  • Sticking a widge up your arse ;)

  • This came out when I was a grim little waif at primary school, and I felt so sad for a partially deaf little waif who had to wear Phonic Ear. Fortunately, however, I met her again in 2000 and by then she was a glamorous, shouty vodka bar chick :) Furthermore, you can get better technology for deaf kids than Phonic Ear nowadays :)

  • Have not heard this since childhood. Great song!

  • NOW THIS IS MUSIC.... and also this is a REAL music video.. not done with computers but painstaking art work all done by hand and animated. Love the artwork here. Peter Gabriel was also good for hand made artwork in his video's.

  • R.I.P. Andrew Gold. Hemos disfrutado y bailado mucho tu música.

  • Head this song on the radio the other night, and now can't stop listening to it. Brilliant song from the 80s.

  • i remember this being played on MTV if you can believe it. always thought it had kind of a squeeze-ish sound to it.

  • @GrigOrigTK Indeed. She is 16 now & is dating a 23 year old guy. o.O

  • Up with the builders (+ Construction Engineers of course!). In fact up with all the cool people on this page with a top taste in music! ;-)

  • Oooh, I really love that nostalgic 1980's sound!!!

    :-D

  • This is SO 80's! I really love this kind of music! Mmm, nostalgica! ;-)

  • Fantastic Tune......R.I.P Andrew Gold

  • @1985Ferris you're cool - stick around! :)

  • When I worked for an estate agent in Basingstoke heard this outside a house I was supposed to visit. Sat in the car and listened to it and thus was late. Fabulous song, but I go the instruction as I went in enthusiastic and happy!

  • I LOVED this song. Made me a happy teenager. I used to imagine builders would've liked a hit like this!!! :o>

  • @MsSupaSinga36 : love this track . . . and i am a building construction engineer ! Such a good track and video ;-)

  • fuck your adverts google

  • I love this song! Thanks a lot!!

  • heard on a DAB Austrailian radio station while in the uk.... ,its Bristish yet i havent heard it in Britain since i was like 10 ? ..... its amusing to me that British 80's music is so well played in foriegn countries except my own ???

  • Great times! we didn't even care about the cold war thanks to the 80's music

  • the great andrew gould brillient

  • love this, even the cheesy 80's songs were good! met my husband in this year and this song always reminds me of when we met, played everywhere on the radio 1987 great memories

  • I saw Graham Gouldman live last night in Sunderland with 10CC. they did this song as their final piece, as a tribute to the late Andrew Gold

  • @Tyburn13 I was also there I thought they played a very generous set for a free gig

  • one of the best tracks of the 80's.

  • Ferris Bueller you're my hero. Ooaooaooh, I miss the 80's... Pure happy days. BMX, Sony Walkman, Samantha Fox, Loads and loads of hairgel, and MTV when it was all about the music :D

  • one of the many new vids introduced on the very new MTV Europe that year.... I remember it well, I made a point of watching the first night, and before it started the testcard off the satellite had the smiths and how soon is now! how cool was that.

Andrew Gold... we will miss your class!

  • Pure Hapiness. The 80's.

  • you can do a great dance to this bay hey hey by

  • 1987...bit of cheesy pop but a great tune no doubt about that..

  • Awesome fucking tune and a great collaboration between Graham Gould (10cc) and Andrew Gold. RIP Andrew.

  • 20 people need to clean the wax from their ears

  • A classic pop tune.

    RIP Andrew Gold.

  • Golden oldie!

I wish I still had the song on cassette!

  • Great collaboration with Andrew Gold, RIP

  • RIP Andrew

  • have only just heard that Andrew has passed away :( hard to believe, may he rest in peace. Thanks for making the world a happier place

  • Andrew gold and Graham Gouldman (10cc). I remember buying this single back in sometime 1987 and playing it again and again. Sad, I know, but at the time I thought it was fantastic. I remember watching this video and thinking it was the most amazing thing ever as well.

  • R.I.P Andrew Gold........

  • Thanks Andrew for emotions...

  • RIP!

  • RIP Andrew Gold :(

  • Veel herinnering bij dit nummer: met vrienden in de Dyane, het dak open en keihard dit nummer (en andere foute 80er jaren nummers) draaien!

    Andrew Gold RIP...

  • uuuuuggghh that godawful 80's synthesized sound..this is a disgrace to Andrew Gold's solo work in the 70's & Graham' Gouldman's work with 10CC..where's the real musicianship here?? the guitars, real drums etc. There's probably a decent tune here hidden under all this computerized robotics..Thanks goodness these 2 won't be rememberd for this one

  • @Mickster19592009

Oh, f**k off, you cretin. I like Adnrew Gold, I love 10CC, I love this song. So, am I some sort of defective music fan, in your annoying eyes?

  • 90s owned the 80s.

  • @AvocadoTomato No way.. most musicians in the 80 had talent and it wasn't all about the looks.

  • I was born in 1980 Thank God this great tune is part of my childhood! Take me back!!

  • @JamaicaUK I was a bit more lucky as I´m born in 74 .-)

  • Middle aged popstars. That shit just wouldn't happen today!

  • I would kill to have been alive in the 80s.

I hate the mainstream crap the 2000s has!!!!!!

  • The 80s were the pinnacle of mankind. Wax is the proof.

  • Cracking song. Just can't believe 20 people dislike it. Are they deaf?

    HORN!!!

  • 1:13... el inconfundible rafa de villa dominico...!!

