  • Very useful information. I am very interested. thanks boss...

  • What’s 10 time sicker than the patriot act, holds your kids hostage and helps destroy families ?

A word that should not of even been made up Family Law as if there is such a thing but since you let them in your screwed.

  • Obamacare was signed on March 2010 with 59% of the people disapproving according to a CNN poll. The CBO scored Obamacare on six years of coverage for 10 years of taxes, which is how the CBO showed the bill to be deficit neutral . It’s unconstitutional mandating all citizens to purchase health care. Even Pelosi said, “We have to pass the bill, so you can find out what is in it.” watch?v=KoE1R-xH5To It’s also meant to take over industry watch?v=p-bY92mcOdk

  • not to mention the tenth amendment, which basically says that the federal government can't really make ANY laws, AT ALL

  • awesome

  • @559Shrimp831 There isn't any argument that the people that founded this country did some damned horrific things.

But look at our current country. We're in 2 wars in the Middle East. We have been at war in the Middle East for about 50 years. Our nation toppled the Iranian democracy in 1953 with operation Ajax to steal oil.

We keep despots in power, and we're bankrupt. See how it effects you when the dollar goes to zero because we went to a fiat monetary system. You're going to see it.

  • Where were the Tea Party forerunners when the Patriot Act was being shoved through Congress? Idiot Democraps and Repugnicans both voted for it, save one.

I think the Tea Party was taking a siesta '01 to '09, that Chamomile Tea they drank back then really makes you sleepy!

The Patriot Act is really the Traitor Act because TRAITORS wrote it!

A FASCIST premeditated wish list shoved through Congress when America was on its knees. An absolute disgrace of the Cheney/Bush years.

  • @MiKikaIwaShizaru "Where were the Tea Party forerunners when the Patriot Act was being shoved through Congress?"

    Hey, they WERE there.

Since then, however, the Tea Party has been entirely replaced by a bunch of morons which are basically just rabid stupid Republicans.

The original teaparty is sort of like the original nation - dead.

  • @MiKikaIwaShizaru I cringe as I recognise your truth.

  • Why is it that when we bomb a country based on lies no one says anything. When we try to help our own people everyone is up in arms. We give money away to many countries later these same countries attack us yet no one is outraged.

  • @michp38

I wanted Obama to succeed even though I didn't support him, he has gone back on so many promises, I don't think he is really in charge!

Obama signed a Patriot Act extension without reforms, for God's sake!

When will people realize the Dems and Reps are two sides of the same corrupt coin? Either Obama is a sellout or he is being controlled, same result either way.

J Edgar Hoover understood the power of information to control people in Washington! NSA/CIA Dirt = Absolute POWER!

  • @michp38 You forget that is all the fault of imperialist white male culture sold to the devil and creating their preferred hell on earth...or... something over the top like that.

  • I am not rich, but this nation was founded on sovereign states, people with a take care of myself attitude. The govt was there to protect our right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The govt was not there to provide it.

You are nothing but an arrogant leech.

  • @559Shrimp831

Really now? the only ones against health care are the rich? because when i was ten years old, my family lost our house because we couldn't afford it. we were homeless. we had to live in my grandma's garden shed for two years. that was seven years ago. we lived on diet rite and gas station pizza for four years. we had nothing. but thank u for informing me that i'm wealthy, because i never realized that before, but it makes me feel a lot better now that you've told me

  • if the Government has you sifting through your client data for information they want, then you should send them a bill for services rendered.

they compensate for sales tax collections done by business owners, why not this too?

  • OPT OUT of blomacare..

    IT's POISON..

    Nobody wants it...

  • it would have been mccaincare if he got elected, since both were saying they were going to have during the debates.

this is a scam, there is no separation of party, they both are for the same thing.

since a president is not elected, but selected, then it all don't matter.

  • Violation of financial Privacy because of the Patriot Act?....

As long as no one is taking money from my account why do I care.

The government is just looking for tax evaders, which is illegal. I am totally for tax avoidance, but not evasion. If taxes need to be paid, they need to be paid. Otherwise all the upper class will be shielding the income on tax shelters in other countries. Then the lower and middle class who do not have access to these tax schemes pick up the tab.

  • Like you said if it looks like there are suspicious transactions, the government will take a look at. If there is nothing to hide, no worries.

I do admit that it the title is misleading, but what it is doing is good for the country as a whole.

