against such things? The ones who are wolves in sheep's clothing, or the ones that are merely sheep? Sheep follow their Shepherd. Wolves work to scatter the sheep and satisfy their appetites. My Shepherd is Jesus Christ. He didn't say to kill, but to forgive. He said the world would hate those who follow him. Proven

  • Are there ones who stand against such things? Where exactly? I've never seen them organize and march.

I've met the odd person who will put their money where their mouth is, but by and large they stick their heads in the sand and merely judge others as being "not xtian".

Funny you should call yourself a flock. Religion is the saddest example of group think ever witnessed. It's the cancer on humanity.

Thankfully people are waking from their stupor. Finally!

  • Actually, Raps .. you do see them from time to time in the US, but they're so few and must be extremely brave to march in .. say ... a Gay Pride parade ....

I'd say they are 5% of Xtians ... a poor showing, all the same!

  • Your definition of Xtianity would include less than 20% of those people claiming to be Xtian.

  • That's it.....you are so so so STUPID Raps. How many times do we have to tell you? JUST BECAUSE THEY SAY "CHRISTIAN" DOESN'T MEAN THEY ARE CHRISTIAN!! MANY LABEL THEMSELVES AS SUCH! THERE ARE DIFFERENT BRANCHES OF RELIGION IN WHICH THEY SERVE GOD (OR SO THEY SAY) BUT THEY AREN'T THE "BORN-AGAIN" CHRISTIANS. IT'S DIFFERENT.

  • First off, when people have to revert to the capslock of ire to make their point, it is merely proof that they are too inarticulate to make it otherwise.

Just because you shout it, doesn't make it any more true.

You do realize that if everyone who has behaved in a shitty manner was stripped of their xtianiaty, there would be no xtians left.

Born again xtians are every bit as judgmental as the rest. They just deny it more ardently.

  • And lastly, I put it in caps because you seem to fail to read the explanation that Chucks and I are telling you....

  • So tell me, ... flashback to USA pre-1860 ... what percentage of Southerners were slave-owners? And how many of them were Christian? (Answer upwards of 50% on both)

Now, today, we know (and not from the bible!) that owning another person is immoral and wrong ... so tell me about all those slave-owning Xtians ... were they "not really Christians"?

You Xtians want to claim that the bible is the inerrant word of god yet have to excuse away all kinds of atrocities in the name of Xtianity.

  • Hey raps? How would you feel if I said all gay people (mind you, I said "ALL") were a bunch of jerks who do xyz and all are the same?? All the gays I have met (this is from a personal standpoint) have been kind. Others I know felt the same way (which is fine).....but now that I have met you (via internet unfortunately) you have made me change my mind.

  • Oddly enough, many religious folks do make that assumption.

You are assuming that I am gay. You really ought not to assume. It only makes an ass out of u and ... well, quite frankly, u.

  • Well, you DID tell me you were gay.

  • Really? Where did I say that? Please find the quote.

  • But you know....as chucks said....whatever assumptions or stereotypical thoughts you want to have about religion, God, Christianity, etc, IS up to you. I apologize for the way certain so-called "Christians" made you think. I've seen it in other places and people myself. But, hey, I know that that group of people are not all like that.

  • Don't you think by you that making assumptions about Christians isn't making a fool out of you?

  • Oh please, if everyone of whom it was said "Oh, So-and-So is NOT REALLY a Chrisitan" were true, there'd be zero Christians.

Gimme a break. Nice cop-out when a Xtian does something abominable. Suddenly, that person is "not really a Xtian."

  • Thanks Chucks ;). Raps was talking to me when that comment was made.

  • So tell me what is it that makes you a Christian and the other people, people that misrepresent Christians? The fact that you believe you're a true christian? I'm pretty sure that the people that kill in the name of their religion would make the same argument, whether it be Christian or Muslim or any other religion.

