  • Check out my blog on investing!

    Happy 2012!

  • I like Lorax2013's ideas but how can one know if the charity organization isn't secretly putting some of your money into the organizations' leaders' pockets?

  • This is a strange, incidental question, but which presidential candidate would you sponsor in the upcoming U.S election? I know it's quite off-topic, but based on your humanitarian perspectives on natural diet, your perception of secular law also seems rather conservative.

  • a pretty shocking, unbiased, amateur doc about child prostitution for sex tourists in Romania ...

    sprword.com/videos/cuttingedge/

i gather the same stories repeat themselves wherever else there's poverty.

  • love this video .solutions ..........and its not just on the other side of the world we slavery right here in canada

  • Lorax, good to hear from you again

  • I hear there is alot of slavery in the arab world. Apparently rich sheiks in oil rich arab countries are too cheap to actually PAY their maids.

  • Please enlighten us more often

  • good to see the teacher is back...i hope for more

  • Hi Lorax, Thank you.

  • lorax, check out liferegenerator on youtube :D

  • glad to see you back lorax2013

  • Lorax what happened to you? are you okay? you look sick...

  • There are more slaves today than at any other point in human history. If government policy says that slavery is against the law, the next step is to advocate to make sure that law is enforced. I would say that freedom firm is doing a good job for the time being, but as long as there is capitalism, slavery, I mean literal slavery like this will keep going.

  • I believe you're correct on this from what I've seen in the media. And it sure is dangerous work. Glad to see you post after so long!

  • I discovered your videos today, Loren. Awesome stuff! And I see you stopped for an year... hope you start regularly again because you produce real informative content.

  • Hey Lorax nice to see your return, I had been waiting patiently for your next vid. Cheers from Australia.

  • Nice job Lorax! This highlights many human failures on multiple levels. The 'slavery' issue takes many forms. The worst for of slavery is Debt! Slavery & servitude yeild to servility, then to aquiessence, then devolves into submission. I see this in the major institutions of government and banking with the underwritten debt businesses in both private and public entities. I am distraut over student loan, credit card and mortgage debt in the western world. Debtors are slaves.

  • you should write an autobiography : )

  • Slavery is often confused with poverty. Going into a definition of slavery that would sound something like "giving up the fruits of your labor under threat of coercion". That would make all tax payers a slave of some sort and all tax eaters a slave holder. Charities that lobby government for subsidies, do not have a fundamental problem with slavery. They just prefer to enslave some over others.

  • Glad to see you back! I wondered where you have been. It is always nice to watch your video. Please consider making a video on how you assess the current economic situation. Hope to see you regularly again.

  • you make some of the best stuff on youtube, glad to see something new.

    got the message, FREEDOM FIRM

  • Good presentation ,Human Slavery exists in India, Human Trafficking is also apparent in Dubai UAE where domestics believe they are escaping poverty from all parts of the world including Russia and Malaysia ,Pakistan and parts of Africa only to have their passports taken and some forced into slavery as abuse and sexual prostitution without pay. With awareness and support this issue is coming about to slowly being resolved.

  • Very nice video!

  • great to see you back, hope you are well lorax, take care

  • So glad to see you put a video out! You are my all time favorite you tuber :)

  • Always a treat to see you post. Hope you are well, Loren.

  • In 1975 when I married, our savings could earn 6-7% with a relatively low balance, and credit was very hard to earn... They discovered that by making credit readily available, they could use fractional reserve banking. (Google it), if you don't already know what fractional reserve banking is, you will be shocked at it's history! So unless you can get by well,,, without credit cards for those emergency car repairs and such things you must have. You are a slave a slave to fiat money bankers!

    O,

  • What about our slavery here in the United States? Property taxes, IRS and income tax, taxes, taxes, and more taxes. Taxes are slavery.

  • Good to see you again. Thought you left for good.

  • Not recognizing slavery??

