  • That could be improved....

  • she's pretty good for her age, but there are some things

  • this is not fair. I want to play this

  • wow. that is LMusA level in Australia. and in 3 years??? HAX

  • wow she is good WOW! thats all i can say

  • omgg you're soo goood!!!!! really? for only 3 years? (well she must go to a really good music school )!!!! awesomm!

  • she might not be, but she already does it well, and with a few years experience ... that's incredible

  • she's not ready for this piece.

  • holy shit what kind of training does she get for this??? i'm only a violinist as a hobby for 10 years already and still amazed at what these kids could do :| great job though, i'm learning this piece right now and her playing has much soul

  • HOW?!HOW?!HOW?! and she's only 10??!?!? wth!???! wtf?!?!?! wtf!?!? i've been playin for almost like 6 years and i've never touched anything close to that in any way!!! soo excellenT!!! truly openned my eyes.

  • how did she memorize such a hard song!!!! That's like 12 minutes long!!!!!

  • So good! Very proud of u guys!

  • ........ and so the steraotype is true, all asians are freakin genuises.

  • Very good!! How long have you been playing???

  • GGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTT JJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBBBBBBBBBBB WWWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW EEEEEEEXXXXXXXXXXEEEEEEEELLLLEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • She should have a go at playing with an orchestra with this song one day :)

  • I know the reason she's so talented....she's asian xd

  • @joygrciacia just google it. you'll easily find it.

  • Bravooooooooooooooooo BRAVOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

since what age have you been playing violin and piano?

  • wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow really unbelievabel

  • Stunning.

  • holy freakin shit

    SHIT!

  • beginning was rlly good :D

  • on the bow crossing, it was a little too harsh.

  • in the cadenza when she had the trilling it was kind of out of tune. but over all, it was really. you have a lot of talent.

  • omg i love this concert. its amazing

  • your parents better be bribing you with something REALLY good so that you can practice that much.

    GG

  • woow it's very very well played!

  • such good vibrato technique is rarely seen in people as young as valerie is

  • She's really talented. How did she memorize a more than 30 pages piece.

  • She needs to work on intonation. She is very talented, but to be great, her intonation has to be perfect. Not saying she is bad at all. She's very good.

  • :O:O:O COOOLLLL. shell go really far one day!

  • and at the bow crossing she played it too loud, in the music it says PP, not FF

  • she still have some intonation to work. but just once awhile though.

  • well its not like this song exactly easy to play, but you're right, and this is really good

  • fantastic!

  • wow, you are sooo talented, you will be famous one day,

  • *to kuvhlubkojibleegxwbo

    yes they are talented

but they won't be famous one day...

    Because they're already famous!!

you should check out their other performances with famous orchestras etc.

PS: (to the video)the violin playing seemed to pierce my heart.... to beautiful *wipes off tears*

  • hey but wait. they haven't perform with big symphony though. so they are not that famous yet. but will soon be famous.

  • oh ok but... watever.... -^_^-

  • It was... AWESOOOOOOME!!!!

    (sorry for the caps)

  • Great job!!! Keep up the hard work..very impressive!!!

  • wow she's so good! she was amazing before, but now she's spectacular!

  • She is soooo good now.

  • Slightly off key in many places. First noticed in the 0:40s through the 1:00

  • You know, last time I watched one of her videos, I was thinking of you as another rising star. Now, this reminds me of Anne-Sophie Mutter when she was around your age. Your intonation, tone and vibrato have matured!

  • Yes, however much Anne-Sophie Mutter has accomplished when she was young, she doesn't appear to be that popular anymore. I personally don't really like her style of music.

But you never know where kids these days will go to, hopefully somewhere as far as the eye can see (:

  • Haha! I think Mutter has reached the point where her playing is stable - the usual bravura doesn't really strike many people.

Though, I like her interpretation. How she shifts the tempi, manipulates the vibrato(which albeit can get hysterical) and adjusts the dynamics appeal to me. Not to mention other recent works from modern composers that she executed meaningfully.

  • Valerie u are so lucky to have sister that plays piano really good !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is there anything these girls can't do? Leap tall buidlings?

Change the course of mighty rivers?

  • this is true, you mother fucker. when she was young, she played it sooo untune

  • *once again to kuvhlubkojibleegxwbo

she was good even when she was nine... "-_-

  • nice rich tone!!

    Bravo!!!

  • Major improvement in the violin playing compared to some of the videos where you were 9!! Much better use of bow, although you're still not making much use of bow speed. I would like to see you be able to use a much faster bow speed sometimes, and to be able to alter the bow speed in the middle a bow to help you shape the note. Good job!

  • 2 sisters playing the violin and piano together...how cool is that?? Valerie plays the violin so well, that I think she deserves to be playing with a world-class orchestra, such as the Berlin Philharmonic. And then her sister can play through some piano concertos.

  • Comment removed

  • I love her freedom of movement!! I hope she doesn't change it at all. Some people move much, much more than she does! I think it helps the sound and expression. I wish my violin students would move more!

  • spoken like a true teacher:D I have knots in my neck and shoulders because i'm told not to move......

  • Actually, my violin professor just recently performed this, compared to him shes not moving at all. Plus when you're 6'3 like him moving around looks wildly exagerated. Nothing wrong with moving around. Anyways, I think she might want to work on phrasing....

  • I think her phrasing is just so beautiful. She has musical sense and and her playing is just Amazing!

  • Love this! Keep it up!

  • I heard it takes 3 generations to develop such natural talent;

Are all the Kims musicians too?

  • 3 generations?

  • Oui.

My 1st piano teacher said that.

And it seems to be true. I'm a "1st generation" and I turn 15 this year, but I'm still on ATCL (Dip. 1 Trinity) level and my friend (violinist) also turns 15 this year, but he's still on ARSM (Dip. 1 ABRSM) and LTCL (Dip. 2 Trinity) level, not to mention we both failed our ABRSM Grd 8.

Meanwhile, famous musicians like Bach and Mozart and Lang Lang had/have musical families.

There's even a "Discover Magazine" article about musical ability being genetic.

  • o.O

wo-ow!! you play this with so much passion and with natural phrasing!!

I'm just starting this piece right now... any advice you can give me??

  • jeeeez,

    shes amazing.

    this peace is beautiful (:

  • about 5 minute I love that place xD

  • Always knew that you and your sister would always bring joy to people in your videos.

  • Yes, I agree.....so full of vitality.

  • A-MA-ZING.

  • unfreakingbelievable. only studied for 3 years? wtf?

  • WOW!!!!!!

  • Bold and Stunning. Truly chains me to it, never letting me avert my attention away.

    Wonderful performance :)

  • Very good! How old is this little girl?!

  • very hard to believe they are only 10 and 13 years, and she's been playing the violin for ONLY 3+years!!! They both are genius! They will be famous one day and we will see them at Carnegi Hall. I can't wait to hear her when she is old enough to play with full size violin! Super!

  • Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!

    Mary the supergranny
