  • was that all..

  • The roses have gathered round, claiming what they'll respresent to humans. Love was the red, hope was pink, happiness was yellow, and so on....until only sadness was left. The blue rose, being beauty, felt that the others didn't want to be known as sadness, never given away...So the blue rose became beautiful sorrow. This is her song she sings, waiting until a person shall weep upon her moonlight petals

  • The Secrets of the Night.

  • As soon as it started I was like I AM ENCHANTED...

*Stays on video unlike every other video*

  • From what I know nox means night and arcana means secret, so nox arcana would roughly mean secret night or maybe secrets of the night. But I am not sure so if anyone who knows latin could translate I would be grateful.

  • @TheStormbringer93 'Nox' = 'the night' and 'arcana' = 'secrets of' therefore 'nox arcana' = 'The secrets of the night'

'Secrets is oft interchanged with mysteries to give 'The mysteries of the night'

    You were essentially right.

  • @TheStormbringer93

Nox Arcana=translated=The secrets of the Night

  • Hypnotic

  • @Ravendark42

Thank you for your criticism, its very helpful in my process of hving a fluent writing. I enjoy hearing others ideas on my work.

P.s, what kind of writing do you do?

    @MrNightwishFun

    Thank you!

  • What is this beautiful singing?

    It's the mermaids tune...

Legend has it that she sings to mourn something

for over thousand centuries she has done it, same night for every 100 years that pass

    no one knows what

    no one knows why

but we all cry as she does... animals, children. even the toughest of creatures

We call it: The tune of sorrow

  • Dies nox et moriemur...

  • I think Nox Arcana does a lot of music for haunted houses. Sometimes they can be cheesy but fun, sometimes they can genuinely be spooky though :D.

  • :D

  • Nox means the night in latin

  • @OzoneStitch nox arcana stands roughly for night magic.

  • Nox Arcana uses digital sampling to create these songs. What you are hearing aren't real instruments being played, the tracks are made at a computer with digital composition software. The songs are still good nonetheless, but they would be a much better quality if played on real instruments by a real orchestra. As a musician, I sometimes feel this is kind of cheating.

  • @BritRider27 You're absolutely right.... I too wonder what this would sound like on real instruments..

  • so amusing, so good!!

  • That feeling... Yes, I remember... A wonderful feel within me, this piece of music gives... A mystical ego it wakes up... Inside me... One that was sleeping for as long as I can recall... He who makes everyone dance... I say, I said it wakes me up... A mystical ego, I am... One that was sleeping for as long as the memory brings... He who makes everyone dance, I am... Smile, for soon we will all dance again... And see the red rivers flowing as we dance... Then for waking me up, I thank you...

  • @ThatTrollGuyAgain Epic comment

  • this is one of my favorites, i not usually or easily scared by things. *vanishes away slowly*

  • First time hearing this song, hummed along with it perfectly. Weird?

  • It could be a signal to those who have carried the weight of others or hav hidden behind a mask so that people may forget their own problems. It may be a signal of those who have struggled with emotional things, much like I. I think of a black rose as a symbol to the soldiers of Hope, those who may have eternal rest of their duty once given the rose. I belive that if it is given to the proper person, it will bring relief and joy to a weary fighter. To anyone else, it may seem as just a rose.

  • @surviverofall Beautiful

  • Oh. My. Gawd. I love it!

  • Thank you

  • Thank you, and I did.

  • Centuries passed Ruina like days do for others. Her jet black hair hung loosely behind her, her chocolate eyes watched the people go by through her gilded window. From her ivory tower she watched the people below. Never changing was her face, never changing was her heart. Ever present sorrow kept her in her tower. A soft lullaby washed over the moonlit village, the voice belonging to the lady Ruina. So sad was her angel's voice, like a single rose in the heart of winter.

  • I'm actually writing a story called The Magic Musicbox (yeah i know, it doesn't sound very original) and this music is extremely helpful thank you

  • It doesn't look like sorrow to me

    It looks more like...

    Eternity

  • Thank you. I'm writing a story about the zombie apocalypse actually.

  • Sorry, I made a mistake. Yes the girl with the black hair is the girl with the red lips sister. The girl with the red lips name is Elizabeth and the girl with black hairs name is Susie. Susie is the youngest, out of the group and out of the sisters.