  • You can tell a Christian by their actions. This is their "fruit". "No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit..."Lk 6:43&44....In essence actions speak louder than words. There is a growing sediment that Christians are evil extremists that wish to judge and even kill...nothing could be further from the truth.

  • So why don't you get off your asses and show your disgust at behavior like this?

You're right, actions do speak louder than words, and all we seem to hear from from the so called "real" xtians is nothing but the overwhelming sound of crickets.

  • We do. But people like you never want to hear about it....if it's on tv you change the channel, if it's an article, you look past it. Many people don't get interested much at times. That's why it's never shown on tv....

  • Now you're assuming you know my viewing and reading habits.

Do you know why xtian rally's don't get press? Because there aren't any.

    Nice try, junior.

  • Exactly the same way you're assuming my being Christian is associated with hypocrisy and lies and deluded minds.

  • But religion is associated with hypocrisy, lies and deluded minds.

Please find the quote where I specifically told you (as you so claimed) that I was gay.

Failure to do so, will merely prove my point.

So, stop dancing, and get looking.

  • Ah, for that, I do apologize....unfortunately, I mistook it for a conversation I was having with someone else (about gays).

  • Thank you for proving my point.

  • Deluded minds? You be the judge.

Definition of Christianity: the belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree.

  • csadler, that was a brilliant summary! I'm afraid I'm going to copy and paste that one.

  • About me getting off my rear to stop extremists: thankfully I haven't come across any. I mostly seen them on tv and they anger me. I don't have time to go and find them. And even I spoke to many of them, they wouldn't listen to me either.

  • Ah yes, the great apathy continues. You don't have time to go and find them. But you do have time to argue the rights of some fundy who got her mic cut because she tried to pontificate about jesus after clearly agreeing not to.

    Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

You know, they likely wouldn't listen to you. But it's important to speak up anyway. One voice becomes two, becomes three...

Why leave the comfort of your home to experience the dark side of religion and the hate that lays just below the surface?

  • Jesus Christ is the way. If this bothers you, than you might want to investigate just what it is that's inside you, how it got there, and why it makes you shutter when you hear the truth. More importantly, you need to rebuke such controlling spirits, and come toward repentance.

  • I have to laugh at your dumb comment ... "rebuke such controlling spirits" .. I don't believe in spooks, thank you .. and furthermore, there is not one shred of evidence that they exist.

Get a worthy cause besides trying to convince everybody needs your Imaginary Friend to be happy.

    So lame.

  • It's quite funny how you get mad. We've done nothing wrong to make you angry.

    :P

  • Religious people make me laugh ...

You pity the non-religious .. how lost they are . how unhappy and mad they are ....

Get a life, hypoChristian .. and worry about what's going on in your own back yard instead of trying to force your superstitions and hateful religion on non-believers and persons who are not interested.

  • Hmm, I don't recall shoving a Bible in your face nor did I ever try to proselytize you.

Maybe you should get a life instead of going on youtube to see religious videos & annoy Christians & other religious people. Seems like that's all you're good at. I thought you didn't believe in any of it? I don't believe in Buddha therefore I don't go to any buddhist sites. if you don't believe in Christianity, don't go on the Christian youtube channels. Simple as that. You'd be wasting your time :-/.

  • You lousy loser christian ... doing what you do best .. JUDGING! hehe ... "all you're good at" ... yeah right .. I spend 10 minutes on youtube commenting on this little liar, and suddenly it's all I'm good at.

This is not so much me bashing Christianity as it is a separation of church and state issue, which I am interested in .... and none of your concern.

If these postings upset you and make you mad, stop reading and commenting.

Or go waste your time and pray for me.

  • ::sigh:: must you always use everything i say and shoot it am me? I never judged you. Did I condemn you to hell or that you are a sinner or that you will rot, etc? No. :-/. If I did, please tell me.