I do however do not believe that the spending of government is as efficient as it can be.

  • Comment, I want to know what you think about it.

  • You may not care about personal privacy, but the founding fathers did, and that's why it's in the constitution. You disgust me.

  • constitution says no tax on labor, so where is the evasion?

  • hey you publicans,,you better hide yo money fast cuz i kinow this dude that picks yo pockets and makes you think you like it man..chumpetty chump chump...

  • God Bless Peter Schiff.

I only wish I lived in the same state so I could vote for him!

Repeal the Patriot Act! Repeal the Income Tax! End the Fed!

  • schiff is talking some deadly accurate truth here

  • Yeah, I hope they don't have him shot for it. :-(

  • The strength of the Constitution lies entirely in the determination of each citizen to defend it. (A. Einstein)

  • @freeenterpriseworks4 And defend it we need to be ready to do.

  • True. But how? How can I defend it? I don't feel like I have any power to do that at all.

  • @sidewinderguy you have that power in you as a living, breathing, human being. you are born with a certain power called life and you can choose to do whatever you want with it.

  • Our government is the real terrorist

  • The Tax Complication Act, ROFLMAO.

  • dont forget artical 1 section 8.. yet another example of how they are unconsitutional.

and i quote "The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States"

SHALL BE UNIFORM THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES!

  • i believe America is really doing a job of destroying everything. they rob, steal, and kill the dreams of average people and doing a good job at it . doesn' that sound like the devill!!! Its time for all people to come together and try to defend ourselves, people of all colors and backgrounds because and the end of the day its going to be us against them.

  • Keller13, if you don't like what Mr. Schiff is saying, than why are you watching his videos. Go somewhere else and complain, you moron.

  • This guy talks a big talk. he says he is against what our government is doing, but he is going along with it just the same. As far as I am concerned, he is just as much part of the problem. He should say "no".

  • Peter Schiff 2010!!!

  • I can move my tounge like a snake!

  • USA PATRIOT act = Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001

  • Then how did the "Christmas Day Bomber" get explosives onto a plane?

  • He was flagged past security by apparently some member of local intelligence. He did not go through the normal security checks nor did he have a passport. But now we all have to get digitally strip searched and recorded in the buff for this false flag psy-op disguised as a terror attack

  • Exactly and that doesn't sound like efficiency to me. It probably also won't work. Technology can be outsmarted by other technology and so on. Computers shouldn't be administering security, people should. After all, shouldn't people keep other people safe if that's their jobs?

  • Sure it does that, but that's not the problem. The problem is we are a country about freedom, we are a country where we have established a check and balance system of 3 seperate pieces of government, yet the Patriot act has no check and balance. We are simply expected to believe it will not be abused. Even if those in power would not abuse such authority, there is no guarantee the next group of people in office wouldn't.

  • DIRECT TV will rip you off. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE

  • Who are you to make these claims about healthcare? Isnt that a check and balance that belongs to the judiciary? The Supreme Court decides what unconstitutional or not, not the President, Congress, or you. Know your role.

  • btc8182: Excuse me, that is like saying you are just going to walk around doing whatever you want because you are not qualified to understand the law. Get real, the supreme court is there for things that are not clear. Most things are clear if it's constitutional or not.

The administration is doing whatever they want, they know it's not constitutional. Its like driving 110 in a 55 zone for half an hour. We all know what 55MPH means and 110 is not allowed, even if its just for for 30 min.

  • Respectfully, I disagree. Your example completely ignores the role of law enforcement. The constitutionality of any rule or law is uncertain until its challenged. I would rather have experienced judges, well versed in constitutional law decide if healthcare is constitutional or not, not this guy, not me, or you for that matter. Your free to have your opinion, just dont try to govern me with it.

  • The thing is, the constitution is fairly simple in what its guidelines are. There are areas that are unclear, which it is the role of the courts to decide. Our current polititions are ignoring those guidelines even in areas where it is painfully clear what the spirit of the constitution means. It is like breaking a law that is painfully clear and saying, I will keep doing it until a judge tells me it's illegal. The polititions need to follow the clear guidelines, let the court decide the unclear

  • I do not agree

  • So basically you are condoning do whatever you want until you get caught and told it's not allowed? Pretend the constitution does not exist until the supreme court officially says something is not constitutional. That is kinda crazy.