  • "Emmaline!" The girls black hair laid out in a braid.

In the meadow is a box. So perfect, yet uncomplete. There it waits for the last child to make it whole. Just one last soul for its purpose. Listen to the song of the blue rose and fall into a slumber which you shall not wake.

  • @surviverofall hey did you make this story up? It's really good.

  • Parents weep as the machines go silent. Their cries echo down the hospital, all to hear their sorrow. "Mary-Ann! Oh,why?!" A mother cries over her daughter, whose favorite purple bow nestled in her hair. "Nicholas! Don't! Please, don't!" A father begs over his son, whose green eyes were shut. "Susie, Elizabeth!" A mother sobs for her two daughters. "Dear Lord, why Sebastion!?" The boys blue cap rested on the table next to him.

    (Continued in the next comment)

  • @surviverofall O_O You need to write books

  • The oldest saw the vines coming and had them run, but the sister tripped on a exposed root. The oldest, with eyes as green as spring grass, went back and helped her up, but it didn't do any good. They were both caught and on the box came a red rose and beautiful green stems, laced with thorns and leaves. The boy with the blue cap grabbed the girl and they both ran as fast as they could. They could see the sun and scurry towards it.

    (Continued in the next comment)

  • She kicked and shouted as she got sucked in the box, now looking like it was covered in soot. Her sister, whose lips were red as blood, tried to grab her hand, but it slipped by. The oldest dragged her away as the vines went after the kids. It got the girl with the purple bow and ate her in a second. A purple rose appeared on the box and the rest of the children gathered like a flock of birds.

    (Continue in the next comment)

  • The girl with the purple bow hesitated and the oldest child, a boy no older than twelve, placed his hands on the box. He opened it and so delicately, came a song. It was so pretty and sweet sounding, all of the children stopped to listen. Until the boy with the blue cap pointed to the box and screamed. Out came a vine, much like one you would find on a wall, and it grabbed the nearest child. The poor child, the youngest girl whose hair was black as a cave.

    (Continued in next comment)

  • I don't know if anyone already did this, but here's another poem/ story.

The girl laughs as she runs through the forest. Her friends giggle as they wach her dance, yet they could not deny the girl was graceful. The friends came across a meadow and there they found the most prettiest music box. The friend with a purple bow in her hair went to the strange box. The two sisters cried out "Open it! Quick! Quick open it before we shall awake!"

    (Continued in the next comment)

  • Beautiful...

  • I read the first top comment and thought "That's just gorgeous. I'll have to remember that." Then I read the second top comment. Mood killer. XD

  • @G33k4Lyfe I really do have to agree with you there man.

  • @G33k4Lyfe i know right

  • For some reason this song reminds me of once upon a December from the movie Anastasia

  • I'm in love

  • This reminds me of the Silent Realms from Skyward Sword!!!!

  • Even though its a sad song wich i like a need a sort of slow song to help me sleep and this is a perfect song for it, its soft but sad and it almost made me fall asleep

  • A lullaby, eh? I will have to test this song's effectiveness on several neonates to determine its actual value as a lullaby. However, I will admit that the song depicts the emotion of dark sorrow quite well. It is simply too bad that the sorrow was short lived.

  • The dancers danced their beautiful dance, as the snow fell blissfully, quietly throughout the silent woodland. Winter had come and it was time for sleep. The dancers all danced and they began to weep. Summer was gone, winter had come. And now it was time for them to lay down at the master's feet. (This is what i picture as this song plays)

  • @GhostWhiteSnow me too. Beautiful comment!

  • i have this song!! :0 my bf just gave me a little box that when u open it this beauitiful song comes out and its this one. it says its called something dream .....

  • this is Absolutly GORGEOUS!

  • @surviverofall yea the small story i was wondering too ? It was a really cool story btw ;P

  • my god who invited all the emos

  • To me it feels like the beautiful lament of a creature thats existed since the dawn of the stars and sees all in a way we could never comprehend. enough opinion Thank you for posting these guys cuz i would of never had thought or found in any music store round here. beautiful, absolutely beautiful. thanx again. o yea how olds this group where they at or from and do the have any M.V.??? easier for someone who know to tell me rather than trying to look em up, sinks in more for me.