You talk as if slavery is on the other side of the world instead of your own backyard.

To quote Doug Stanhope."Try sitting ontop of your pick-up, after work and a drink a beer you bought with the money you earned and then see how free you are"

  • Loren,

It is good to see you making another video. Your point is thought provoking.

  • Loren, it's been awhile...never can be sure what happens to people along the way..good to see you put up a video again.

    --Van

  • Loren, just for the record, could you give us what you think defines slavery? I read that early in American history young people were systematically indentured until, what I read in one case, 25 years old. England outlawed slavery around 1808 but that was merely an exercise of interpretation, because many claimed that it (slavery) only applied to children under age 8-- after that they were called indentured "apprentices". I need me an "apprentice".

  • There's child trafficking & sex trafficking. They're probably forms of slavery.

  • My favorite channel. Thanks for another great video.

  • i thought we are all slaves to money, rich and poor

  • So glad to see you again!

  • Please keep making videos. You're a great public educator.

  • very nice..thank you...good to see you back too.

  • Lorax, Glad to see you again!

BUT, you are wrong about this one. These are moralizers who lie in order to drum up support against prostitution. They also pressurize local law enforcement to "crackdown" on prostitution itself. It is sad to see the western world believe these liars. If you want to help poor people, don't give freedomfirm a single dime. Instead visit these poor regions and see for yourself. Your tourism dollars will do much more than these pseudo do-gooders ever will.

  • @utubehayter I didn't get into this issue - keeping the video short. I agree some groups (not Freedom Firm) use anti-slavery to support a secondary agenda against prostitution. I agree, IMO, it is counterproductive and insulting to confuse slavery with voluntary prostitution. Unfortunately the groups which push that angle have, IMO, hurt the debate and effort to stop slavery. However, I also think many people rationalize inaction by pretending that slavery doesn't exist, which is untrue.

  • @lorax2013

Alright, then that makes sense. People need to be aware that slavery still exists, just as people need to be aware that poverty exists and exists in degrees bad enough that some would opt into.. voluntarily ... for what seems to be slavery to the better off westerners (e.g. sweatshops). Fighting against sweatshops is a great (in the evil sense) of perpetuating even worse form of atrocities on poor people.

Do-gooders are often wrong and do more harm than good. Beware of that too.

  • @utubehayter No, because you can fight child slavery without fighting the brothels that buy them. Right? Or what? Tourism dollars??? You got to be kidding me.

Lorax, I'm glad you brought this subject up. Nobody wants to deal with this. Many of us are struggling around the world, but children being bought and sold...

  • @Zerafinel

No. The best way to fight child slavery is to buy the child out and free him into a space where he will be safe and taken care of. But that can't be done angrily via youtube comments, can it?

FYI, you create child slavery when you outlaw child labor by taking away all decent options of poor children to survive. So yes, Tourism dollars is a better way to help freeing children from slavery. An easier option is to NEVER buy fair trade items, in fact always buy sweatshop products.

  • @utubehayter I'm sorry I took so long to respond. No, I do not believe that is the best way at all. Obviously if you buy a child you are supporting the practice of selling children. The best way to stop this is to educate the mother and help her set up her own business, microloans. It has been shown improving the life of mothers/women, making her an entrepeneur, you improve the lives of her kids. It is money well spent.

  • @Zerafinel

You missed the other obvious part. If you buy and free one child from clutches of slavery, you have moved the world in the right direction. I do not suggest being polite or generous towards the seller of the child. I simply suggest getting the child out of there.

As to microloans, they are good but only in a very very defined context. On the other hand, do you know that some microloans are causing suicides enmass among poor adults? What do you think is happening to their offsprings?

  • @utubehayter Buy and set a child free - to what? What is the child going to do? Probably be snatched up by a child labor factory or some type of slavery again, because kids, by their very nature, are not fit to fend for themselves and compete with adults, as they are still developing. Please, correct me if I'm wrong here.