  • Now it sounds like you dislike freedom and the rule of law. Youre starting to sound preachy and incredibly hypocritical. Youre acting like you have an encyclopedic knowledge of the law and Im sure you dont. And those are your words about the constitution, not mine. Youre the one claiming healthcare is unconstitutional, the burden of proof is on you. You can have your opinion but guess what? It means nothing, but the Supreme Courts does. And Im good with that. Your logic is weak.

  • LOL No, I like freedom and everytime these clowns pass a new law I lose some freedom. They need to follow the constitution, use it as a guideline as it was intended. Let the court decide things that are unclear. They are not doing that. They are doing whatever they want, then saying prove it's not allowed. That is not a responsable way to do things but that is the only way libs get radical things done. You are coming from the same position and its kinda funny, you look foolish with that position

  • I see this is conversation is degrading down to insulting comments. Thats disappointing. You have a systemic misunderstanding of our legal/constitutional system. Being called foolish by a fool means less than nothing. Tell the Supreme Court your opinion, they might care more than I do. Good Bye

  • I understand how it works. My point is why do something that clearly is not constitutional and unlikly to be upheld by the court. You are condoning just do it, hope it is never challenged. The constitution is an exceptional document that recognizes individual rights and allows us to live in a way few in the HX of mankind have been allowed to. You are condoning creative ways to get around or ignore it to get a liberal agenda passed. Aspects of health care will get challenged, we will see then

  • I think it's sad that so many Americans won't support universal health care because they hate and fear the government so much. I'm more afraid of businesses trying to cash out on me than I am of the gov., since I have the opportunity to make a change to the government but I can't with for-profit businesses.

  • @juliaisafilmbuff123

I have paid over $300,000 to Social Security and Medicare. I have "not" collected a penny and Politicians tell me there is no money left????

    Politicians regulate businesses.

    Politicians ARE the problem!

  • @juliaisafilmbuff123

"hate and fear" the government more like not trust because the constitution apparently means nothing. The document does not protect itself.

Yes there is a problem with business and financers because they have the means (tons of money) to make thier voice heard. That said the people generally get the government they deserve - stated as a function of their overall participation and ability to judge their leaders charcter and hold them accountable.

  • I want to say first off that the deals cut for Nelson and Landrieu suck...but of course they are consititutional. Thats called horse trading and its done with EVERY major piece of legislation, from both sides. Heres a crazy idea, if republicans didnt want that deal to go through so bad, then why not just vote for the bill?

  • Schiff FTW

  • jjajajajjajajaj goood point but i dont agree with the point .

  • I can't imagine why anyone would want to be coddled/directed by a bunch of bureaucrats. Most of these Gov't cronies are in need of direction and oversight themselves.

Over 230 years ago our forefathers addressed this in the Constitution. The bozos who call themselves Progressives are nothing more than a collective stain which, no matter how many times you try to cleanse it, it resurfaces.

Ignorant of history, blinded by idolotry, hubris, and naivete'-the Progressive stain will fade once again.

  • So you think that in our current private insurance market you AREN'T being directed by bureaucrats? The only difference is that the bureacrats who work for the government would be trying to help you, while the bureacrats for the insurance companies dont give a damn about you, just your wallet.

  • The FDA is not here to protect the health of the American people, they are here to ruin it! Hey Rumsfeld, yeah, you and your special interest friends, Mr. Aspartame! Want real health care? Start with the FDA and make them do what they were set out to do in the first place!

  • we need A FDA to prevent toxins and poisens in our food. The government isnt inheritely bad its just run by corrupt men.We need govenrment not free market anarchy

  • But the government isn't who we may think that they are. They are the tycoons behind the scenes with no "political" positions that think that they own the planet. And they also feel that it would be a good idea to depopulate it because they feel that there are too many "useless eaters" running around,

  • 9 times out of ten it is an American citizen who gets sick first and then the FDA comes in. They do a lousy job of catching bad food before the private sector. We pay them big bucks and they don't do a heck of a lot.

