This demo is fantastic. I wish that all demos were done this well. Playing a variety of guitars and no useless whaling. I appreciate that you predominately played percussively and nice big open chords-this really helps us to hear what the amplifier actually sounds like.
Too ..modern and distortion heavy for my 60s style. I'll stick with my Ghia. Dr.Z makes great amps and in all fairness it's likely that even I could find good usable tones with this high-octane amp.
Evanfrmheaven is either deaf, stupid or both. Either way he is a poor lost soul who has no clue what good tone is. He is just a follower who buys whatever the guitar magazine says sounds good. Anyways, I've yet to meet a person who demoed a dr z in a store and didn't buy one.(unless of course they didn't have the money for it)
Thanksfor the quick replys... Great service and I think great amps. Wish I could play more of them but I cant find them anywhere. Just used from time to time.... Never knew you were in Maple Hts. Do you do amp service on other amps?
@El83Er Im sorry, but quite serious, i have a number of great tube amps that blow the tinny tone of a Z amp away, they might be great for the kiddies to practice in there rooms, but are no place for these Z amps on the band stand.
Yeah, okay. I've been to your Youtube channel... sounds like typical sh##y bar music. If you put the GT next to your vintage crap, it would eat it for breakfast. Brad Paisley tours the world with Zs, so you can keep your amazing tube amp tone.

none dude. These amps are not in any way suited for metal. These are country-blues-rock-hard rock amps. Have a look at ENGL or Diezel if you are interested in an amp for metal. IMO they are just as high quality as Dr. Z except they are very high gain metal amps.
your lookin at it. either this or the galaxy, i play some pretty heavy stuff...system of a down...rage against the machine, stuff like that. it gets the job done.
This is the best all around amp I've ever played. So responsive. If I hadn't already had my one kidney robbed in hong kong I'd sell a kidney to get one.
I couldn't live any kinda musician's life without my Z Mazerati. The tone knob is so musical. Turn it down cut highs while boosting sweet lows. Turn it up... cut lows while boosting highs and upper mids. It's something only someone with an ear, taste and knowledge could design.

@cap217cap217
This was done at Noise Floor. It's the old 609 studio.

Dr. Z.... I came across ne of these in a combo. You dont sell these though. Was this a special order? Im from Cleveland but found it in Vegas.

@cap217cap217
The original Mazerati was available as a combo. The GT is only available as a head.

This amp sounds great, but what amp in the Dr z line could get this same tone but with more watts? SRZ 65??

Thank you !
Obviously Dr.Z is great for rock'n''roll. But for heavy i will get Peavey. Someday i will try to rock on a Dr.Z amp :-)

sounds thin and wimpy.

@evanfrmheaven
Computer speakers and you tube's audio compression makes everything thin and wimpy.

@drzamps
Very true, this amp is by no means thin or wimpy.
I played one of these once and almost ran out of the store with it. This is a seriously amazing amp.

Get a decent sound card and a pair of half decent near field monitors and it'll sound great

@TheCrystalyne I don't know, I have played one and I cant get the amp to sound like a tube amp, just sounds like a Marshall 900.

very thick like a milkshake...I'd wonder what a Les Paul with some p-90's might sound like going through this amp . I bet it would sparkle.

That tone with the LP sounds like it'd be good for some Zep.

Probably Z's own cab. I put my money on "Z Best 2x12 closed back" or similar.
I would love to hear MAZ-18 or this Mazerati GT thru Mojotone 2x12" cab equipped with TonyTubby speakers.
