Hi,We have organized a new meetup group in South Florida
(called South Florida Survivors of Sociopaths ) . We have had a similar
personal experience with misconduct by a West Palm DCF child abuse investigator who lied and helped the abuser..If you have have survived past abuse by a Narcissist Personality Disorder man (AKA Sociopath)Please check out our Meetup group .Good luck in your journey of healing!! God Bless You
how do you get somebody to recognize that they have NPD? to at least go to somebody who can diagnose him with the disorder?
i find it extremely difficult as this person does not realise that most of the things he does are just not right.....its the world who isnt right in his eyes...am i correct to be concerned?
@xH3Rx its very hard to get people to recognize you suffer from npd.. i told my mother i was npd and shes doesnt want to face reality, shes doesnt want to face the fact that my narcissistic disorder is the product of her relationship with my sick dad and her inability to get me out of it in time.. shes in complete denial and i think she might even be a victim of a narcissic herself...
and BTW, Fuck all you guys that hate ur just mad cuz we make u feel like less of a human =p. Let me tell you something about us Npd's, the people we use for our own self benefits are those that are weak, dont hate because ur one of the weak ones that we easily pick off. Ur like the retarted animal in a herd not paying attention to the Lion waiting behind the bushes. and at the same time i hate being NPD SO FUCK!!!!
Almighty God was with me. I want everyone to bear witness, I am the greatest!!!! I'm the greatest thing that ever lived. I don't have a mark on my face, and I upset Sonny Liston, and I just turned twenty-two years old. I must be the greatest!!!! I showed the world. I talk to God everyday. I shook up the world, I'm the king of the world. You must listen to me. I am the greatest!!! I can't be beat!!!!
and also it's not the preoccupation with ideal image (though it does appeal), it's more to do with the preoccupation with an IDEAL LOVE. That's why our relationships are odd , because we'll never match up to what we've created in our minds.
Do you expect everyone to be exceptional? And do you think that this is what I think of myself? Clearly, you have researched this disorder very poorly indeed.
No, not at all, I am very well researched on all things pychological. The thing, though, that I was addressing is that you, in your own words, stated "I am physically attractive and I am also talented". I just came in to tell you that you are not hot, or talented. That is all. No hard feelings.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I have NPD and it's so strange, the anger that people have towards us. I am physically attractive and I am also talented. If you type Sian Sofia into your youtube searchbar then you'll see me singing away, doing what i do splendidly.
People that are hating obviously have no idea and I do like to think that really, you're just pissed that you see yourself as someone suggestible and pathetic enough to "fall for the advances" of a narcissist.
Uh... SianSofia... if you have NPD then that means that you are considered a sociopath. Basically you are incapable of normal human empathy. That makes you something far less than human. Sorry doll, you're a broken and screwed up creature. Sucks to be you.
NPD means that you hate who you are and view yourself as worthless. It is defined as someone who never emotionally matured past the age of 5 or 6. Therefore the person creates a "perfect personna" that they beleive is themselves and everyone else adores. They can be very charming when they want somethign (much like a small child) but are generally hated because they treat everyone around them like objects to be used. The world would be a much better place without them. Nothing personal love.
Your wrong, I have NPD and I do not nore have I ever viewed myself as worthless. If anything the opp. And there is help for ppl w/ NPD i've had the same girlfriend for over a year now. And YES i'm in love w/ her. I did date her for the wrong reasons but, I'm glad I did. I'm very happy now.
Whenever my attitude of self importance is brought into question or criticized, I get depressed, start thinking about getting therapy for NPD.. But it wears off, my self confidence comes back, and I forget about it. Which always ends up with me being told off again and the cycle repeats. I'd like to get rid of NPD for one reason, and keep it for the other, though both reasons are equally selfish.. Seems I'm stuck :\
It's funny that you think there are such things as "personality disorders". I bet you have never even considered researching the history of psychology and how it came to be. Obviously, you attract situations like being told off often. The answer isn't seeing a "professional" (as if there is someone more professional at being you other than yourself), the answer is eliminating those unfavorable situations in your life. May I ask you, are you a physically attractive person?
I don't undesrstand. You say that "NPD" is about a perfect self image not defined by social standards? Or are you saying that by social standards, you are not a physically attractive person?
Why in the fuck are you so concerned about image anyway? Fuck people. They're all crazy. You, me, and everyone else. We are just psychotic apes out for our own best interest, regardless of anyone else's. I think that some have a right to be "narcissistic", and I don't think you fall into that category.
NPDs can't really change, the chances of cure are minimal. There are at least two kinds of NPD's transient and permanent. It's the stupid defense mechanism that they can't overcome. Crap. Do you know NPDs? they hav no life.
I agree asiannextdoor. They are definitely broken people who have discarded any chance of living a normal healthy life. They miss so much in terms of loving relationships becaseu every realationship is about giving only if you can count on a postive return. It's gross. They hate themselves too and assume everyone else thinks the sick way they do. So when others get hurt by their actions they view it as "weakness" or a sign of "stupidity." Not their own behavior as twisted and evil.
Shamans of native tribes around the world have sustained life for thousands of years wihin their tribe, many dont even have a word for fear or hate, yet many words for love and happiness. Through psychedelic, hallucinogenic drugs, the shamans, who contained extensive plant knowledge, would claim to heal the mind of impurities and negativity. In the next 5 years, this will play a major role in psychological treatment, it's just waiting for the right psychologist with the credetials to blow it up
"please join society by getting well" are you kidding me? there really isn't anything that wrong by being narcissistic. i am and so far i'm fine. so by saying that were not "part" of society is just wrong.
If you are, chances that you are only borderline, I'm talking about those that are not law abiding and/or abusive, you might want to double check your meaning of narcissistic, there are very few that would ever admit to it, that would go beyond the fake "special" "super human" image that one has of oneself.
WTH? America has a narcisstic culture of course you say it's ok to be narcisstic, selfish, incapable of empathy creatures. not even humans! you clearly don't fully understand the definition of NPD. not being a part of society only to gain attention- bullcrap. that's wat narcissts are.
I think we should all do everything we can to make known those Narcissist's who exploit others. So many people are seriously hurt by such people and the perpetrators often get away with it.

yes, you should be concerned, but you can' t make a NPD see it, they have to find out their selves,
If they are willing to go to counseling, encourage it, but, usually they are so good at lying that they will snow the doctors.
you have to take care of yourself, and usually that means cut them out of your life, unfortunately.
Many of them are stalkers, this video was good for the NPD in my life that wouldn't leave me alone. NPDs don't want to be found out.

DelusionDispeller on youtube has very good grasp on NPD's, she might be helpful, the only thing I ever figured out was to get away from them.

Therapy has helped me a great deal, but I was kinda forced into it. And I'm glad I was, now.
