I had absolutly no idea how to beat him at first, i was shooting those little orb things on his shoulders, but then i watched this video and it helped a bunch, that first archfiend gave me so much more trouble then the second, i died about 25 times on the first one and killed the second one after only dieing 6 times, so thanks for this video. if i had not watched it i would still be trying to shoot those stupid orb things. Thanks

Make sure the Piercing Void is on Level 3

And as for the Piercing Void which I used, DO NOT MOVE THE VOID! It automatically head towards the glowing orb; that works better for defeating the Archfiend 1 but still use your arrows; you'll use that in a final blow or something.

When I face the first form of Archfiend, the spot I hit first is the head; then you go for the blue glowing orb but watch out; he'll still puke all the thick, chunky blood out.

Phoenix Ninpo saves my life on this thing. Not only does it protect you from the phantoms, you can use the Essence thereafter for quick charges to shoot at the thing's face.

~If you want to get atleast one healing item before fighting the archfiend, the boss before him, dont use any nipo. If you dont, when you open that box you will get a herb. Not much but guess it helps.

Watch his arms to see which one he'll strike with, when he moans, prepare for the ghost thingies, and shoot him in the head, then the glowing orb.

Tip For For chpt 14 boss 3:

When the ghost things attack you shoot the glownig circle and the ghosts die.

It's still possible to beat him without it. I think you can block the swipe(If I can remember correctly(?)).

I'm playing on the tuner-screen(very small), and it's hard to see the cross-hair with the monster's texture behind it; matter of fact, I could only see it when aiming at the blue-orb...all the head-shots you see are from centering-guesses. And there were times when I hit it, but it didn't take effect because he was invincible in attack-animation.