  • The 80's rocked!! i love the horn section, classic

  • but where is the video you can download it?? I for myself

  • I love this song and the video is perfect, thanks for uploading death, fantastic quality too, I heard this song long before I saw the vid so I was bowled over when I saw it and enjoyed it just as much as the song, its pretty reminiscent of Peter Gabriels Sledehammer with all the stop motion work

  • The best era!!!!!! Love this song! Had a blast when this was a smash hit. Thanks for posting.

  • My girlfriend broke up with me because i listen 80's music How freakin low is that? But i dont give a damn Ik keep listening to it and nothing can change me!!

  • @MarantzSt153 She broke up with u for that????? better off without her then if thats how bloody petty she is mate

  • @MarantzSt153 Simple - go to 80's themed clubs and meet girls who do like 80's music, and big hair, shoulder-pads, hairspray etc etc!

  • @MarantzSt153 Well you keep listening to the 80s music mate. her loss :)

  • @MarantzSt153 well 80s music is good enough to be ripped off left right and centre by so-called new acts

  • @MarantzSt153 Could be worse, my wife-died cause some drunk cunt ran us off the road.

  • @SCL0PS That's bad, man, my condolence; I hope you can get over this, I'm thinking of you.

  • 80's music rocks

  • 19 dislikes? Someones 'avin a giraffe!

  • i chanced upon a magical place, under a tree beside a stream,

where worries and strife faded away and reality became a dream,

a restful place where sunbeams fell, on the lucky man who lay,

his tired soul upon the soil, for one perfect transient day.

    THE MAD POET.

  • @MAD2472 Don't give up the day job (that's if you even have one). Faggot!

  • the 80s just ruled!

  • this is my favorite group of my lifetime. i don`t think they produce great videos but their music its awesome!!! reminds me a lot of my childhood.

  • @brcreature

Very True. A perfect example was Information Society. They were a great SynthPop band, but with all the SynthPop bands coming from the UK, there really wasn't a "NEED" for them. But they were modestly successful here in the USA. And they were huge in Latin America, So its all good:)

  • wonder what bridge it would take to get to someones heart

  • How was this song not a big hit here in America?!?!?!?

  • Thumbs up for the late 80s pop art influences.

  • Wow! 2:28: i can honestly day my fried breakfast never started singing ever lol. I cant blame it though. Love this song.

  • Thanks for the share.Love the song.

  • Saw them at the height of their wax fame at Hull city hall..was a good show to be fair..and in some other world is still as current as ever....

  • thanks for this video - excellent song - but why so down on hiphop hey - i'm a rapper and it's this kind of fantastic music that made me a musician

  • @KevlovesHev oh please don't confuse rapping with music or musicians. Rapping is just a load of meaningless words in any old order. Look at every young male and they claim to be able to rap - it's talentless and pointless.

  • @urbex2007 ha ha ha ha ha ha

  • 19 did not have a heart.

  • hehe a ja mialem 7 lat wtedy

Czuje sie jakbym przespał z 20 lat

  • @MultiBoomhower correct when paddy pulls up in his xr3i and max has had his car alarm fitted to his volvo.

  • @andyveccyv6

LOL, I've just watched that very episode. The out takes are even funnier.

  • I was proudly born in the 80's !! (1985) and this is what I call MUSIC ♫♪!!!

  • @1985Ferris how can you say this, you were only 2 when this song came out , surely your era should be the nineties which was also great

  • @robert47y But not as much as the 80's mate. It's true, I was only 2 but it doesn't really matter because this is the only kind of music that makes me feel glad and inspired besides classical and baroque music.

  • @1985Ferris i was born in 81 and i cant agree more

  • @1985Ferris

I Was Born in this Year Too

    SImply The Best Decade

  • Went out for a date in the 80's and as soon as the girl found out I was a fan of wax she dumped me :-)

  • I znów czuję, że urodziłem się za późno...

  • Great work! Unique reference to "The Scream" by Edvard Munch's in 3:07.

Some characters, like in 2:40 are similiar to those from the Queen album cover "A Kind of Magic" which Roger Chiasson designed.

  • Left school in this year . Reminds me of my first job as a HGV mechanic. I agree with your comment about it ben a good year for music.

  • Left school in this year. This song was always on the radio. Just started an apprenticeship. Def Lepard Animal, Wet Wet Wet wishing I was lucky T`pau china in your hands were just a few of the songs also around. I agree with your comment about being a good year for music.

  • mm love the 80's :)

  • Love this tune!

  • i think lady gaga got the chorus idea for her song "bad romance" from the chorus of this song, she's a big 80's fan.

  • @paulc792009 Bingo! Her songs are like puzzles and you just found another piece. I knew I heard that kind of 'ooh' somewhere before but just couldn't trace it. Even after hearing the song I didn't make the connection, but your comment made it perfectly clear. Thanks!

  • @paulc792009 Yes- I knew the "Bad Romance" chorus reminded me of something!

  • what a great 80's song. Cannot believe i haven't heard it before! I was only born a year earlier than this song but i'm sooo glad i didn't discover it sooner and i'm glad that reflex hasn't got its hands on it!

  • This is one of the songs regularly played every fridays in the no. 1 fm radio station in manila during the 70's & 80's. That's 99.5 RT, rhythm of the city. i don't know if they still exist coz I've been away for quite sometime now. Great video & didn't know that Godley & Creme were responsible for this one. Ayos!
