  • End the Fed??

  • Thorium, anyone?

    (^__^ )

  • Remember??

    watch?v=1YeA9C9ylQ0&feature=related

Are you going to fall for it again?

  • @Minethis1 First of all, Y2K was over-hyped by the media, not computer scientists. Second of all, it was very easy to test a system by simply changing the date (before hand) and to see what would happen, systems that failed were updated. OTOH, right NOW, we are conducting an experiment with our biosphere, the only one in the universe known to support life. Does that sound like a good idea to you?

  • @christo930 Also, look on google maps in the middle east and you will see all of these circular spots that are either green or brown. What they are is food production circles that were watered with "fossil water, meaning from underground aqua-firs that take millennia to fill. The green ones haven't depleted the water, the brown ones are abandoned because the fossil water under the ground ran out.

  • @christo930 yea it was over blown much like today when the world is coming o an end! Your so naive!

  • @Minethis1 Who says the world is coming to an end? Does not the twin signals of High oil prices and flat production tell you something? Hundreds of societies have collapsed throughout our history and if we did collapse (I am not saying we will), we will just be 1 in a long line of collapsed societies. The Chinese are just getting started and India too, do you think there is enough oil production capacity to keep up with all of our demands and grow forever?

  • @christo930 Other than a game changer like fusion, our energy consumption is going to continue it's relentless march downward as it has been since the 1970's(per capita)

  • @Minethis1

Nobody is telling you to prepare. If you don't see the risks, then Don't do anything. But don't think you will get my resources if you are wrong. I have family members like you who I have to feed first. Sorry.

  • @christo930 Don't forget to be prepared for when the Soviets Nuke us and when the Iraqis invade us. Don't worry in 2012 a commit Will crash into earth and kill us all!

  • @Minethis1 I don't believe in conspiracy theories or think that anyone other than a terrorist group would ever nuke the US, and a terrorist group could only, at absolute best, hit maybe three cities with <10kt bombs.

  • @christo930 LOL! Forgot your paranoia meds today I see! Boo!

  • @Minethis1 Do you have a masters degree in strawman arguments and ad-hominem rhetoric? Nobody said the world was going to end. I would LOVE to see you refute peak oil, especially given the 1 million new wells drilled in the US during the 70s while production fell 3-5% per year. We drilled more wells in the 70's than all of history and only managed to slow the descent. Despite massive drilling and exploration, we are down about 50% since the peak in 1970. This is indisputable.

  • @christo930 Refute peak oil? Easy innovation!

  • @Minethis1 So innovation is going to overcome physics and geology? Every single oil field ever found and produced, produced the bell curve or Hubbert's peak What is true for one field is true for groups of fields, nations and the world..

  • @christo930 YUP! Look up Fracking! That wasn't possible either!

  • @Minethis1 Fracking helps and I am glad they are doing it, but it isn't going to be enough (or as cheap) as conventional oil which comes up under it's own pressure and is of high quality. You sound like a French person in 1939 or a Jew in Berlin in 1932 or a New Orleans resident in 2004 or a Fukashima resident in 2010.

  • @christo930 Of course its not going to be enough! Nothing will be enough to fill your endless amount of fear instilled in you by YouTube fear mongering wana be economists. You chose to allow other to impose barriers in your mind which creates fear and hopelessness. You have to overcome that idiotic thought process! Nothing was faster than light a few months ago! Guess what? Today it is possible! Stop listening to these idiots who try to profit from your ignorance and fear! Be smarter

  • @Minethis1 Has 40 years of technology raised the US oil production? Technology is great, but it isn't going to solve every problem, no all problems have a solution. Up until 2005, nobody in New Orleans thought it could happen, but it did and technology didn't solve that problem Nobody ever thought real-estate could drop nation wide, but it did.. What if a war broke out between Iran and Israel? It's not exactly a 0 probability event, but do you know what it would do to the oil market?

  • @christo930 It's about risk assessment. We have bet our collective future on a single commodity that is largely concentrated in a small, remote and unstable part of the world. I have not personally taken any steps, so nobody has gotten any money off of me, but it is still something to consider. I guess you deny AGW as well?

