  • THAT GUY LOOKS LIKE TONY STARK!

  • @marshonsam if thats the case they might as well call the movie " Sam & Twitch" because thats how he's describeing it. Sounds Just like the "Sam and twitch" comic (Which,IMHO, was kinda boring). I hope he doesn stick to that plan.

  • Todd is god

  • lol writes can over type storys that had 10.000 space ships,15.000.000 police officers and armed guards and 9.000 naval captains on central park with all of newyork city watching lol comicbook artist dont have it easy.

  • Todd and Spawn is the best .

  • McFarlane the legend. Also, Blunty reminds me of Robert Downey Jr.

  • @600430 IKR!? any way spawns beast!

  • could u imagine if todd mcfarlane wrote a movie for the life of 1. scorpion from mortal kombat, and 2. vegeta from dragonball z. just seeing how he shows spawn's pain, u can only imagin how scorpion n vegets's would be displayed

  • Spawn Rulez If u don'T like Fuck u!!!!

  • great - i'm very thankful to Todd McFarlane

  • dude

its a detective movie...sam and twitch styley trying to work out whos killing all these mobsters

but yeh i agree...were kinda gunna miss out on a little of the ...watching babyspawn using his CHAINS and using his sweat ass necro armour suit reacting to shit and smashing it up, i think theres gotta be a bit of that init...maybe a massive shoot off at the end ...where hes on the same side as the detectives...brawlige :)

  • the spiderman movie should have been more like Todd's concept, i didnt like the movie at all becuase it was the worst costume design ive seen

  • this guy is one of the biggest comic book legends besides stan lee love them both

  • i remember running to the comic store every month or bi weekly whenever the next mcfarlane spidey was out, just to see his version of my fav spidey villains .

his mysterio and scorpion are still my favs.

and this guy invented proper spidey webbing

  • @reekinopiss Spawn is seriously out of date and uncool. It was cult for a short while between 1995-1998, then after no one gave a shit about it. Some things like Transformers and Thundercats resurface as 'cult' yeaarrs after they've finished. Spawn enjoyed a brief period of being 'cult' simply because of how cool the toys looked & the violence. The story in comparison to alot of others wasn't anything different from conventional comics though.

  • yes because watch batman wining about his parents for 100000 time is far more kwell please ...

  • @coolstuff2003ad

WHAT? Well, I guess, TO each his own, but NEVER is Spawn out of date. You state 1995-98, which is INCORRECT, as he was number 1 selling from 92 when it debuted for a while. And it has evolved in so many ways since it came out. Al is now dead and a New Spawn has taken the helm. Maybe you should read up. And dont just say cliche things about stuff just to fit in

  • todd used to be built...guy lost some weights

  • HA HA! that bit where he accidentally said spawn when he was talking about spider-man was gold! goes a long way to explaining where he got his inspiration i think.

    informative interview none the less

  • Thank you Blunty! McFarlane is a big hero of mine and one the reason i'm studying the field i am now. His work as an attest is inspiring. In pen, words or models, his amazing.

  • *sighs*

how on earth do you manage to interview all these amazingly influential people?

  • Great interview todd is a great writer/artist cant wait for his new spawn show.

  • So I guess that Todd McFarlane is the Konami of comic's and TRACY YARDLY! is the LGN equivalent.

  • Blunty I am officially jealous of you meating Todd McFarlane.

  • meating?

  • Todd was meated? Sounds painful.

  • I hate stereotypes

  • Blek, cosplayers. They makes me so angry. Giving us nerds a bad image, making us look like a buncha freaks.

  • so the bullies of the past got to you and now you dont know how to have fun huh, deepspacestoner?

  • I know how to have fun without embarrassing myself.

  • oh so what you're saying, deepspace, is that you care about how you're judged by the rest of society (even for one day) and pretty much forgot how to let loose being surrounded by people with the same interests as you who are still a kid at heart... maybe you should be change your lifestyle and be a "gangsta thug" lol

  • I mean self-embarrassment. How can you live with yourself knowing you're such a loser?

  • DeepSpaceStoner, Stop trolling, get life. in that order please.

  • You shouldn't speak to your loyal subscribers that way, Blunty.

