  • Where did you find a chevy that had two stick transmission? They produce that from factory?

  • Shit..I can barely pull off one stick 5 speed :D

  • Want a challenge? Take off on the side of a hill in a Mack w/ Duplex...

  • That shift pattern is just stupid! But in a cool way kind of... Haha

  • Sounds AMAZING. Love it

  • Great vid! Doing the double shifting would definitely take some major skill! Nice job

  • i cant see why g m didnt put the detroits in all there trucks to begin with

  • and nice shiftin my man.

  • keep that hammer down and that diesel smokin son

  • I need to find a Detroit now lol and that conversion kit lol

  • I don't like Gm trucks but I would get this beast.

  • @mattbod 2stoke is a fuck lot simpler than 4stroke, maybe you should learn the difference

  • like a boss

  • How much did it cost to put that motor and trans into that truck?

  • @N4ANE your not illiterate since you were able to form a question, but why can't you read a description?

  • @jsheeran13 why dont you shove you dick up your ass hole and quit being a ass to people and for you info dick head the sentence was complete maybe you cant read

  • @N4ANE Like I said, you WERE ABLE TO form a question. I never said your sentence wasn't complete ( though I probably should after your last comment, there wasn't a single capital letter, comma, period, or sentence). Did you read the description like I mentioned originally?

  • @jsheeran13 Hey shit brick if you would look up there you would see that the first word is how with a capital and to the is a ? there at the end so there for there is no need for a period.

  • @N4ANE LOL is your keyboard broke? "and to the is a ? there" What is that supposed to mean? I was no longer talking about your first question, I was referring to the lack of grammar in your second reply.

  • @jsheeran13 yes basically my keyboard is broke and for the ? stands for question mark and since when did you have to use proper grammar do you talk using proper grammar?

  • @mrloveforever117 So it's not like a 10-Speed... You don't go 1 thru 4 shift the back box and go back to 1 (which would be 5th).

  • Wouldn't this be an 8-speed? 4-speed transmission with a 2-speed (high/low) back box...you can split all four gears...

  • @Neil1Blair Yep, you are right. 8 available forward gears.

  • @Neil1Blair It's still a 4+2 though, to be an 8-speed all 8 would have to be in the same tranny.

  • It's an interesting engine but i have never understood the advantages of these very complicated two stroke Diesels over a conventional 4 stroke.

  • @mattbod i cant see how they are more complicated, they are indeed more finicky although

  • @mattbod the answer is a lot of torque for a smaller engine. So less weight, more power, half the capacity. E.g a v6 detroit in the day wouldve been like a v12 international, or however you want to put it :)

  • must be hard to drive in traffic lol but i love it

  • Very cool! No doubt a lot of work went into that truck.

  • I love it! Just never let a woman drive!

  • Loved the vid. Thanks! It makes driving my 5 speed 6 cylinder diesel MB wagon seem pretty straight forward.Do you know how much torque the motor makes? What RPM?

  • I want it....

  • 2 stroke? cool..

  • how did you get a 4 in downpipe, i was told they didnt make any and mine is a 93. i have to make my own 4 inch exhaust to my stacks, and itll have to be from the downpipe back using a exhaust adapter

  • And how much cyl?

  • And max speed is?

  • That truck sounds awesome! :D

  • This is a setup for men (or girls with hairy chests....).

Why go automatic when You as in this case, actually need to use the brain for driving.....

Have a friend who has this type of engine running an emergecy power station.

Cold starting that thing sounds like putting all of the heavy tools I have, in a cast iron tumble dryer....

But it runs really nice once it gets warmed up!

  • guy has a shifting seizuer at 3:44 XD

  • this truck sucks it needs alot of work

  • @hamedsalimabadi what do you drive, a fucking p.o.s ricer, that truck is mint. take a step back and fuck your own face hole

  • @hamedsalimabadi : What are you, Stupid!?

  • excellent !

  • it might take me a while to memorize the shift pattern on that

  • That is a neat swap. I like that the A/C was even retained. Does it have some sort of vacuum pump for the power assist on the brakes?

  • I have the truck now and i have the engine apart in my shop overhauling it. Will put up a new video when its complete in a few weeks.

  • dream truck

  • how many gears did ya skip??????and be honest

  • Hey do u have pics of the tranny set up id like to build a truck like thus!

  • Holy shit and I thought I could drive stick!

  • @dpx1080 you can! I though I could too until I drove a 5-ton and kept stalling it...

  • an whas the MPG? :)

  • @gravityaddikt like 2 lol

  • @gravityaddikt 19 mpg it's in the description

  • @LeeLeefritz93 OW! haha thank you as it seems either my mind or my eyes have deceived me unfortunately i think its both... whew .. well thats better than a 350! not much... but shes gonna last alot longer thas for sure... damn nice conversion... I'm jealous..

  • * guy in ford stops! oh! some dingle berry left a camera on the side of the road!? nah jus kiddin man.. hehe what kind of tractor did that come from?

  • that's cooler than shit

  • how many speeds does it have

  • How much did it sell for?

  • i suppose it is a synchronized box, or is it? Otherwise it'll be a real hassle to use in a city with that too to worry about... :\

  • sounds like a fire truck

  • What trans is that ??

