@MrNickGir Well, Im just saying that my prefference is for the old late 60's style ska. And I guess when I say the ska that came out of SoCal, I mean most of the stuff that I was exposed to wasn't very good in my opinion. I've not heard a ska band that wasn't from SoCal. And I didn't say that 3rd Wave started in SoCal.

I met these guys on Warped Tour a couple of years back. Very laid back, humble guys. I love their music. Its always a warm sound even when the lyrics are a bit sad. Whatever you want to call it, it's good music. Raw and real. Jamaican Ska is a lot different and a LOT better than the SoCal ska that came about. Check out the Trojan Box Set of Ska.

No, the verse of the song is based off of 60's Jamaican ska. A precursor to reggae. Ska was created in the '60s and I don't mean the stuff from the 90s like Bosstones or early No Doubt. That is not Ska.