  • "Loyal subscriber" or not, you're being an ass. If you can't respect that other people find enjoyment in other ways than you, fine whatever, but don't come to my comments sections and berate my OTHER "loyal subscribers" for simply enjoying cosplay. I have zero problem with blocking people, subscriber or not, for idiotic trolling, I do it often. And I don't often warn, so take the hint.

  • I'm the most loyal of all. Blocking me would be a huge mistake. You'd lose one of your greatest subscribers. I dare you to do it.

  • Please tell me that you are simply just a ballsy SOB(no offense) that likes to talk. If so, you're forgiven, if not, realize few care for your opinion. Oh and good evening Mr. Blunty, thank you for putting this up, I'm a big Mcfarlane fan.

  • I know it's not my place to stick my nose in where it doesn't belong, but for some 'loyal subscriber' you've must not seen some of Blunty's recent rant videos.

Does he care that he may lose one subscriber out 50,000+ subscribers? Isn't it obvious? Besides, what are you going to do if he does? Bitch about it? More power to ya, I guess.

  • im guessing deepspacestoner is now blocked...lol...silly troll

  • You havent blocked me yet! 2 year subscriber. And when you did that video on an xbox...i had to get one. When you did the lego one...i went and got a lego bike and now im back into legos..ugh...

But i like your gadget and toy reviews, u give the full opinion and not just the plus points.

  • did you shit your pants when you wrote that? you are a HARD ASS

  • Then you're not a real nerd. You're just a geek.

  • You make no sense.

  • ...not to mention that people you are afraid will see you and laugh at you are probably people you will only see for 2 minutes and never see again for the rest of your life, thus will never effect either of your lives after the fact

  • Sweet Blunty, so so so very Sweet, Todd literally UPDATED Spiderman, from that on everybody adopted his changes at some level, in Marvel Super Heroes Fighting Series, that's not a generic Spider-Man you get to play with, thats TODD's Spidey, with the big eyes and the mad poses.

His action figures Empire... phew, It's donne pretty much EVERYTHING there's to be donne on the area, from his roots in Spawn all the way to Final Fantasy and beyond

  • Anyway, love the interviews, Blunty, keep it up for the sake of pop culture everywhere! PS Good job not letting the people who call u a geek get to you, they're not worth a reply :P

  • nice interview buddy, u certainly do have a good respect for ur guests and it comes across - very professional.

  • yeah tod mcfarlane rules

  • nice work Nate - it gets annoying seeing all the famous people you get to meet!!!!

love the interviews, you have a welcoming nature for your guests.

    awesome.

    thanks!

  • blunty works for supanova???

    0:57

he says "you guys" which makes me think blunty works for it. i wouldn't doubt it.

  • Yes, as I have stated in several video's over the last couple years... I work for SN, I'm the event videographer.

  • @Blunty3000 Yo Blunty, you ever thought about taking up acting? You could replace Robert Downey Jr. for our favorite red and gold armored superhero if it comes to that. . . .

  • LOl bluntys such a nerd going to that convention!!!!

  • I'm proud to be a geek, and I work at that convention :P

  • im proud too, and i wished i worked at the convention

  • Yeh, like you arent probably a 40 year old living in his mother's shed with shelves full of comics lying without a speck of dust on a shelf, mario00spoofs whatever.

Just because someone likes something different to you... what's your preference, Barbies and Lego City with a topping of Bones? Cop on to yourself.

  • ? wow spazz much?

  • God damn it i wished i lived in Ausie....

  • har har har suffer, jokes

  • Great that you got 2 cameras for this one!

    Love your videos Mr. Nate!

  • Todd = God. That is all.

Todd McFarlane needs to do a Batman book. It'd be sweet.

  • GASP, HE TOUCHED YOUR SHOULDER

  • Twice!

  • Love McFarlane, He made my favorite action figures Halo

  • those are amazing but i didn't get to buy any of em.

when i haz more extra $ I'll be grabbing as many as i can...

  • You lucky, lucky motherfucker. I'd love to meet McFarlane.

  • i love his version of spider-man

  • here in fizguy we have another weedy white guy tryin to be "cool" ... god i hate "gangsta" smack talk!