And no, I didn't know that about microloans. Maybe they're not the best option. There are other ways to strenghten the position, health and economic power of women I'm sure.

  • @utubehayter contd. I'm sorry, just read your post again, and you did say to a safe space. Adoption, basically. My point is though, this is a systemic problem ( child slavery/prostitution) so I don't think individual efforts like adoption is going to solve it.

Like, for instance, getting rid of a lot of superstition, religious dogma, government regulation. Not sure what is causing the problem for women, but I'm confident healthy parents do not sell their children.

  • @Zerafinel

Why should an individual have to borne the responsibility to wipe out the entire problem? He can do only as much as he can. The minimum is 1 child. The max is all of them. I am okay with all levels of assistance an individual can offer. For those idly bloviating regarding anti-child-slavery, anti-child-prostitution, that solves problems for ZERO children in reality.. I have no regard. Because I see them as pretenders.. not honest in their beliefs and actions.

  • @utubehayter Hm. I think you're right I guess. I'm not doing enough. I'll leave it at that for the moment. There are organizations that help women become entrepeneurs though.

  • @Zerafinel

Agreed. There are organizations that help women become entrepreneurs. There are also organizations that claim to be helping women be entrepreneurs while doing the exact opposite. Some of these micro finance schemes (actually depends down to individual levels) facilitate living on "easy" money, inculcate habits and attitudes that are quite destructive. It has worked very efficiently with the poor communities in the west and they are now using it in Bangladesh and parts of India.

  • ....what about modern day wage slavery?

  • I donated $10 to the charity only based on your word. Now donate some time and read about bitcoin and tell your take on it. Like or dislike it does not matter pick a side or stay neutral because most people will hate you for supporting it.

Personally I think it will end the bankster fraud of money from debt.

  • @davincij15 "...because most people will hate you for supporting it...." If that is true then, "....it will end the bankster fraud of money from debt....." that can't be true. Maybe you mean that through time, most people will begin to use something like bitcoin and end debt currency. That will take time. If bitcoin is sort of stable for another year, more people may begin to look at it. It seems most people don't want to understand money/currency. They do like being groupies though.....

  • @zalida100

Yep most people that got into silver was because Eric Sprott told them to do so and for no other reason. When you try and reason with them and tell them they should not do that they give you a blank look as they wonder why I'm into silver and telling them not to do what some rich guy says to do.

People do not thing for themselves anymore they follow the crowd.

  • @davincij15 I suspected there was a bit of a lemming mentality, but I didn't realise it was as prevalent as it showed itself to be, until you started the bitcoin thing. There's a lot of fear there I guess. 12 year old girls tend to do that sort of thing. - looking for heroes and forming rival cliques etc. Anyway, it's not that important and doesn't change much I suppose. I have a half-baked half-assed idea for your bitcoin development potential. I'll pm ya = cheers

  • We always imagine there is something really good about hiearchy. Partially because of the organization factor that we accept. It is generally to the advantage of hiearchals to "bugger" the system to thier advantage. It's like it maintains a function of enforcing belief and lies that become accepted in the quest for nomalcy. Each person has to make it better by try to help rather than "set things up" for personal status. "Buggering" is the most critial factor in hierarchy.

  • Always thought provoking information. Have you been traveling a lot?

  • What do you think of this?

    watch?v=cYBsDwjezQI&feature=channel_video_title

  • The status quo is very rigid. Most folks would have a fight to the death over their relative importance. There is one huge problem that will kill us all if we don't alter the centralizing forces of fuel use. Gasoline is a very calorie dense fuel, but we use it in a way where we throw most of it away during use as "wastable heat energy". We don't say anthing because by now the good methodology is thoroughtly illegal to have or use. It seems to be "otherworldly enforcement".

  • OH MY GOD A NEW VIDEO!!!!!!!

  • Nice to see you back, Loren!