  • I agree but was it the private sector who gets people sick or the government? So if people are getting sick from toxins in the food now imagine what would happen if the FDA was abolished.Yes the FDA does slack off once in a while but its not because the agency is inheritaly bad its just been hijacked by bigpharma and big food companies lobbyists etc...For crying out loud do you know why the pure food&drug Act was passed in the first place? It had to do with Upton Sinclair's book The Jungle

  • Actually the consumer is the key because if a bad product is put out people won't buy and the company goes out of business. When the Government gets involved there is money under the table to hide facts from the consumer or money put in pockets to pass inspections. If you look at the panel say for the drug lipitor you will find that 9 out of the 12 FDA agents had ties to drug companies. Big seller even though the NNT for women is 250 in some studies. (200 must take the drug to help 1)

  • But with no government who is going to make sure that any of the options are good ones? Every company is trying to make a profit and if they can save a few pennies by cutting corners then they will, even if its dangerous for consumers. And there are some things that people HAVE to buy like food and water which were notoriously bad before the creation of the FDA. I am a capitalist, but I realize that a pure capitalist market is just as ineffective as a pure command market.

  • The jungle had to do with the horrible conditions of the meat packing industry. If it was bad without the FDA imagine what it would be like if we returned back to that era.

  • PETER SCHIFF for Senator 2010 !!!

  • Peter Schiff will win.

  • The Patriot Act turns our nation into the Soviet Union.

  • Peter,

Please mention a link where we can send you some money for you campaign. It would be great to have you as a US Senator!

    G-d bless,

    Craig X Rubin

  • I was thinking of opening an account, but now you can forget it.

  • No you weren't.

  • Peter.. what you should do is sell your services to congressman. Most of them are tax cheaters, so report them and let's see what happens...

  • I dont know whats so complicated about the Constitution.

Its not worded strangely, why can people in this country not understand the role of government?

  • I agree totally with what you are getting at but it is not that they do not understand it is that they are totally unaware. The simplicity of the constitution is what makes it great and free from the burden of lawyer speak and writing. Think about this, when you were young did you HAVE to take a class solely over the constitution ? I'll bet not. This is something that needs to be done. We have turned into an entitlement seeking society and a bunch of babies.

  • @hatchls1 You know it is so simple when you look at the fact that the two most heavely regulated entities are healthcare and education. They cost taxpayers the most and are are the largest failures. Should'nt we wkae up to the fact that the Government can't run anything efficiently. Medicare/medicaid waste $1 to every $3 it spends. Is that a plan worth expanding? Schools have to pass students to get federal fund so they dumb down the system which cost everyone.

  • @quizerry

erm, much of europe has government healthcare systems and it costs a hell of alot less, also got 0 bankrupt people in the UK france and germany combined a year caused by healthcare costs, how about the US?

Maybe the "regulations" are bad or wrong, might just be idiots stopping real government officials who want to get it working, afterall, in the country with the lowest avg IQ in the western world, thats got to be coming in somewhere.

  • They are all dealing with rising cost and are either rationing care or moving to free market incentives. Our high cost are due to Government regulations and mandates that benefit the healthcare industry at cost to consumers. The Government already sets the prices for 1/2 the healthcare sector directly and the other indirectly. They control production and consumption. They have done a lousy job of keeping down cost.

  • I agree, The gov't has failed at every attempt to do anything. Ron Paul says it best "The government has nothing so they can give nothing without taking it from someone else." Truer words could not be spoken. For some reason people in america think that the gov't is some mystical thing that derives resources from thin air and thus we rely on them to give us things. That is sad. Educational system is another thing that is beyond broken and is perhaps the most corrupt gov. institution.

  • Fox did a poll last year that ask where does the Government get there Money?

While 65% understood that the Government gets their money from taxes. The rest thought ouside sources or they didn't know. That is how sad our education system is. The Government has no MONEY. They do not produce a product or service they sell. So the Bigger a Government gets the higher the tax on the people has to be. Socialist Countries pay up to 60% of their incomes and up to 25% sales/vat tax.

  • Few things about that -- "How sad our education system is"... I'll ignore the typo on outside but "Their Money" is not the same as "there money." So I guess you are the model for that failure. Secondly, the government DOES make money in other ways, mainly fines and inflation. I haven't seen the fox poll so I'm not sure of it's validity but going on what you have given us, the other 35% were technically right even if that question or the sample pool was bogus.

  • I agree and see your point but just to make it a little more accurate our gov't does not get money from our income taxes per say. Our income taxes are consumed by gov't bank debt the second it is made and given. We are on the same page here though. The gov't has nothing.Obviously if you have nothing and wish to do smth'g, like pay for hlth cre, the money has to come from smewhr. That smewhr is the Fed. Res.Which the gov't then takes our tax revenues from us to pay back their gov't loans 2 the FED

  • isn't it amazing how much money you can make just by moving it around?

