  • UP Thanks thismovie. from Japan

  • All the same true history ...but japan

  • well god fuck america such shame

  • One of most bitter movies i ever watched...Soldier blue

  • I so remember this when i was a kid SHOCKING

  • UUuhh..there was some historical omissions here but i do like the movie very much.

  • The Commanding Officer almost sounded like Bush after the invasion of Iraq.

  • Yes, thank you for uploading and giving free access to this movie... though the only ones that will watch, are the ones that already know the history and the ugliness that people with power over others can perpetrate... the alarming observation is... they consider without doubt they are the superior....

  • On November 29th 1864, a unit of Colorado calvary numbering over 700 men attacked a peaceful Cheyenne village at Sand Creek, Colorado. The Indians raised the American flag and a white flag of surrender. Nevertheless, the Calvary attacked, massacring 500 Indians, more than half of whom were women and children. Over 100 scalps were taken, bodies dismembered, plus numerous reports of rape. General Nelson A. Miles, Army Chief of Staff, termed the massacre "perhaps the foulest and most unjust...

  • No matter if we are indian, american, dansih, dutch or whatever, in the end we are PEOPLE. This was completly insane, sick and misserable. To kill people in this way is absolutly a dishonor. Thanks for sharing the movie.

  • @mylifebeyondreason You're very welcome; )

  • @fgulli720 ...dont know what to say anymore or what to feel..dont know anymore w/c is right these days..THE president of US givng the order to attack Iraq on a flimsy reason of WMD when all along they know it's a big lie..Still georgie bush give the order to attack same like in this movie killing mosly iraquis civilians..in asia they belive in KARMA n i am afraid for my son and his generations for i belive in this karma..THE US future genartion will suffer wen it sud only be bush & dad wu did it

  • @baredwin i have to agree with you on everything. its incredible that 40 years after this film was made and over 100 years from the sand creek massacre, nothing has changed. soldier blue could very be an allegory for afghanistan.

  • Thank you for posting this movie.

  • @meiadeleitenosol Your welcome: )

  • @fgulli720

since everyone is doing it that makes it okay? murder is murder - it doesn't matter who's side you are on.

  • @spanky9740 I Completely agree with you.

Not sure if this comment from you was directed at me since it looks like you responded to something I wrote (Im fgulli720). I dont think so since I am the one that posted the movie and as you can see from my other posts I share your same opinion on this subject.

  • FUCK YOU MOTHERFUCKER UNITED SAVATAGE OF AMERICA(U.S.A) FUCKING MURDERS SADISTS AND PATRIOT OF THE ASS! YOU ARE NOT AMERICANS YOU ARE CHILDRENTS OF EUROPE AND AFRICA THE ORIGINAL AMERICANS ARE ONLY THE INDIANS !

  • This was bad. History is full of very bad incidents. In fact, the farther back you go the worse the brutality gets. The source of horror in modern times is our ability to commit atrocities swiftly and on a massive scale. However, a scatter plot of humans as heartless beast would certainly include an averaging line showing improvement and moral elevation over time, not the opposite. A suggestion: Light up the darkness with acts of goodness and kindness. The world need not be a jungle.

  • I remember this film when it was first shown in the UK. Back then it had a far greater impact than it would on todays audience though I wonder if they would portray a woman having her breast cut off in the same way today.

There were many parallels with Vietnam, something America never quite came to terms with when history judged that the end was forever damned by the means.

  • Americans should be ashamed

  • mikirso,

What, like yours? Not likely. OOH-RAH!

  • The Indians were doing a pretty good job of killing each other off long before the white man showed up. The liberal myth of a land filled with one big happy Indian nation with everyone acting as environmentally-conscious stewards of Mother Earth is nothing but leftist twaddle. No doubt if left to their own devices the stronger tribes would have exterminated the weaker and smaller ones. That can also be called genocide. Period.

  • Typical politically correct leftist lies and propaganda. Funny how the Indians (sorry, I don't call them "Native Americans") only kill soldiers while the soldiers rape and massacre women and children. I'm not losing any sleep over the treatment of the Indians when they were treating each other far worse for generations before the white man showed up. History is full of diverse cultures coming into conflict, with the stronger ones prevailing. Time to grow up and deal with it.

  • @MrJerryespo leftist propaganda? In regards to Sand Creek I dont think so. Pry yourself from the John Wayne westerns and go read up on Sand Creek and Bear River and Wounded Knee massacres to name a few. For they were just the icing on the cake. The reality of what happened at Sand Creek is far worst then portrayed in Soldier Blue. Bottom line here, regardless of Native American brutalities towards white settlers (which did happen), is the genocide of an entire race of people. Period.