  • Wanna sell it? She's a rare breed, the old 2-stroke diesels...

  • Very cool man,

  • this guy knows how to use that box.. and i bet it was tough to get used to.

  • man id love to have that..

  • sweet truck, would love to build something like that

  • by the way, how well does her pan start at cold? never seen a live 2-stroke diesel, but I'd think the compression pressure wud be very low when starting.. and that matter combined with freezing cold air wud make the driver swear :P but dats just my guess.

  • @moptim they can be hard to start, hell ive seen ones that were freshly rebuilt that needed either to start... but once they get rolling over in the cold they run fine

  • what a form of art this car is.. love the smoke, love the double gearbox conf, love its sound, etc.. :P

  • Yo dawg! We heard you like stick shifts! so we put a stick shift behind yo stick shift so you can shift while you shift!

  • @yerfdog95

Hey Dawg, That was a poor attempt at being funny.... Made no sense Dawg..

  • @yerfdog95 woah bro,save it for 4chan

    u mad bro?

  • Sounds really great.

  • i would so have bought that...itd be the yin to my 87 silverados yang

  • What is the correct shifting pattern for a 4-2?

  • thats sweet ... how many of these trucks did they make with the dual shift ... and turbo diesel???

  • @84chevyguy none...thats total custom job

  • @hundvonkrieg thought soo but thanks man i wanna do something like that but with a mopar motor in my truck with a dual shift lol

  • @84chevyguy Shitloads, they're everywhere.

  • @84chevyguy I know they made at least 2 because at 2:21 another one just like it drives by just a few seconds after the first one

  • @rrip1 ur dumb thats the same truck.....

  • That is freakin awesome!!!!

  • Interesting! I've never seen a model like that one before!

  • What a bunch of "rednecks"!!!!!

  • Why?

  • that things a pain in the ass to work on lol, does the 2 speed just make a high and low side to every gear on the 4 speed ?

  • that things a pain in the ass to work on lol

  • Nice smooth shifting.

  • Thsi is my favorite shift 2 sticks at a time forward!!!!! (Im thinking wdf is he high then i look at it and he in a truck, and i go OoooOo) --_--

  • I want it!! that is the sweetest thruck ever! i may be a ford man and i drive a 6 spd 7.3 powerstroke but that truck sounds and looks so sweet with the detroit especially being a 2 stroke

  • Truly amazed, wonderfull piece of history

  • 11 people drive toyota prius's

  • do you need to have 2t oil in the diesel?

  • thats not 2 stroke... wtf!?!?!?!

  • @vegaquarker Yes it is. Look at his other videos.

  • 4-53T actually

  • I had a buddy that had a 453 in his 65 Chevy C20

  • So the dude in the Ranger stops and gets a free camera! Man that truck sound friggin awesome!

  • not really understanding the 2 sticks..when i read it i thought of a high range and a low range...

  • Fuck the environment! My car sounds cool.

  • Is this a 4 cylinder?

  • @Michael6609 Yes, it has 4 cylinders and each displaces 53 cubic inches. If it was a 6-71 it would be a 6 cylinder engine with 71 cubic inches for each.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!

  • I had no idea they used 2 strokes for diesels... do you have to add oil to the fuel like gas 2 strokes?

  • @dracdrum diesel is a natural lubricant so they didnt add oil

  • @dracdrum Hahaha, No you don't add oil to a two stroke diesel because diesel fuel is oil. It practicly lubricates its self. Hope this helps.

  • @dracdrum Oil isn't added to the fuel because it has an oil pan. 2 strokes such as chain saws use mixed fuel because they don't have oil pans. The diesel is not used as a lubricant, it has a pressurized oil system just like any other engine.

  • @rrip1 it doesnt need Oil becuz the fuel is oil !

  • @diezbassist You've just got to tell me just what exactly the diesel is lubricating during the millisecond it's in the cylinder before it burns. It lubricates nothing more than the injectors & the pump. But since you're so certain of this falacy, go ahead and drain your oil pan and let the diesel lubricate your engine & let me know how everything goes for you. And please tell me what the purpose of the crankcase is on the Detroit diesel.

  • @diezbassist Come on are you that stupid a 2 stroke detroit has a crank case with engine oil. m look at any on the planet and prove me wrong !

  • @67bigblk Thank God, 67bigblk for backing me up on this. I would never have imagined that anyone who knows about cars would even consider diesel lubricating a crank, rods, cam, & everything else. The only thing it could possibly lube would be the top of the cylinders.

  • @diezbassist You're an idiot.

  • I have a feeling that you will miss that truck.

  • how much was this for sale for?

  • THIS IS A TRUCK AND THE REST ARE PEANUTS

  • we hav a 73 gmc general with a 6v92

  • I love that truck!!!

  • how much can you buy a truck like that for

  • what kind of mpg do you get with that setup??

  • I would like put on of those detroit diesels in a 1975 Chevrolet Silverado 1/2 ton.