  • yeah, the richest people in the world, the bankers, do exactly and only that. Yes it is amazing and sad.

  • I would like to add that they do sell one thing, That is themselves. And we are buying it at the highest of prices with no return policy.

  • People in America think the government has a role to play because they live in the reality based community. You will never hear me say that every government endeavor suceeds, but to make such a blanket statement as to say that they have never done anything wrong is pure ignorance. Private companies used to provide things that are now public goods like roads, parks, and fire depts., but then we realized that makes no sense, so the government does it instead. The same is true for health insurance.

  • Repeal the PATRIOT Act. There's nothing patriotic about destroying the Bill of Rights.

  • @mark1m

this is the idiocy that goes on in this country.

this person does not understand the difference of the confinement the constitution puts on our government(which is the constitution). and the power not delegated to it; that is given to the states. just to be clear, do you think the state will give you the right to own anthrax?.. that is the real answer you should be asking.

  • amen, go constitution go.

Constitution says nothing about owning anthrax, so i should be allowed to own as much as i want.

  • I guess you like unsound analogies right?

Anthrax is not ARMS, it can only be used for offensive purposes unlike arms that affords people to have a secure nation free from tyranny.

Perhaps your argument is for the Nanny State?

I need no nanny because I am an adult, how about you?

  • WOOT HAPPY NEW YEAR PEOPLE!!!

  • great video

    happy new year

  • Want to see who is hiding behind the curtains?

Please, see my page's featured video and related playlist for critical, newly published expose on CAIR and the Muslim Brotherhood, et. al: "Muslim Mafia" by Gaubatz & Sperry.

We finally have proof we have been infiltrated.

    Documents do not lie.

They say the only thing that can stop them is for the American people to stand up and say, "No more!"

See my page's comments section for CAIR expose details and "PLAN".

  • The constitution is being violated. Now I think we should keep the patriot act for another 5 years or say. Granted some changes should be made like wiretapping. Make it they can't wiretap anyone at random.

  • white peoples time is up 2012 is about blacks melanin rules

pink and white people have no soul they are not the original man

  • Well that's just a little racist there MLEFUTURE.

  • @cpblackangel88

It's true, white people don't have souls.

  • Your a racist.

  • @cougher989 no everybody does have a soul except those in the goverment im convinced everybody in power has sold their soul for power

  • Flippen a million stars!!

  • euhmmmmm.. I couldn't post a comment?

  • lolz forget it.. now it worked.

  • the patriot Act is unconstitutional.. but Glenn Beck is a nut

  • The Stasi had 97,000 employees - more than enough to oversee a country of seventeen million people. But it also had over 173,000 informers among the population. In Hitler's Third Reich it is estimated that there was 1 gestapo agent for every 2000 citizens, and in Stalin's USSR there was 1 KGB agent for every 5,830 people. In Germany there was 1 Stasi or informant for every 63 people. If part-time informers are included, some estimates have the ratio as high as 1 informer for every 6.5 citizens.

  • what happened suddenly to Iraq?i see that health care is the new shit making the news in the USA,whatever keeps the stupid people's minds busy i guess

  • great vid

  • false flag attacks will continue - all security methods taken to remove your rights

prepare for the worst of things

  • Lizardgizzard2002

It is better to keep your mouth shut and thought of as a fool, rather than open it and remove all doubt.

  • this guy is wrong wrong wrong

  • this guy is smart ,, smart

  • really?

  • i'm not a Schiff fan, but he's right about the Patriot Act.

  • Brilliant! Thanks for Peter for telling it like it is.

    This is Fascism par excellence.

"the land of the free" is a fucking joke. It's an evil military empire, taxing the global population, stealing oil from poorer nations, genociding Iraqis and expanding their War of Terror by printing money and stealing from their own citizens.

The constitution was written in order to prevent this kind of power usurpation by the central federal government.

    This country is finished.

    history repeats it self.

  • schiff i now you have to use political talk to garner support for your campaign but I think it would be really cool if, once you get elected, you would tell everyone EXACTLY what you believe in and drop the political cover. That is after all your intention isnt it.

Because I have a feeling you weren't being truthful when you said "I am not defending tax evasion" and that would be a good thing because taxes are inherently extortion!

