@pschweitzer I'm guessing you don't know much about newborns. They cannot regulate their temperature like adults/children can. When they first come out, they are all wet from the blood and amniotic fluid. They have to quickly be dried off to avoid a dangerous drop in temperature from being wet in a cold hospital room.

I don't disagree that it's helpful for mothers to be in order to get a real handle on whats going to happen. There are websites specifically dedicated to helping moms prepare complete with pictures, video, explanations, relaxation tips and even ways to find a doula. I just feel like its a very private moment . Also, I wonder how the child is going to feel in a few years knowing her birth is posted on youtube for thousands of people to see.

umm ok im no expert at giving birth but ppl say the it feels more comfortable to give birth in a hospital because there are more prepared during emergency, i guess. but birthing cneters are more likely to have pools, only some hospitals do. plus it depends on if you give birth on time...

other than that. plz dont take what im saying into deep consideration because ive never given birth myself b4. lol.

ive had kids... hospital is advisable as previously mentioned, for emergencies... you can hire home birth pools for water birth in most places, hospitals offer them at no charge... you can have gym mats, bean bags, the bed, chairs or you can stand.... my advice would be to seek out a desirable hospital and ask the midwifery team what facilities they have.
