I don't like Maniac, as goofy as he was on stage. I much prefer Attila, and I don't think Dead was all that great either, although better than Maniac. Maniac's screams are just monotone and grow old very quickly. If he showed some dimension with his vocals, it might be more tolerable, perhaps even good, but he doesn't.
Looking forward to seeing how Morfeus is with them though. Limbonic Art is very underrated. You should check them out for the more symphonic stuff.

Black Metal came out just a bunch of kids liking extreme music, that's it. The most extreme music they could find in a Christian society was...anti-Christianity. Early mayhem wasn't really "satanic" but just depressing and...I don't know, pure genius. (read Dead's lyrics..Life Eternal and Funeral Fog....nothing satanic) Mayhem was one of the band, if not the band that put BM on the map.

@VJnarcoticvizion I agree, their "decent" and are a pretty good band. The old stuff was pretty heavy, not as "KVLT" as black metal but ya know. I don't listen to them much but people give them a hard time for no damn reason. And, im sure alot of their members are Death/Black metal fans. Hell a few of the members were in death metal bands before Slipknot

Black Metal came out just a bunch of kids liking extreme music, that's it. The most extreme music they could find in a Christian society was...anti-Christianity. Early mayhem wasn't really "satanic" but just depressing and...I don't know, pure genius. (read Dead's lyrics..Life Eternal and Funeral Fog....nothing satanic) Mayhem was one of the band, if not the band that put BM on the map.

Mayhem to me is new, but not black metal and i am not sure, but their lyrics these days are about war. Not satanism, wich is the most important thing about it. If you dont belive me, just listen to the interwiev with forinstance Venom or Earonymus( sorry the spelling error).
BUT. you are right about that they are indeed not a truly "BlackMetal" band anymore, as the founders of BM would discrbe it