  • The patriot act stands for " Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism ". But...since its called "patriot"..people blindly accepted it. The "terrorists" will be people like Schiff and other opponents of the corrupt system; a blue print of Hitler's implementations.

  • xxxxxavatarxxxxx You are correct, it was not about slavery. History has been twisted so much no one knows the truth anymore.

  • lizzardgizzard, Why do I work with 6 Canadian doctors here in the US that has told us how bad your healthcare is. They bring their parents here to get treatment if you have great healthcare. LOL

  • my guess is that you are making it up lol

  • But you are a Neo-Con, so we're screwed if you are elected or not. I like Schiff, but Government will currupt him.

  • @sevenfights No, Government will not corrupt Peter Schiff because he is doing this for the future of his son.

  • Small town manipulation of the "Patriot Act" has run amuck. This act is designed to control the wealth in the US. "If you are not for us you're against us" was a message to the Republican Party to financially ruin those who were against their ideology, by what ever underhanded means.

  • ok thank you for the lesson. but whats the solution then?

political contribution, and lobbyist should be banned. that would solve about 95% of corruption in our government. term limits?

  • You hit the nail on the head Peter. Government sold the people out for its own gain, and continues to now. Interesting how government payrolls are increasing in such a bad private sector economy. Repeating history once again. Wish I didn't have to watch the downfall of this once great country.

  • @soloinpomona If we the people stand together we can make a vast change.

  • FORCED HEALTH CARE for everyone that voted for Barry I mean Obama

  • this guy is awesome!

  • What ever happened to states rights? I dont want to be considered some sort of anti-American but when did the federal government gain the power to strip the basic rights that our founding fathers had laid in place for all men. It seems that reform has to take place in order to create better checks and balances. We need to strip there power away and give it back to the people though state rights.

  • @brianheikes

    The civil war...

(slavery is wrong, but that's not what it was about)

  • Stop waisting our time!

  • @1111news

UFO's, I couldn't care less. I want to know why evidence was destroyed by the Global Warming cult that was protected by the freedom of info act

  • This much clear it is that USA gov is evil and American people r still thinking if this is consperisy theory or not, I think people won't wake until the day they find themselves homeless

  • my bank knows how i spend almos all my money. I suppose it's because of bush/congress (dems and repubs) They show it to me on my bank statement. Thank you bank for keeping tab on me. I called in to the bank one day and got interrogated by the rep about my spending habits. It's not a matter of govt. vs free market. The free market is in control of the govt. and it's aim is to keep the masses under corporate control via their proxies in the govt.

  • Thank you for exposing the TRUTH.

  • And to validate your point about terrorist funding. Was at a lecture about some research on terrorism once where they gave the following figures:

1000 USD - the price to train, equip and compensate the families of a suicide bomber in Palestine.

100 000 USD - the price tag on the entire terrorist plot and carrying out of 9/11

So if the banks have to report transactions over 10 000 then you could carry out 9/11 w/o triggering any alarms with 10 separate transactions.

    Very patriotic bill indeed!

  • Peter, it's obvious you have the cuckoos voting for you. The bunch who, even after watching all your blogs, still think that republicans are different from democrats.

But you seriously need to change your approach if you want the majority of voters to even listen to what you have to say. Maybe it's time to figure out exactly what it is that you would do in office and focus on that instead of bashing everyone around you. Thats not even rules of politics, just basic rules of rhetorics.

  • He's running on a platform of what he won't do. Because Government doesn't need to be doing anything. Innovation, growth and progress has always been the responsibility and function of America, not its government. It's time we returned to that idea.

That is the platform Mr. Schiff is running on.

  • I agree with you. After all he is running to join the party of NO. That is no ideas and no plans, but of course he will continue to fear monger, attack and of course invent conspiracy theories.

  • Has Schiff adressed his position on pre-emptive strike against Iran yet?

  • @stracinsrt4 He really needs to do that or it will bite him in the ass later.

  • Mississippi is going the way of New York

taxing sugar drinks more than diet sodas.

Next will be Big Macks (don't laugh)

this train hasn't even left the station yet.

Coming your way sooner than later....

Also a special tax being considered on LP gas and characole to discourage folks from cooking outdoors.

