Over a snowboard, you can be faster because of the position, you can push on the flat, but it's really the same kind of sensations on the snow... the others know that monoski is as well as performed than snowboard
...because they saw monoskiers at the derby of The Meije (best of the World) ...often before the snowboarders !
at least in 2009, 2008, 2007, ...
but it's the same for speed in KL:
Monoski : Xavier COUSSEAU - France - 212,260 Km/h
Snowboard : Daren POWELL - Australie - 201,907 Km/h

there's not much of an advantage over skis now that there are powder skis but they help you learn proper ski technique (keeping your legs together).