    Love Todd McFarlane tho

  • well I met Todd in SD ComicCon 89 and when I asked if he would do a quick version of the punisher fo rme in my sketch pad (yes I was 16 and was a Pun freak) he quickl doddled a tall skinny shull for me...gee thanks Todd. where as Mr Matt Wagner took a good ten minuets outa his day to draw me up not only a kewl verison of the Punihser he also added a Batman and Grendal to the sketch I admire Todd for his drawing talent and for makin a stand against the big boys but man is he ever full of himself

  • Fuck you! Todd McFarlane is one of greats, Plus why ask him to draw Punisher? You should have said Spawn or Spidy........Dork.

  • some has a man crush...

  • As a matter of fact yes I do! Todd McFarlane is one of my idols.

  • 1: He's a try hard surfer with the shell necklace and the Billabong tshirt but he's pasty white and weedy, Fools no one.

    2: Blunty's microphone looks like a suggestion.

3: Is that a bowl of blue condims?

4: McFarlane is very much excited about his work. Good interview as Blunty let him talk because McFarlane wanted to.

  • Blunty Great interview I really enjoyed it!

  • seriously does this guy age? blunty said he had posters of his spider man design when he was a kid, McFarlane must be twice as old, yet blunty is that one that does

  • I liked this recent interview on Major Nelson's Podcast too

  • lol at 00:01- bright green shirt - thats me.

i came running up and shook blunty's hand.

    best day ever.

  • ha ha ha! I spotted you!

    Cool.

  • I like your interveiws, keep it up.

  • great guy!!!great expo!!

  • he did Ultimate SPiderman? bravo.

  • So he's the guy who made Spider-man modern.I like how he can express emotions on his eyes in the costume.

But I think he's a bit to skinny.

    Mr.Blunty who is you'r best costume hero/villian?

  • Hahah! I saw me at the start!

  • you wouldn't happen to be the pikachu chiq at 0:13? give me a buzz if you are. lol

  • Finally some supanova vids :P

    Nice work though :)

  • nice interviewing and editing techniques, but for gods sake get a decent mic.

  • Blunty Blunty, Release the where abouts of your evil twin brother that performs in your rants. Your hair isnt so gray in the interview videos. Is Just For Men in your beauty supply carry on bag for trips to these conventions you go to? Xp

Thanx for this cool interview, i enjoy everything comics.

  • You should have told me you were interviewing Todd McFarlane. That way you could get my Spawn Issue #1 original print comic signed for me. I always miss him when he is in Vancouver.

  • Big love to the McFarlane and everything.

But, come on, "the most influential"?

Umm, Stan Lee? Alan Moore? Even Chris Claremont?

Okay, sorry, I'm usually sensible enough to resist this kind of whinging and whining in the comments, and do appreciate you probably don't want to hear it.

    But, you know, "reality check".

Anyway, yeah, sorry, I'll now shut up and watch the rest of the interview, which I'm sure will be good and is appreciated and so on.

  • Yeah, I dunno about "the most" influential, but the mass exodus and the art and stories in Spawn were a pretty big deal. And he helped put Marvel and DC in their place, so to speak.

  • i agree with u about moore, he's the master of comics.

  • lol during the whole interview i couldn't stop laughing about the mic!!

  • BLUNTY!!!! THE MIC!!!!

McFarlane is my fucking favorite comic book artist!!!!!

    oh my god dude!!!!!!

please, not to be rude or an ass, but get a better mic!!!!!

  • AHHHH SUPANOVA VIDS =DDDDD

epic!! *que the fanboy doing a fangirl scream???*

  • Does he have anything to do with Seth McFarlane?

    LOL!

  • Same last name? (yes it's obvious, but it's a correct answer)

  • would be epic

  • how does that look remotely like christian bale

  • IS THAT CHRISTIAN BALE?!?

  • Yes bigfaggykitty, it is in fact Christian Bale, that is why the video title, information text, his lower third identifier all say "Todd McFarlane", and why I myself, introduce him Todd McFarlane.... it's all a big trick, but you caught us, well done. *headdesk*

  • Ahh Blunty, sarcasm suits you :D

  • omfg i went to get his autograph and my friends pulled me away im like NOOOO

  • great interview can't wait to see the rest.

