I wish I had that motor. I run a stock lt1 with a blower...Thats all. It will beat a stock ZR1 but my goal for mine is to beat the new z06. I love corvettes...
They started making the ZO6 between 2002 and 2004. I don't remember for sure. But it had the LS6. the funny thing is that GM is almost out of LS's The only numbers they haven't used are 8 and 5. LOL. I like the LS9 the most for some odd reason.
If you go old school, GM has used an LS-5 it was the designation of the 360 HP 454 in 1970.
The new LS-9 is just incredible. Also in 70' they had an LS-6 454 w/ 450hp. Plus they had an LS-7 planned, but was axed due to coming federal regulations, it would have had 600+ HP.
from 2001 to 2004 chevy used an LS6 engine in their high performance model Z06 corvettes... the 2001 model year Z06 ran about 385hp/385ft.lbs. and for 2002-2004 they ran 405hp/400ft.lbs. for the 2006 year Z06's they used the new 505hp LS7...
All this engine talk is getting me excited. Time to take the Moto4 for a spin(it's all I have, but an 80cc single cyl from 85' with an 8k redline is a joyous sound too.)
If you had any reading skills you would know that the Z06 is NOT the same as ZR-1. The ZR-1 engine is a DOHC 4VPC 350 CID / 5.7 Liter Motor. THE LT5 - Produced in cooperation with the British Auto Maker - Lotus. This was the high water mark of American Motor Sports. The redline here makes Hondas look like lawnmowers... Wait a minute...
Hey haha, in our garage we've got an LS1, LS5, LS6 and an LS7 lol. Just need to get a GTO and a new c6 convert or somethin and polish off the collection. Unfortunately with an ls9 out the Z06 really needs a trade in
Amazing, amazing, amazing! Nothing sounds better than a chevy v8 screaming through a tunnel. This video is the reason I love v8s. I have an LS6 z06, myself. :D
LOL!!!! And thats the stock ZR-1 sound.

First off, if you had a z06 which I doubt; it would have a LS7 motor not an LS6-no such thing retard

They actually did use it as a warranty replacement engine in some LS-6 cars.

You just made a complete fool out of yourself with your comment. Do your homework first before you pretend to know what your talking about.

What's the redline on the 90's ZR1. The new one is at 6800.
mikeb1444 4 years ago