  • @surviverofall roses are much too cliche, I like Barlow Columbine (A famous black flower) and lilac :)

  • @surviverofall Did you come up with this on your own? If you did, this was absolutely beautiful. - - I had to say it.

  • @surviverofall where'd you get that from?

  • @surviverofall Write more poems.

  • @surviverofall This makes me want to go buy a bouquet of big, blue roses. I'm just not sure if I can find them...

  • @Yuvi9108 blue roses don't exist yet

  • @eulerkaku yes they do now their a hybrid color

  • @Seofangurl Not exactly blue though, they are closer to purple from what I've seen

  • @surviverofall that is deep

  • @surviverofall Hmm, my favorite rose is the black rose. Which is that?

  • @surviverofall Good story, good imagination. I can feel your inspiration. I do some writing myself and I know criticism can be painfull but here it is: Your short sentences are good but you struggle with the long ones and have few. It creates lots of pauses in the story and thus in the minds of the reader. A more natural and longer flow can take the reader farther and deeper, creating a stronger emotionel response.Just my opinion Thank you for your bravery in sharing your art!

  • Sounds like the opening of a Tim Burton film.

  • @armorassassinx Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is what pops in my head.

  • this is so beautiful and magestical...

  • lovely

  • Shy little flower please dont be afraid, shy little flower you're the blue pretty rose. Shy little flower you're just the lonely shining rose, blue little rose you're all alone, alone all alone among the pretty rose. Blue little rose you've felt all our pain, how much must you suffer caused by this world.

  • @gorsloth1 yeah it from Pan's labyrinth i just could rember the whole story so i made some parts up...that was a good movie this song reminds me of that movie.

  • Whenever I hear this, I imagine an old abandoned house with floors of grey wood and funiture covered in a soft layer of dust. There is an old clock in the hallway, a soft gold that is broken and yet still plays this tune. A girl, full of vibrate colour, sits next to this clock, unable to fix it, unable to stop listening, and remains where she is for the whole of time.

  • she did leaving her bloodied body on the floor walked up to the moon feeling protected in the pale light

    "welcome home Lira"

  • all the boy did was point to her bloodied chest which had a giant hole in it

"we're not the only ones Lira follow me"

  • shocked the girl agreed and packed what little dresses she had and clibmed out the window and went to where the boy now lay

blood shown in the pale light her eyes one white one red were glowing as well she began to run as screams filled the air she stoped and laughed "enjoy death father"

"it is just reward for your insubordent disgusting ways of life"

when a boy poped out of the bushes she screamed

"shh Lira its me jack follow me"

    "b-but jack you you died"

  • dancing in the moonlight the darkness many nights was her escape

escape from the hell she lived in

one night a boy saw her in the pale light her snow white hair and skin glowing in the pale light

when she saw him there her eyes locked on him

"who are you" the boy asked

"I'm Lira Clara Marie Ophelia Lislthait and whom might you be"

"jack. Lira no? your abused arnt you i can see the bruises so dont lie come run away with me leave this place"

  • one thing that came to mind

    next post will be another

  • "with me for my baby and husband died"

the girl gave the oddest smirk ever

"ma'am there not the ones who died you are"

and with that the little girl walked away

  • she walked the street alone no one gave a passing glance not one she continued to walk "some one will notice they have to" she thought "just as long as i keep walking" hours later she is stopped by a greiving mother "have you no home child?" the young woman asked "no for my mommy and daddy died a year ago but before they died they told me to walk untill theres no more land or some one stops me" the girl explained "but no one looked at me till now" shocked the mom asked "would you like to live
  • Please, stop with all the dramatic/depressing/unnecesary stories. It's just music, JUST MUSIC. No need for depressing things man. Its all depressing.

  • @thisismyusername617 yeah...why is it that the best movies are always in other languages?

  • Dramatic/magical music that's very interesting

  • OOhhhh HIgher Power.. You've led me to what i love.. the sound of Music Box's

  • I love Nox Arcana.

  • @AmotoTaboshi there once grew a blue rose at the of a mountain. the rose granted imortality to anyone who picked it; freeing it from it's solutude at the top of the mountain. There one thing hindered the people from granting the blue rose's wish the mountain was covered in poisonous thorns that no one could avoid. Finally after many deaths the people stoped trying; leaving the blue rose forever alone atop the mountain and that is where it is to this day waiting for the day it can be plucked.