  • McFarlane! WOW! And he touched your shoulder! WOW!!!!!1!

I adore his art since he did the Hulk (Joe Fixit was my favorite Hulk), and when he made Spidey it was friggin GREAT! That first panel when Venom appeared to scare MJ is unforgettable!

...but I quit collecting Spawn right after that movie. The book was so great in the beginning, Spawn #10 was such a great satire on the whole comic business... and then they made that horrible movie and ruined everything.

  • (this is directed at tmafkap)

Why should a movie have any influence on the comics? Did the movie people take over the comic? I'm sorry, but your reasoning seems unsound. It would be like if I stopped reading the Harry Potter books because the first movie sucked.

  • Phoenix: The problem was: the movie HAD influence on the comics. The movie was made for an audience aged 12 and afterwards the story from the movie, which was different from the comics, was substituting the one in the comics. The Violator in the comics was cool, in the movie he sucked (and not only the violator). If the movie had no influence on the comics I'd kept collecting them. But as it was I just said "thanx for 64 good comics and good-bye."

  • @ tmafkap: Ah, then your reasoning makes sense, while the people in charge of the comics seem to be utterly idiotic. Thanks for clarifying. ^_^

  • Awesome Interview...!

  • OMG blunty your so lucky you got to meet McFarlane! That would be highlight of supernova for me can't wait to watch other 3 interviews

  • It was a particular joy to have some one on one time with a man who has been responsible for some great change and evolutions in the geek world :) I was never a huge fan of spawn, but I dug his Spiderman art, and warmly welcomed the revolution he lead in action figure quality.

  • Blunty you are one lucky guy.

I wish i had ur job.

  • Todd McFarlane is the god damned man.

  • this guy is GOD!!!!!!!!

  • The reason blunty is so "lucky" ladies and gents, is cus blunty puts in the hard work of making this stuff happen, his entire life is based around this work and he isnt afraid to get his hand wet/dirty/choped off for the sake of an interview

He meets all these "celeb's" becuase of this and brings us GREAT meterial and interviews for the sake of his work

Blunty, great stuff and very informative interview, keep it up :D (cant wait to see the rest of this)

  • Marvel must have shit in their pants when Todd, Jim, and the rest left.

  • It was certainly a dramatic time to be a comic book fan.

  • I remembered when that happened, It seemed like when they left, marvel had everyone draw like them, especially Rob Liefield.

  • GO BLUNTY!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome

  • why does he remind me of christian bale? (only the looks)

  • Wow you lucky bastard.

    I use to idolize him.

  • Blunty, why are you so damn lucky ;__;

  • Awesome :p

  • Blunty, you coming to supanova in sydney?

also, i know cosplay you can only enter if your a japanime character, my friend, she entering, but can you go to supanova dressed as any character you want even if your not cosplaying?

  • Cool interview. =) Spiderman is alright but I am more into X-men and Tales From The Crypt. There are others I like but those two have to be my favorites. =)

Look forward to the other parts.

    - Heidi

  • Apparently he's an atrist?

  • maybe you could put up graphics of todds spiderman & his comics while he was speaking? It would make the video more visually appealing. just a suggestion to help out.

  • Is it just me or does blunty always change his voice when hes interviewing? He sounds different than normal..

  • It's not about ME when I interview someone, so I tone down into a more relaxed and conversational mode to let whoever I'm interviewing "have the stage" so to speak... especially someone Like Todd, who can happily go right into story mode with the smallest of directional shoves ;) heh. Nice guy, easy to talk to.

  • Ha ha. Yeah you just say like one thing and hes off again for like 5 minutes.

Anyways, cool to finally see who's behind the modern Spiderman. Didn't know the history behind it and what not until i watched this xD

  • well said BLUNTY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's so cool to see Todd Mcfarlane speak again. Looking forward to the other videos.

  • great vid now add me as a friend already i love ur vids specially all ur watchmen stuff

  • I wish I had a dollar for everytime spiderman was "re-born"

  • He is my all time favorite artist for spiderman, man blunty awesome video i cant but bowdown to you sir!

  • cool spider man is one of my fav comic book series

  • Wow First

    Aside from that

w00t for comics I cant wait to see the next spider man
