I dont remember where I 1st saw this video, but several years later the song got stuck in my head out of the blue. That day I HAD to go to Wendy's & get 2 triples with cheese, ketchup, pickles, & onions (3/4 lb beef each), large fries & a Frosty. I got sick, but it was worth it.
@RubicantX - Turkey TV was a show on Nickelodeon back from around 1985-1987 that would show comedy sketches from around the world. They used to play this, Fish Heads, and Blotto's "I Wanna Be A Lifeguard" quite often. They also used to play alot of Dana Carvey before he made it big on SNL.
@Diskoboy1974 NOW I remember! That was on during the era with DangerMouse, Belle and Sebastian, National Geographic Presents, Out of Control, and YCDTOTV...Thanks for the refresher!
@Diskoboy1974 I certainly remember that show a lot. It was kinda like a predecessor to a later show Comedy Central use to do called "Short Attention Span Theater".
My mom used to play this for me when I was 2 or 3 years old back around 1981- it scarred me for life and I never forgot it! I still think it is totally awesome though...totally awesome video!!! Thanks for bringing back serious memories! :)
I, too, remember this from Turkey TV. But there was another music vid they've shown featuring a guy in a tomato costume who sang then chased people with a giant knife at the end. Anybody know what I'm talking about?
Oh MAN, what a blast from the past! I used to love this video, thanks so much for posting! It's been like 20-some years since I saw it. Now all I need is a fistful of quarters and the local arcade that used to be a block away (now replaced by a shopping center, as usual.) Thanks for a little slice of the 80's again!
yeah, i was there that day...and i even took a shot of Cody with the burgers in the trunk that ran in Rolling Stone...that was my fav burger joint in S.F.....the Tick-Tock on Third.....just south of PacBell.......
In 1979, before MTV, us San Francisco Bay Area kids watched Videowest. Hungry for early punk and new wave, we were satisfied. But "that old guy" Commander Cody gave us indigestion. I swear they aired this video every week. A couple decades later, I find it pretty cheestastic!
Does anybody remember another vid from the same era, prob "turkey tv" too, that was a girl singer. Something like, "he was a monkey man, tried to tell me what to do". I'd love to find that one.
Damn, this brings back some memories.Back when Mtv still played music videos and was like a 24 hour B movie with a cool soundtrack. Not to sound wistful, but I kinda miss the 80's.
Wow, suddenly it's 1980 again and MTV is a year away. Favorite is the dancing french fries! Too bad they stopped making videos like this. You know--without dancing.
I moved to Oakland 69,got booze under age at 45th and Grove, then went up to skyline and the Monkey tree's-got the munchies and headed for Lakeshore and two tripple cheese side order a frie's. Been there ate that.Love the memories, and thanks for the Vidio!!! Now More!
Wasn't this video on some animation collection that they used to show on Showtime or HBO? I want to find that. Does anyone know where I can get a DVD of that show?
The only place I ever saw it was on Nickelodeon's "Turkey Television" show back in the day...maybe 1985-86 if I remember correctly. I can still sing this song verbatim today ;) FYI...the copy I have of my VHS collection from Turkey TV has a copyright date at the end of 1980 on it. Hey Joe...maybe a DVD should go in the works for all us fans!
The burgers looked pink and uncooked, the fries looked like they were frozen, and the cola pouring into the cup looked flat. But still I loved seeing this video as a kid and it makes me laugh all the time. :)
Thank you for this video. THis song was going through my head all day at work today and everyone was looking at me wierd. I had to get to youtube to see if it was here. You made my day:):) WHAT GOES IN THE PADDIES IS KNOW ONLY TO THE BOSS!!!!!!
I use to think this video was just something I imagined or hallucinated or something. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!! This video brought back memories. Don't ever get rid of this!!!
Thanks for posting this video which I haven't seen in forever, since seeing it on Nickelodeon's Turkey Television from the mid-80s. This is probably the best song about food that Weird Al didn't do! :)
Thank you! THank You! THAnk YOU!!!! I have been looking for this video, like, forever. Doing a timeline on my profile and I'm at 1981 right now (the birth of MTV) Dude...you rock!
YES! YES! YES! I looked for this video forever and when I asked everyone about it they were like, duh, what? Thanks so much dude...A small but very important part of me is now at peace.

What's also cool about this & thanks for uploading it, is that that's Oakland's Kwik-Way fast foodery, a real dinosaur, which has gone extinct. I have their drive up sign. Yowza!
Thanks for posting!