  • @DarkWingsCarryMeAway Haha...Pan's Labyrinth. Amazing movie.

  • i thought i could tell you where the rose is for the boy trapped in @AmotoTaboshi's story. (above) but i ran out of characters while typing to explain this in one sitting.

  • So very beautiful...

  • This a song to dance to your grave to.... so very haunting...

  • A child on a swing, hated by the staring eyes that glare like coals. The snow falls gently, the stares fade and the child is left there. Her mother never comes. She waits for a day, then two, before a stranger takes her in. Pretty much the story of my best friends life...

  • this goes right to my favourites!

  • ...creepy little doll-music, if you ask me O_o

  • the shining moon, glistining light. its a fight for the sky. every night someone must die. the moon with no light reflects the sun, in the moon beams, a passage for one. a lonly mother softly cries, because her alone knows who must die. every night she spins to there side, the side of her children, she guids a soul every night to the moonbeams. her smile reflecs the cresent moon, easing her children through. our mother of earth, all things living peace and grace, thats what her children face.

  • I could just twirl for all eternity when I hear this song.

  • @Dietrichsgrlforlife in a white fluffy dress in darkness while its snowing. alone.

  • @Dietrichsgrlforlife ...in a white fluffy dress in the darkness while its snowing...alone.

  • Can't someone make my heavy heart light.....it all starts with a lullaby.

  • do you have a longer version?

  • Great music to use in a contortion performance

  • The little girl danced through the still, silent woods. Swinging around trees, disturbing snowflakes and sending them up in little puffs. Slowly, so slowly, bleeding to death from the head wound she had recieved, spattering the snow with every jubilant twirl. Slowly, so slowly, but she did not slow her dance, until she fell finally, a bright smile on her face. -So sweet and enchanting, yet so very sad and longing, like a pictured face staring out from its frame, wanting to live again.

  • @TransylvaniaMacabre What is that from?

  • @ShadowSmirks I would follow the music and be enchanted without hesitation :)

  • how could anyone dislike this? it's so beautiful un.

  • Just discovered them....love!! There aren't a lot of instrumental musicians out there that really make you FEEL the music, they do a great job of making it stick in your mind. I love them!

  • :o

  • I love reading the stories people come up with for this song. Some are pretty interesting.

  • years have passed and i still listen to lovely nox arcana songs.. i never get tired of them

  • Lost, surrounded by mounds of white snow and the richly dark brown bark of towering trees.A small girl with long honey colored hair and dressed a torn, faded gray dress dances in the clearing, bare feet sweeping across the pale powder. Her eyes are close, and she hums softly, singing along to the hushed words of a forgotten lullaby.Slowly, breathing deeply, her movements take her down to the wet ground.Spinning her last, slow circle, she lays down onto the twigs and leaves, and her chest becomes still.

  • As you walk through the snow filled woods, you see the ghost of the dancer who had been murdered years ago. Stories of her haunting, have been told for years. They say she would dance in those woods, every day and every night. You watch as she dances with such melody. Then she is gone, you run after her, trying to locate her, but all there is to be found, is snow with footprints of a ballerina in them.

  • @XxDarkEndsmILezxX

    tell me more

  • @Blackheartedhethan you mean tim burton right? and i agree it reminds me of edward scissorhands.

  • Whoa... O.O Holy crap...

  • I wish here in orlando,fl there more goth ppl, I guess is to hott for all that

  • i think of an old doll in a victorian gown slowly mimicing a ballerina then coming to life an moving like she has gears inside then she takes out a knife out of thin air and stabs you in the stomache and you get to watch yourself die. :) too me these are mostly my good dreams.

  • amazing:D

  • This is like listening to the soul of a child, soft, scared, and lost, that is slowly fading.

  • awwwwwww

  • Everytime I hear this song, I always think of a boy who is trapped in a special part of the woods where he can't ever leave. No one can see him behind the barrier. But he can see them, and every day, there is a dance group that pratices in the park next to his woods. to pass eternity, he dances with them, and the dance groups that come after them. He is better at dancing than any of them. but he will always be trapped. Until one day when a single rose grows and he just wants to show it his dance

  • @AmotoTaboshi that is really fucking gay

  • @AmotoTaboshi Write a book about it!!! I'll buy it!!!

  • songs like these let me escape the real world. if only i lived in their world.....