What makes ME a liar and YOU the correct person though? I hear a lot of that..like all religious people are ignorant..well what makes you NOT ignorant? You laugh at religious people & that's ok, but when religious laugh at people like you with your beliefs, you guys suddenly have the right to strike?

  • I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm just curious in wondering what you believe and why, etc. This is very helpful for me so I can know more about people.

  • AWESOME girl!!!!

  • Part 2 (please tell me if you think this would be an appropriate valedictory speech):

"This is why Mohammed came to Earth. The Koran says that he came so we no longer have to reach in vain for the magnificence of the stars and fall short, so we can have life -- and life to the fullest. I now desire not my own will, but the will of Allah for my life. Strangely enough, surrendering my own will for the will of Allah, giving up control, gave me peace, I can't even begin to express with words

  • If someone gave such a speech the media would applaud them. and if anyone objected they would be branded islamophobic. Yet christians are not allowed to have free speech. That's because christians turn the other cheek but the mazlams will cut your head off. or blow up your house, or...

  • Another crybaby Christian ....

You're kidding me. Such a speech would not be allowed.

But more interestingly ... how would the audience have reacted to such a speech? I bet you there would have been a mass uproar and booing.

You fundy Xtians are not happy unless you are forcing unwilling people to listen to proselytizing of your brand of religion.

Ech! Save that for your Places of Non-Thinking (churches).

  • Oh wow...you have a lot of anger in you. I don't. Because I have Jesus :).

  • Oh please ... you dumb Christians go around thinking that only YOU can have true happiness because you have an Imaginary Friend named Jebus.

Ech! Why is it then the countries with the LEAST religious people have the LOWEST crime rates?

yes the US, who seems to love Jesus the most, has one of the WORST crime rates. On top of that .. look at the most Jesus-loving states .. in the South ... that's where the WORST US crime rates are!

Religion proving false to its power, doncha think?

  • Ha! I never said Christians think they're happy. Don't put words into what I typed down. I just merely pointed out that I have no horrifying anger, because I have Christ. Yes, I get angry (duh). Yes, I go through tough times (who doesn't?).

Well non-believers always want proof? Why?

-- I'd rather believe in God and later be told he wasn't real then to live a life without believing anything and then finding out he was real after all.

  • "-- I'd rather believe in God and later be told he wasn't real then to live a life without believing anything and then finding out he was real after all."

What a jewel of a comment you wrote there!

LOL ... you'd rather "believe" (and have no proof, just have BLIND faith) ... than be tortured and burned in HELL when you die, huh?

Believe in God or he will torture you for eternity!

Some "nice" god you worship, huh?

  • You see? You laugh at me. But when I laugh at you, it's suddenly not ok....not cool. But I won't laugh or "lol" anything you say. Because it's not material to be mocked at. It's things that people should listen to. The more you say, the better it is for me. And what's that whole "believe in God or he will torture you for eternity" thing about? I never said that (?). And Christians don't believe that God will torture people in hell so I don't know where you got that information from.

  • "It's not material to be mocked at"

You religious people think your religious beliefs should not be criticized. Sorry, but this is America. We have the right to criticize anything!

You don't know where we get the information that "God will torture people in hell"?

You're kidding me, right? It's common knowledge that most Christians believe that story.

Back up and reread some of your comments. You DO believe non-Christians are lost with out Jesus and your god. I find that insulting

  • Ok perfect, then I have the right to criticize you then.

  • but of course you can ... that's the basis of a spicy discussion ...

The word "hell" appears all over the bible . even though I personally believe the words in Greek and Hebrew used (Sheol and gehenna) do not mean an eternal place of torture.

You can't deny that MOST Xtians DO believe in hellfire. Look at any of the comments on youtube videos bashing gay people .. according to 90% of Xtians' comments, gays are going to hell!

  • Heheh, it is quite the basis of a spicy discussion, I'll tell ya :).

