Awesome--my favorite Tom Waits tune, and better for being on vinyl. One thing, though-it's not good for your receiver to have a turntable directly on top of it, and it's not good for your turntable to have a receiver directly underneath it--if it's just for the video then don't mind me. Amazing, though, that such a kick-ass banjo part can have so few notes, huh?
Wow, great vinyl! Josh is correct, you should separate those components. I have that exact Marantz amplifier. It's a workhorse and worth a few bucks but keep it cool.
its true they are the same. what they put on cd's is what they put on lp's is the same audio. the only difference is your Amplifier. or your DA converters. if you buy a record player. find a good amp. thats why lp's sound awesome. plus its a fun process dropping needles. and discovering b sides.
post script. i wake up to this song every day at 4 in the morning.
lps record exact sound waves while cds do digital interpretations of sound
just like film records pictures by the reaction from light hitting film and a digital records measurements of light and then creates an image out of them
*Love* this song, mingusthecat! Thank you very much --- I've had a copy of Rain Dogs for years, but don't have access to it right now. I sing the song all the time, especially that line about "rain like gravel on a old tin roof", but I needed my memory of the other verses refreshed a bit. Grazie!

Lps are to cds as film cameras are to digital.

Took a hundred dollars off a slaughterhouse Joe
and bought a brand new Michigan 20-guage
Got all liquored up on that roadside corn
and blew a hole in the hood of a yellow Corvette
He bought a second hand Nova from a Cuban Chinese,
and dyed his hair in the bathroom of a Texaco
With a pawn shop radio at quarter past four
He left Waukegan Keegan at the slamming of the door.....
Utterly fantastic lyrics.
