@Temarinl @Temarinl - Nooooo-no-no, I'm in the same boat that you are! I would love to have as many animals as I've taped living in my yard -- all I have are squirrels and birds, pretty much. I set cameras up in a *lot* of different places to capture what I have been able to tape - it took me 12 *years* just to see a raccoon, and in that time I looked all over the place! I would absolutely love to live in a place with wildlife all over the place!

No, I was inside for this one, the camera was inside, but the microphone was outside. I have seen skunks from that porch before, they don't really mind when you sit there and watch them!

Nope... a little town near Rochester, NY... I've been visiting the area since my childhood and there are *always* trains going by the area!

Now WE have skunks and they've gotten into fights with the baby possums twice because the baby possums go after the skunks for some reason. Neither have gotten hurt, but the skunk sprayed them both times! And cool video! I love skunks!

Thanks! So do I! I wish we had those here too! I only saw one this year on vacation, and he ran off pretty quickly... Ha! You'd think they'd learn their lesson the first time around! It's a good thing no one got hurt though!

Yeah! The other night I saw the skunk and possum eating together so I think the possum learned it's lesson! It seems like if they just leave the skunks alone, the skunks don't mind!

I love to see them stamp their feet! When the babies do it they kind of lose contol of themselves. They are terribly silly!

Me too! These are the only skunks I've had a chance to tape, but they're so cool! It's kind of like all kinds of fuss over nothing, and then they both just go "eh..." and go their separate ways! I've never seen a baby skunk do that though!

Neither have I, but this is one of my first times videotaping skunks... Despite the multitude of clips I have on here, we're really in the absolute worst place for nature photography! I wish we had all kinds of things that we don't see here - *especially* raccoons! I looove raccoons! :)

This file was also from the VX2000, and also compressed in the same way (actually, *this* one might have been H.264 - I'm not 100% positive on that one!)

does your camera have a motion sensor? also i thought skunks were nocturnal..the only ones i've seen around my house during the day were sick. that was several years ago. turned out to be rabies.

My camera doesn't (although I'm working on making a motion sensor kit *now*), but the light at this house did - I taped all of the skunk videos on vacation... And this was around 1 or 2 in the AM or so... the light just makes it look like daytime. Most of the time, if you see animals like that during the day, they're most likely rabid - not always - sometimes they're just foraging, especially if they're pregnant or nursing, but if they're not, they might be sick... and that sucks... :(
