My cousin is in the Marines he called in an airstrike at Bala Baluk. The official death toll confirmed 140 civilian deaths. A copy of the government's list of the names and ages of the 140 dead showed that 93 of those killed were children and 25 were adult women. He is a hero but the oil companies who benefit don't even give him a dime.

Hey - I'm a Canuck and I've loved the Marines ever since I first saw their commercial on TV
I had the privilege of doing special Recon duty for them in Korea, and I'm slated to be stationed in camp Pendleton before overseas deployment.
One suggestion I would have is to change their line from 'The Few The Proud The Marines to ... The Free The Brave The Marines - just an idea :-)

Being a Businessman, a Clerk, a Scientist, a Programmer, or a Systems Analyst is a job. But being a Marine is A Way of Life. I want that kind of life not just some job that you need to sit behind a desk all day that is a job for people who want to get rich but does not have any meaning in their lives. What will they ever say to God when they meet him. Marines won't have that problem.

@EichEiEmIhEs I agree that becoming a Marine requires more than most conventional civilian jobs, however, I strongly disagree with the notion of scientist having no meaning in life. The work they do allows modern society to continue to flourish, without scientist many of the amenities we take for granted wouldn't exist, not to mention the bad ass weapons systems employed by the United States military :).

But no other profession creates within its members the lifelong bond of brotherhood and pride like the Marine Corps. And a Marine is expected to uphold the principles of honor, courage, and commitment in both their professional and personal lives. That is the "way of life" EichEiEmihEs was referring to.

I cannot wait to sign up for the Marine Corps. I love this country so much and would do anything to keep it safe and sound. These passed years I did not know what job i want in decades to come or what college i want to go to. But I can say this, I want to be a United States Marine. Some people want to change my opinion on becoming a Marine and just do school and not do the military, I say that they don't understand. I want to thank everyone serving in our Armed Forces today.

After you leave paris island you ll forget all about that enlistment bonus and hang tightly to the title of "Marine" We dont join for money.