Honestly, you are well-studied (I like that). Of course, as a Christian, I believe in hell (if I didn't, then I wouldn't be Christian). And just as you do, I try to use the Greek & Hebrew lexicon (very accurate to the original translations). The word definitely appears throughout the Bible, I have seen many Christians actually take Sheol either literally or figuratively (depends on the demonination). Cont'd on next message...

  • Some even take the whole term about the flames literally or even symbolically.

I personally do not agree with bashing gays. Of course I do not agree with the lifestyle, but hey, they are people too & killing them or doing mean things to them is not right either. A close friend of mine is gay & I love him to death. Many non-Christians are "homophobic", too. Don't forget that. :-/.

  • My "life" is not a "lifestyle" . as if i chose to whom I am sexually and emotionally attracted. Only straight people like you who are stubborn refuse to entertain the idea that sexual orientation is not "chosen."

My "lifestyle" is the same as any other human being ... one difference from that of heterosexuals is that I am in a long-term relationship with a person of the same sex. Everything else is the same ... we have jobs, a house, a "life", etc.

  • I am sorry if I used "lifestyle", it's the word I've heard used everywhere. I know you are normal in terms of jobs, etc. My friend (the one who I mentioned is gay) works in downtown Chicago, has a partner, and he helped in my wedding. All my friends love him. He was gay, then turned Christian but felt it wasn't for him and left. Did we shun him? Nope :). I love him. He's awesome. And I just hope you can see that not all Christians are "homophobic" & stuff. I'm sure NOT.

  • By claiming gay is a lifestyle, are you then assuming straight is a lifestyle?

Yes, many non xtians are homophobic, but oddly enough, it's the churches who are spending millions and millions of dollars to fight against gay marriage. Money that could be given to help the poor.

Apparently hate and exclusion is more important to churches than helping those less fortunate.

  • Umm, my church spends its money on paying the light and gas bills and helping the less fortunate in my church (there are a lot of them). I know because I help out in my church.

  • You likely don't know where all money raised for churches goes. It's not something they openly share. But they do like to hide their spending behind trick words, like "supporting family values".

Just because you volunteer doesn't make you privy to where every single penny goes.

    That is a ridiculous statement.

  • You see? what the point of telling you anything if all you're going to do is shoot it back at me? You have nothing else to say to defend yourself other than using what I say. you're the one with ridiculous statements.

you said Christian churches raise money to get rid of gays. I tell you my side about MY church & then you still get mad. That's on you. I know where the church money goes. I can list down everything they have to pay for. And believe me, it's a lot (especially nowadays).

  • That's because you speak from a point of ignorance.

You volunteer at your church and assume you are privy to every expense the church dolls out?

    Don't be deluded.

    I thought you were leaving.

  • And what makes you think you aren't speaking from a point of ignorance? Just because you rely on science?

  • You see, the thing with Science is it sets out to disprove it's own theories. When all of the arguments run out, and the theory still stands, then it is accepted as truth.

With religion, it is exactly the opposite. They start with stories, claim them to be true, and then argue any fact that says otherwise as a lie, without actually proving proof that would support their position.

Gods are traditionally very fragile things - traditionally they are killed off by the first whiff of science.

  • Ah, ok. So you don't rely on science all too much. Interesting.

Regarding the comment on science & gods (in this case: God) remember, scientists have been trying to prove the nonexistence of God for years to no avail. Alister McGrath (historical theologian) put it like this "If the scientific method can neither prove nor disprove the existence or nature of God, then either we abandon the question as unanswerable [Richard Dawkins certainly chooses NOT to do] or we answer it on other grounds."

  • Watch Alister McGrath debate Richard Dawkins. You're attempting to claim that somehow the burden of proof lies in disproving something in existence instead on the people claiming it to be in existence. Can you disprove flying purple and yellow unicorns? No. But because you cannot disprove them, does that give any merrit to the claim that purple and yellow unicornd exist? No. The lack of evidence is not evidence.