  • @christo930 1 Yes it has!

    2. Nothing would happen! You would get a spike in oil and than drop off. We Lost Libya 2% of the World Oil and the result was? NOTHING! Since when did the US buy Oil from Iran or Israel?

You are allowing other to put barriers in your mind to fulfill their agenda! The Last thing I worry about is Energy! We have more than enough energy. CM is full of shit! Don't allow other to put barriers in your mind! Be Smart look for your self. BTW Merry Xmas ;)

  • @Minethis1 Oil is priced internationally. If a war broke out between Iran and Israel, for example, it would cause would wide shortages which effects oil price no matter where it is produced. NO, it hasn't. The US is down to about 1/2 of it's peak production despite all the new amazing technology since 1970 when we peaked. It's not an energy problem, it's a liquid fuels problem.

  • @christo930 You need to read what I wrote again. Yes Oil would Spike! But quickly there after it would fall again. Yes Oil is Priced Globally! Look at Brent over WTI. BNO is 20% higher. Why? We use ZERO Iranian Oil! Libya is 2% of the Global output went PUFF! That means Oil we actually used stopped what happen to Oil prices? Nothing went to 100 and dropped off! Did it go to $150or higher? Nope! After we smack Iran in the Mouth we would actually have more oil available to us not Less!

  • @Minethis1 Because of the way oil moves through Cushing,OK, brent usually trades at a premium anyway. It doesn't matter if we use Iranian oil or not, oil is (largely) priced internationally. If the Strait of Hormuz was shut down (and it would be if Iran and Israel had an incident), it would effect world wide oil prices no matter where it was produced. Smacking Iran in the mouth would take over 4MB/D off the market and over 2MB/D off of the international market.

  • @christo930 You need to understand Oil is not the limiting factor. Technology is the Limiting factor! When We discover more efficient methods to drill deeper cheaper we will once again reset Peak oil and than again reset and again reset. You see the Martini glass analogy ONLY apply with today technology not tomorrows tech. You are smart person don't fall for this doom and gloom crap! Cm is just a cheap salesman trying to earn a buck man Why can't you see that is beyond me.

  • @Minethis1 I don't mean to sound like an ass, but your thinking is very juvenile. Things go wrong all the time and not all problems have solutions. It's fun to fantasize what may be possible, but we shouldn't base our lives around the assumption that everything we want to happen will happen. Maybe some miracle technology comes along, maybe we can make a new peak in oil production, but should we base national policy on that assumption? Is that even a good idea, considering AGW?

  • @christo930 If CM's only motivation was to make money off of me, he has failed miserably.

  • @Minethis1

Right, thnking happy thoughts will trump reality?. Mindless confidence doesn't change anything but keeps people stupid & unprepared . That is not smart. Knowing the reality is best & then getting on with your life after you have made preparations as best you can. Your type thinks we shouldn't have home or car insurance because those risks are unlikely too?

  • @dishesdealer417 My friend you can define what ever you want as reality. You chose to believe the Limits that CM poses in your head. Fine with me. Enjoy it. I do not. What used to take the entire population to feed themselves now only takes 3% of the population. Good luck trying to convince those people back than that this would be the norm! You are no different than those people back than. So keep listening to this Clowns claims. Remember Hyper was coming? Where is it Poncho???

  • @assilvertried7x There are rivers all over the world that don't even reach the sea anymore because of dams and irrigation. Because of climate change, many of these rivers, especially in Asia are going to run dry because the glaciers that feed them are receding.Yes, sanitation is important, but conservation is also important. Desalinization requires HUGE amounts of energy.

  • @christo930 "Desalinization requires HUGE amounts of energy."

    How much?

  • @hitssquad 5 kWh of energy per cubic metre of fresh water produced. I think we can agree that conservation is much cheaper than desalinization.

  • @assilvertried7x

    Drinking from a rain puddle?

  • @assilvertried7x Clean potable water is much rarer than you think and there are shortages of potable water all over the world. Water is something you need pretty much every day, a few days without and you will die.