  • @MrJerryespo I hope Your bloody North-American underdeveloped country may sink into the bin of History.

I am a rightist (not a leftist) japanese. BANZAI

  • @mikirso

Furthermore, if my bloody North-American underdeveloped country does sink into the bin of history, who'll help you out after your next earthquake and tsunami?

  • @MrJerryespo earlier in the film were not some indians going to kill soldier blue and rape her - then kill her? i'm not sure how the comment 'growing up' is useful, but as for being alive, everyone has to deal with it.

  • Typical politically correct leftist lies and propaganda. • there is a positive side to sand creek ...the descendants of these people were able to guilt the white man into providing free room and board for the succeeding 150 years ..flea ridden, stone age savages became a nobe culture and joined the ranks of the professional victims in our society

  • well, that is the CIVILlIZATED WEST

  • 80% of the American Indians were massacred after being lied to, land stolen, food supply destroyed all by an American Gov't with "In God We Trust on the Money" by the same people who control our gov't now or descendents thereof. Same gov' that murdered WW1 vets in DC, imprisoned 200k American Japanese during WW2 for no reason, sent us into wars in Korea, Viet Nam, Laos, Cambodia all so the banker families could make more money, same reason they wanted the Indian land.

  • @4:55, 500 indians that were massacred? that would be more than double the estimates of the bear river massacre in idaho/utah, which was probably the worst massacre recorded, in terms of native american deaths. current estimations for the sand creek massacre is 70-163.

  • @EVERYONE!!! The really idiotic thing about most of the comments on here is that people are blaming one race/nation for violence. Yes, the US have a history of violence, but it's nowhere near as bad as what happened here in Tasmania to the indigenous population. The native Americans/Australians both fought amongst themselves! The fact is that PEOPLE all over the world are violent. I hate patriotism and I hate the way people absolve themselves from responsibility by blaming another race/gender.

  • The soldiers march away to the cheery tune of "The Battle Cry Of Freedom". Very bitterly ironic.

The main problem with the United States is that it was born out of unnecessary violence, and grew to strength through even more aggression.

Who in the world has more movies depicting heroic soldiers than the US? Do Americans worship violence, I wonder?

Likely, violence will be the nation's not inappropriate end. Then some other nation will repeat the same damn cycle.

  • @Infofan Why don't you get educated? We fought the Revolutionary War for independence form an oppressive power. We've fought just wars. We saved your ass in WWII. Why don't suck up the fact that your country has a very poor military, and stop hating on mine?

  • Disturbing!

  • "There are many humorous things in the world; among them the white man's notion that he is less savage than the other savages." - Mark Twain.

  • @sukneh Great quote and so true.

  • What a brilliant film that is. I remember seeing that the first time when I was about eightteen and it just devastated me. I wish there were more movies like this today. It's also relevant in showing how our military leaders are so convinced that what they were doing was right. Something that is not lost today.

  • hey, where is part 11 ?

  • @envanje Hey There,

I am sorry for the inconveniece but the censorship police on youtube has flagged part 11 as innapropriate therefore you have to actually log on to your youtube account to see it.

  • @fgulli720 They were right to do it - it's pretty gruesome. And, unfortunately, only a some exageration on the number of rapes. But, there was killing enough.

  • @envanje You not only have to log on to your account , you need to subscribe to fgulli720 account. in order to view part 11....

I am appalled after watching this especially part 11..after Spotted Wolf held up the Truce Flag and he was still shot at...when the Calvery started killing the Women and Children. The Grandmother in this movie looked like My Grandmother, the girls look like my daughter... and it made me really cry.....I know the anger will come shortly thereafter.........

  • Wasn't the Union Army "back East" also burning and pillaging it's way through Georgia at the same time (1864)?

It seems that the American way of warfare is to brutalise civilians EVEN THEIR OWN FELLOW COUNTRYMEN.

  • @7yournext7 I think you will find that declaring war on your own Countrymen is not a purely American concept. The English, Spanish and cambodians come straight to mind

  • fuck the Evil Devil ............

  • Wow, does anyone else find those 1970s voiceovers, like the one at the end of this (and the one at the beginning of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre) really creepy?

  • wauw, that was an incredible movie, never seen it, never heard of it before, what a gem! Nicely filmed except for the semi anoying same ol' western soundtrack, great writing, building the story up like that through a little love intrest, funny looking weapondealer towards the bloody slaughter of those poor indians, talk about real horror!