  • in Australia our government pays for our healthcare bills, so now it's their responsiblity to make sure we eat right and exercise. so they're imposing heavy taxes on ALL 'junk food', even higher taxes on smoking/alcohol and they're providing 'incentives' like tax breaks for people who join a gym and prove they're attending regularly.... oh my god, the nanny state is out of control. : (

  • it seems fair enough if your government is paying for the health bills. That's how costs are covered--the more unhealthy stuff consumed, the more you pay for possible health issues down the road.

I suppose you can try lobbying for legislation to opt out of the healthcare system, and instead pay your own healthcare, in exchange for exemption from taxes.

  • well our government doesn't really pay for them do they... we pay for them through taxes. i don't want some inefficient bureaucrat raising costs of healthcare, i just want to buy my own and everyone else can pay for their own, like it used to be.

  • admin overhead is far less in nationalized healthcare systems. it's some 20-25% of cost in US, far less in Eu and Japan where it's around 8%.

  • What's not fair though is that you have no other choice - They are forcing you on their healthcare plan and making you pay extra for using more of it. It's like if I force you to buy a car and require that you also buy insurance from me at ridiculous rates.

  • choice is ok if it leads to good quality, but that's not the case in the US. My company offers partial payment towards a number of inadequate policies with inflated administrative overhead (US is 20-25% admin overhead, compared to <10% in Europe, Japan, etc), and some bureaucratic ways to get partial tax breaks and reimbursements. I don't even want to get into how a doctor, under a private healthcare plan, wouldn't offer basic diagnostic tests that could have diagnosed my mother's cancer...

  • Freedom of choice invariably leads to quality, because, why would you choose something bad. In the US, the problem we have is that there is too much government in healthcare and people want insurance to pay for every little expense. The fact that insurance companies can't compete across state lines, are tightly regulated by governments in the US, and Medicare/Medicaid payments to doctors are much less than adequate all contribute to higher prices and lower quality.

  • This health care bill is a sham and a scam, just like everything any Democrat says.

  • thats bullshit lizard, canadians come here for quality healthcare and this is proven, take your neocon nonsense somewhere else, you are not welcome here

  • Comment removed

  • @peteralansisca WRONG how can people be so ill informed. Far more Americans come to canada for healthcare, cosmetic surgery and prescription drugs. Only a few of the very rich selfish ones go to the US. I take it that I am winning the argument since you are telling me to go home ,lol

  • Nancy Pelosi's exact response was "Are you serious? Are you serious?"

John Dennis, who's running against her in 2010, stated in his speech to the Silicon Valley Conservative Forum that after Pelosi lef the podium her chief of staff told the questioner "I want this for the record: that is not a serious question." The question asked was Madam Speaker, where specifically does the Constitution grant Congress the authority to enact an individual health insurance mandate?

  • All this spouting off about the constitution and this and that violate the constitution. If these Right wing conservatives are so sure the government is violating the Constitution, where are the law suits and decisions by the Courts? Oh, I get it it is just a crazy fear mongering conspiracy theory.

  • if you didn't notice, it was BOTH parties who voted for the patriot act. don't make this about right / left. Last i checked the ACLU was just as against the patriot act as the 'right wingers' you mention. Wake the fuck up you moron. Both parties are the same. It's not about left/ right.

  • @lizardgizard2002

I hope we start demanding that our constitution be followed. It is the only thing keeping us from becoming a socialist slave state.

  • @sirjames45 Now look at your statement. Isn't that the dumbest thing anyone has ever said on here?

  • lizardgizard you must be a moron! this will not improve healthcare or lower costs , it will raise costs, if you like this type of healthcare move to europe or canada, if u want to be on welfare it will not be on my back, your an idiot and a moron

  • @peteralansisca I am in Canad lol That is why I can comment. Canada has no problems, best economy, best healthcare, no right wing crazies, etc

  • @peteralansisca I can tell by your comment that you are one of those people that most of laugh at.

  • That is some scary stuff.

Thank you Mr Schiff for your honesty. You're doing a great job, it is greatly appreciated!

  • Each state has different laws. Does this violate the constitution as well?

Seems to me there's some kind of law that will justify the different laws for different states.

  • The Constitution allows each state to govern itself in the areas not reserved for the federal government. However, the Constitution also states that the federal government must treat all states equally, which is where this bill falls completely short.

  • Ok, thank you for your explenation.

  • I totally dropped at 3:06

"Why would we wanna do that?"

    Priceless
