  • Met Larry at the Hilltop in Saugus back in 1983, he was waiting for a table and I had a nice chat with him. Friendly guy not the typical stuck up local celeb....hear that Dick Albert?

  • larry ?? let me check

  • I just found out that Larry passed on earlier this year. I lived in the Boston area from September of 1968 until April of 1984 13-28), and was a terrible insomniac the entire time. During my teen years, especially, I'd stay up late during the summer and listening to Larry, getting the crap scared out of me listening to stories like THIS! Member his infamous Halloween shows? Rest in Peace, Larry, I'll love you forever. I'll be a Glicknick forever, and I'll love Muck forever, too. That LAUGH!

  • @binkle1 Wow sorry to hear that... I was on the 3rd shift working for Raytheon in Waltham Larry kept us going year after year, It's funny because the sheetmetal shop was big and if Larry said something funny you would hear 20 men out 30 who had Larry on there radio... One night I'll never forget Larry was talking to this 10 year old kid , this kid knew every thing about Glen Miller come to find out his Grandfather played in the band,, May God Bless you Larry

  • This is not graveyard marauder. Now I have to go find that tape.....it was about a cop andhis guard dog who after repeated complaints of vandalism and sighting of a 'giant' in the graveyard spent a night there. he sees figure here's it trashing things and his guard dog 'fang' who was the most ferocious beast quivering and hiding under a table in a service building. Great story. The denouement was there was an asylum nearby that at times apparently an inmate escaped.

  • Hey all you Glickniks ! I worked nights and listened to Larry for many years. Lots of great times. I still have some recordings on cassette tapes. I should see if I can digitize and post.

  • raintree is right,..this isnt the graveyard marauder and larry's story about the PI and his dog was the real grave yard story.....if im remembering correctly it was about everything raintree said above but the grave yard was located near an insane asylum and the name of the PI was Gil Lewis, maybe?.... i lived near larry in westwood mass and used to see him walking all the time

  • OMIGAWD! The Halloween shows! Remember "Drop Dead!" and the horrible story where the weird gas comes in and turns the family INSIDE-OUT? It scared the crap out of me but we'd all be laffing anyway. Great, great stuff. Larry saved my sanity during an adolescence of nearly total insomnia.

  • Hi Tallboy: Thanks for putting this up. There's still a lot of Glick Nicks out hear! Larry's show was unique.

  • This "IS" the "GRAVEYARD MAURAUDER"....I listened to larry glick from the time he was on wmex radio Boston in the mid 60s to the end on wbz. People would call up frequently to have him play this... this is definately the story known as the "GRAVEYARD MAURADER"

  • Sorry, but this is NOT the Graveyard Marauder. In fact I HAVE an audio tape of the real show, which I taped in the mid 1970s. It was broadcast on halloween night for several years. I can assure you this is not it. In fact, during the interview, Larry called it the Graveyard Marauder - which he did not refer to in this taping.

  • so what is the gist of the story you know as "the graveyard Marauder"? Give me a mini version if you could.

  • A private detective is asked by a small town in SE Mass. to help capture a trouble maker who raises havoc in graveyards (overturns stones, etc.). The PI figures out his pattern and hides in a graveyard greenhouse with an attack dog. The marauder shows up (a huge hulk of a man) and scares the PI & the dog half to death. The cops show up too late to catch him.

  • That's right. I remember that story and have search for an mp3 of it. ("I look back and the dog is cowering") Great story. Do you know anywhere on line it may be.

  • I have to believe that WBZ has an archive tape of this show. It was popular and aired many times. My copy is poor and fades in and out. I would love to get a clear copy of it myself.

  • I've looked for it without success. Larry has said he destroyed the tapes because he didn't think they were important. There must be a number of copies out there that someday, someone will digitized and uploaded to an old time radio site. Every once in a while I google it. I've managed to collect all the CBS Radio Mystery Theater episodes that way.

  • I got the orangatan Larry Glick story off the net. There's a few clips out there.

  • Sorry dude but this is not the graveyard maurauder story. THAT story is a different guy, different story entirely it's emblazened in my memory.

  • The Graveyard Marauder is on Itunes now under the podcast "larryglick's podcast"