  • Fuck you soldier blue

  • Sorry about the several same comments, I'm not used to the new format

  • i take it the men chained 2 the wagons wer heroes who tried 2 stop the massacre

  • Relevant to the audience in the 1970s because of the My Lai Massacre of 100s of unarmed Vietnamese by US soldiers. Relevant today to the US's wanton wars upon the Iraqi and Afghan people and soon, should the people or should I say the sheeple of the US allow it, the PEOPLE of Iran. Sand Creek in 1864, Fallujah in 2004, My Lai in 1968. Wilful racism underpins all war. Perhaps we should investigate that hatred and contempt we act out upon our "enemies". Is war self-hatred projected outwards?

  • Mission Accomplished: "You men here today have succeeded in making another part of America a decent place for 'people' to live." Sums up the dehumanisation of "the enemy" necessary to wage war. Ironic: Native Americans' name for themselves usually means The People. A sad, despairing and beautiful film.

  • John Milton Chivington was born in 1821 at Lebanon, Ohio. good film but why is it that in this film he had an English accent.

Ive noticed that a lot of US made films depict the bad guys with English accents.

    £ STRANGE £

  • Even though errouneous, I would think it probably a way to simplistically depict breeding and social class, education?

  • @mcagun - that's not British, it's just "educated American". There is a hint of the pronunciation but it doesn't have the English lilt.

  • @mcagun plain jealousy mcagun

  • HORRIBLE

  • Indian people are the TRUE Americans....They had that land first!

  • the most amazing film ever made...i'm sorry its true

  • fuck american bastards

  • A similar massacre was the Jallian Wallabagh massacre of hundreds of unarmed civilians by the British in India.

  • Sand Creek was an evil episode in American history.

The continual breaking of promises to the Indians is right up there with it.

  • one of many evil moments?....

  • *Applause* one of the rarest movies that show the true colours of what the "americans" were like *****... Ralph Nelson has done a great job :).... at the end how can they be proud of such actions its beyond me!

  • Sigh... hokey music, barren village (looks like a 1969 KOA campground, Native Americans USED things, sheesh), stereotypical charaterizations, european 'indians'.

Granted it is a classic for it helped change the depictions of Native Americans....

No insult to -Soldier Blue- but....

    Same year, 1970,

    -Little Big Man-

Might as well laugh a bit while crying.

    A FAR better movie.

  • It happened, it's 'History", while this film may be off the chart in the opposite direction, so much of what we have been fed in Schools as youngsters is just 'written by the victors, not the victims'....Thanks for psoting this, Sir!

  • When the truth about the U.S. Cav's history is told the ignorant remain ignorant by choice and are doomed to their stupidity

  • I was an extra in this movie back in the early part of 1969 near San Miguel de Allende, Gto., Mexico. I and some friends that rode at a local jump club hung around and were in a few scenes playing both mounted Cavalry and mounted Indians (i preffered the Indian-role). I have never actually seen the movie until tonight! It's not bad! (and you are right Mr. hayyohkah!)

  • Fuck you bastard, evil racist !!!!!!!!

  • You are a descendent of the rapists and invaders, the ones dressed in black, who came and brought salvation and puritanism to their country, without even one minute to learn how they lived or what they believed in. Not much better than the evil Spaniard conquistadores. all in the name of resources, gold, land. Deceit and lies.

  • get a life...lmao u loser ...or better yet just kill yourself

  • @georgeBUSHrules1 I don't believe you. Why would you possibly think something like that? Iverson attacked an innocent village that didn't want to fight. Many of these soldiers were nothing but evil serpents that enjoyed raping and killing women and children. Maybe you should realize that the Indians did their bad deeds because of incidents like these. I know your stupid ass with an M4 and APC wouldn't be needed because the Natives were fighting in self defense at custers last stand

  • @guitardynastyperson

the red man was, for the most part, a savage who raided neighboring tribes for the express purpose of taking slaves, while killing the weak and infirmed among them....whitey at least treated his slaves far more humanely.....this was a propoganda film of the left, designed to undermine Manifest Destiny and free market capitalism......

  • @runnerrk My people raided rival tribes because they where either at war over something arrogant even I couldn't stand, sacred hunting grounds, or vengeance. They didn't take slaves and many times didn't take prisoners, they took women and children into their tribes and treated them as their own. The only people that used slaves where the white man, they couldn't take natives because we couldn't be "Tamed" so take the dick out of ur mouth and get ur fucking facts right retard.

