I had similar experience in 2011. Bought a boat, engine and trailer from what i thought was a serious company. I had delivered something quite different from what they showed me on photos and informed me by e-mail. The trailer was basically eaten up by rust, the boat had water inside and the engine was not functioning. When i complained, supported by detailed photos and statements Youngs boatyard ( Jonathan Ebbitt ) rejected any complaint - sating i could take them to court if i wanted to :(
Yep, youngs are bang out of order, thank god people like yourself do care for other boat users. thank you for posting message DolpthinsCome2Wales. Like you said, most boat yards if not 99% of them are good people, it only takes on bad yard to mess everything up. You are very right to raise your concerns and again thank you.

A used MOREBASS DL4600 fitted with a MARINER 40HP ENGINE WITH DOUBLE AXEL TRAILER was bought from 'YOUNG'S BOAT YARD, SWANSEA. SHE WAS TOLD BY YOUNG'S via telephone, in person with witnesses present there was nothing wrong with boat, trailer or engine. However; in reality this was not the case. AT NO TIME YOUNG'S BOAT YARD TELL CUSTOMER THERE WAS MAJOR LIFE THREATENING DEFECTS TO BOAT HULL, ENGINE HAD FAULTS AND BOATS TRAILER HAD BENT AXEL! BOAT PACKAGE WAS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE!