  • the good old Gutless Detroit 2 stroker piston burner. They sound like no other. We still have a couple oooold public service mini buses running around town blasting massive billows of all colors of smoke. You can't miss them just look up and follow the tral of smoke and listen for them screaming wide open to get their asses p a hil haha. Good old engines though, true Icons those old bastards. I love your mod and install, you got the sticks set up real nice too they work well. Cheers IC.

  • I know nothing about cars and such, so please forgive me, but i'm curious, since it's a 2 stroke (which is obviously better than a 4 stroke), does it pass emissions and such, or is it for private property fun?

  • @wabashofutah I don't think emissions would be an issue if you have a well tuned engine and comply with state regulations. Asking if it will pass emissions is a loaded question as some states will require different exhaust components while othersnothing more than just a clean running engine, some will allow you to get away with certain get out of jail free crds for the age of the egnine, class of engine ect. It just varys on the state ect. Most of the time it just needs to burn clean only.

  • damn. ford needs a Cat engine, chevy needs detroit, and dodge already has cummins so theyre good

  • very cool!

  • Sooooooo stinking cool! I have my grandfathers that he bought in 76. Sierra Classic Camper Special. I want to convert it to a 4x4 and diesel. Sigh....will get there eventually!

  • can u put that motor behind a chevy transmission.... i have a 86 chevy 1ton 4wheel

drive. dont wanna loose the 4x4.. would like it install one of the motors behind it....

  • killer build! loved the video. always joked around about doing this. now i see someone already did! back to the drawing board. haha

  • Very cool video! So neat what people come up with.

  • They made automatics so people could eat hamburgers.

  • @stopglobalswarming you got some kinda problem with hamburgers?

  • That transmission must've been in great shape, 'cuz it shifts much smoother than I've seen in others like it.

  • whoever designed that transmission was a dumbass.... but i love those 2 stroke diesel's

  • That's the most fun you can have on a little screamin' jimmy and a 4+2 twin stick truck..great shifting..

  • @MysticDMBherb lmfao..

  • @MysticDMBherb You too… I knew a couple in high school that could pull off the 3+ at a time, but I was scared I'd get something you couldn't wash off from them…lol.

  • @MysticDMBherb they available???? lol

  • @MysticDMBherb------- i dont :(

  • @TheCampbellnator Why the frown? Nobody wants a slut

  • @MysticDMBherb --------- i do :(

  • @MysticDMBherb Im not too sure about 2 sticks with one hand though...

  • @Bamchucknorris not hard you just switch between them when shifting

  • @protectoroffaith Haha you didnt get my joke, look at mystic's post and then mine.

  • @MysticDMBherb ya me too it's called skiing.

  • @MysticDMBherb ski patrol

  • Screamin' Demons kick ass!

  • Thatlooks like so much fun. America these days....make good stuff again!

  • That truck sounds sexy. Oh how I want one.

  • great truck.

  • is this factory i want one

  • WoW! SOLD? Wish I had the $ to buy! Out of the seven 18 wheelers I've owned, 3 were "Screaming Jimmy's" My favorite being a 1968 GMC tilt cab "Cracker Box" w/tiny sleeper berth. 8V71NA (318) w/ 13 speed Roadranger, and twin screw Rockwell back boxes. That was one FUN truck!

Hope it was sold to a "good home" :)

  • Thats some nice shifting, but makes me like my 6-speed Allison even more.

  • The auxiliary is a ranger 2 speed splitter

  • nice video and a fantastic engine............where and what type is the aux 2 speed you have in it?

  • 3:55-4:40 => This is the most beautiful shifting gear I have ever seen in my life.

  • My mate doesn't believe that there is such thing as a two stroke diesel

  • i counted only 6 speeds as you accelerated, i would think you had 8 if you have a 4 speed and a 2 speed, i expected it to be like a 4 speed with low and high range. could you post a video of this transmission explaining how you shift it?

  • @Starfleet0 He's not towing anything, or going fast enough to go through all 8 gears. Skips 3 high and 4 high.

  • It shouldn't smoke when you rev it. The rack needs to be adjusted.

  • I WANT ONE!!! haha

  • very nice car i know it from kuwait

  • وش السالفة ؟؟!!

  • @alnofaly88KSA كله تمام

  • how much power and touque

  • @Bradygoodz reallly??? mine to!!!! wicked!!!

  • @86godsmack hmmmm. small world.. we could be related haha

  • Did your friends call you old smokie? :P

    lol

  • love it.. Seems like a challenge to drive with the shifing ab all.. nice car

  • How was the top end on the highway could it do 70

  • I LOVES IT

  • Holyshit that thing sounds just like the 8v92's we use in our big-rigs in the Army!! Thats the nastiest friggen pickuptruck I've seen in my life. I love it.

    Those Detroits sound amazing!!!

  • I love watching the gear shifts from 1lo right on to 4hi all in one go. So cool! What tonage was that truck? I saw in a comment you said compared to a 454 so im assuming 3/4 or 1 ton?

  • Guy I talked to today had one of these! lost a lot of his mid range hearing supposedly from it.... Doesn't seem much louder than my 60' IH

  • I want this truck....

  • what is the point of having an aux trans? and how are you supposed to shift it? (like what pattern?) thanks for a great video!
