@samlarsenwrites People on university campuses do not get stalked or raped for believing in Irshad Manji. Most of the Muslims on campus are actually secular and practiced Islam out of culture. In fact a person like myself that is actually very observant of Islam both spritually and politically has a better chance of being disliked.

Well actually I know this based upon what I have heard from Afghan people and a representative of the Taliban. When the Americans were trying to strike an oil deal with the Taliban they were not too concerned about their supposed "brutal ways". Irshad was actually on my campus when I was a jounior. I never heard of anyone being stalked or raped and we have thousands of Muslims on campus. And many of the students did not agree with her. Even a Muslim professor of mine didn't and said he said he thought she was bitter because she was a lesbian. At 4:40 she talks about rape and stalking.

A moderate is a person that wants to change Islam. This cannot be done according to Islamic teachings. Islam is very clear on its rules and regulations. People obviously have the freedom to call themselves whatever they want but that does not mean that it is Islam.

A group of women had reported that they were raped. A group of students ( Taliban), went from village to village rounding up the rapist & gave them death penalty. They also helped irradicate much drug usage also. This made them popular and they gain control in only TWO short years.

They also restricted SOME females from going to school because the believed due to the high incidents of crime in some areas it was to dangerous for women to go to school. Well actually I know this based upon what I have heard from Afghan people and a representative of the Taliban. When the Americans were trying to strike an oil deal with the Taliban they were not too concerned about their supposed "brutal ways". The power actually never corrupted America simply told lies in order to have an excuse to invade and get its hands on the natural resources. I don't believe America’s version of the Taliban. The government and the media have lied enough to me.

For 9 years people have been saying that Afghanistan had no value and it was about terrorism. Finally America "recently finds" natural resources a year before Obama was about to start pulling out. I first heard abot this story from associated press. Then CNN and even FOX News reported this story saying it was legitmate. Its not like I believe everything the Western media says, I have always believed America was in Afghanistan for money. Its just funny that American media finally admits what we as Muslims have knew all along. But I know the media will lie and use this as an excuse to stay in Afghanistan for some lame reason. So ultimately this will still not benefit the Afghans.