  • Yes, welcome back Loren! I hope all is well and thank you for another great video.

  • Bitcoin is the solution to all this debt slavery without the use of your hated gold. However even bitcoin is not money gold and silver is money and nothing else.

  • @davincij15 not the bitcoins looool : )

  • Other side the world slavery? Dude what about your debt slavery YOU owe 100s of thousands for dollars of debt if you total the City, County, State and Federal debt.

  • @davincij15 "..YOU owe 100s of thousands for dollars of debt.." Hi D. That's bollox, and you know it. papermoneycollapse. com/2011/06/the-inconvenient-truth-about-sovereign-debt/

Lorax is talking about kidnapping. In the west you have the illusion of property rights - i.e. you are "allowed" use of property....for now.

While kidnapping-type slavery is disapproved of by the masses, let the masses try to end it. Their time to recognise debt slavery will come, and maybe they will end that too. :)

  • Welcome back.

  • Dear dear me, what a boring video.

  • I am a college student, I am gonna donate a dollar every month, for now, My weekly grocery money is like 30, if I find a job, ill donate more...

  • ** dow you want me to mail the receipt?

  • Hey lorax i donated 15$ as i already said in your original vid bout this (its now private). Do you want

  • @RCSuperpowers. So i guess that alsomeans you are an Atheist too :D i always wonderd, but doughted it because you and Val met in a church or so... (i rememberd you saying something about that in one of your oldest vids, or on your first site...)

  • @RCSuperpowers Ahhhh omg i diddnt know rcsuperpowers was also subbed to loren howe, hey dave!

  • Hey thank so much for this video! You are SO LOGICAL! Very helpful for alot of us out there hungry for the truth of reality.

  • Can't help you there. I myself is a slave at minimum wage.

  • Good that you are back. You are needed here as the sheeple still have not awakened!

  • in my humble opinion anyone engaging in slavery/human trafficking/forced labor/prostitution should get their fair trial and then get hanged or shot the next day at the latest. publicly. i hope in the near future we will come up with ways of being able to tell for sure if someone/anyone says the truth or not. some sort of technological device so that we can make sure only the truly guilty get convicted and punished. then we should go and rid the world of all murderers and rapists and such

  • @ToiToiToiHerrKaleun I do a video on both YouTube (I have two channels) and in French over on Dailymotion under "LisaFalour" about a global slavery racket. I think it is called CONFESSION OF A PROSTITUTE. If you put my name, Lisa Falour, in your search box here, you should be able to find it. I did not write it but was begged to make it public. Let me know if you can't find it. I try to get around to my messages in a fairly reasonable time. Thank you.

  • @ToiToiToiHerrKaleun I found it and submitted it as a video response here. I hope it will be approved and you can see it.

  • @slobomotion i used to ride to work and back home on my bicyle to save the money for public transportation. took me 3 hours to get to work and back home altogether. i worked for 7 Euros an hour before taxes. normally between 8 and 12 hours rarely even more than that a day. in a factory. being in physical pain and very very tired all week was normal for me and the money was hardly enough to make ends meet. yes of course is that a sort of slavery but let not forget theres real slavery out there

  • @ToiToiToiHerrKaleun I, too, go to incredible lengths to work at precarious work and I am disabled and receive no stipend as they are means tested here. I am in a union, I am an employee delegate, and I fight for the rights of workers. When we have bad conditions it is horrible and costly. People around the world must realize we must be healthy and okay wage slavery is an issue, I know. We have many holidays here in France, much needed. I personally earn nothing during these times.

  • @ToiToiToiHerrKaleun I have tried to sub you but it says you are not available. Perhaps check out my website at cutecatfaith d com and send me a message. I respond by email and try to get back to people fairly quickly and as thoughtfully and supportively as I can. I also do Dailymotion. If I do not feel we are on the same wavelength I will never pester you. I try to be very supportive. You might like my WORKING IN FRANCE series. bises