  • @runnerrk far more humanly, what the fuck? if you were a slave I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be saying that shit. Sure, Natives did bad stuff, But I'm pretty sure if I saw people taking my land and murdering my families and kin, I would probably want to kill and scalp their families in return. Manifest Destiny was just another fucking christian hoax which cost the lives of millions of native Americans, popluation before white man 4 million, after the Indian wars, 1 million. what the fuck...

  • @guitardynastyperson Indians lost. Get over it.

Manifest Destiny was just another fucking christian hoax which cost the lives of millions of native Americans, popluation before white man 4 million, after the Indian wars, 1 million. what the fuck

  • @runnerrk If manifest didn't have the part of slaying millions of my race I would agree with you ya 55 year old wanker. True, native americans were primitive, sticking with their ways of life for thousands of years, they slayed one another because of a thing called, "WAR" look it up in a book called a fucking dictionary. War is when people mindlessly and ruthlessly slay one another, it happened within my people and their fued with the white man

  • @runnerrk By the way, the white man put the red man in to a moribund state, if what you said was true, natives would have been dead thousands of years before Columbus set foot to the U.S. Even with a more primitive life style, we survived. And are you saying that only natives ran around killing each other? Look at the crusaders, they killed babies with halberds because they were the son/daughter of those who didn't go by their bible. Look whose butchering each other now asshole.

  • @guitardynastyperson Nothing happened in North America that didn't happen in Europe 100 times over. Look at the Roman conquests. look at the Mongal invasion. That has been the history of the world since the begining. Not saying it was right but it was and is in some places still the reality

  • @runnerrk @runnerrk If this was revisionist crap the historical out come would truly be different. The reality is genocide, which has never been a good thing no matter what a group its perpetrated against.

  • @runnerrk As far as savagery such as scalping it was perpetrated by both sides. It is documented by white soldiers that refused to take part in the butchery at Sand Creek that against old people, and defenseless women and children, women were raped, bellies cut open to expose unborn babies, man's scrotums were indeed cut out to make tabacco pouches and limbs were hacked off. This from God fearing church going so called civilized people. So go join a white supremacist group or something.

  • @fgulli720 well said and very ture

  • @guitardynastyperson only white America expended much blood and treasure ending her slave practice....all other cultures advocate or practice it to this day.....moreover, many coloreds live in this great land today, thanks to the dutch slave trade......beats running around naked with a bone in one's nose while being eaten by lions......

  • @runnerrk You think slavery is a good thing? It's barbaric you hypocritical buttfucking patriot. This "great land" is filled with millions of gallons of blood from all the wars that happened here. Our country has pissed off almost every country in the world either from debt, war crimes, and many other things. If it gets worse, these other countries will blow us back to, "running around with a bone in one's nose while being eaten by lions."

  • @runnerrk

    lol at you...loser

  • @guitardynastyperson In the first place, the colonel in command of the 3rd Colorado Cavalry was named Chivington, NOT Iverson. Secondly, the native americans murdered more than 3 times the number of innocents that the cavalry did, and thirdly, this kind of shit is HUMAN nature--"If you have it and I want it and I'm stronger than you; it's Mine! If not, you get to keep it.

  • @guitardynastyperson Dude, the guys name is georgeBUSHrules, obvious Troll

  • You are totally ridicolous, you are EVIL.

  • masterpiece

  • "Yes, I was with Col. Iverson......In Hell!"

  • Revisionist western

  • Oh, is that so, and the visitor's history has not been revised has it? How many facts omitted in US history? he thing is, the Indians themselves could never make a western to make their version of the story, or that would be called revisionist too maybe?

  • You can't justify your own actions by comparing them to another's. Parents will tell their children off for saying, "The neighbourhood kids got this for their birthday, so why can't I get it, too?" It's a petty, immature attitude you need to grow out of.

The fact is, America's history is still being whitewashed and it's appalling. The same, could arguably be said of Japan, Germany etc. but that's entirely besides the point. Gain some humility and you'll gain some soul in the process.

  • Fascists? I don´t know they have committed a genocide..

  • americans disgust me. after seeing this i feel like purging my blood and setting my soul on fire. disgusting bigs. the indians were more decent than them.

  • Well no, actually they weren't, and the incident portrayed here was actually vehemently criticised by the American government of the day.

  • there will be a blood again....

    US still exist

  • Tanta violencia y odio nunca llevan a nada bueno!

  • Correcto-mundo Sr!...no mas lleva mas y mas por el futuro. La hora de pararlo es este instante, pero hay demasidos que ganan riquesas sobre la sangre y vidas de inocentes!
