I used to camp with Buzz's parents back in the late 70's.....met the guys one night around the campfire. I was only 15 at the time (and a top 40/pop music junkie), and had NO IDEA who I was shooting the shit with. It wasn't until I hit 20 , and started working in radio, that I really started to appreciate the great talent this group had. Buzz left us far too early, but left a great body of work for us to enjoy.
outstanding canadain band , one of the few who where pure rock to the end, my dad was a promoter in the 70s and 80s they always were very cool guys who took the time to show me riffs here and their during set ups love them , saw them in 2004 with the new line up earl was still goin love his style of playin man
Saw these guy's with Buzz at The Penny Arcade in Rochester, N.Y. totally blew all the Moxy fanz away into guitar heaven that night !!. long live the summer of 1976 !!!. Billy Wade RULE'S.. Saw them again in 1978 at The Orange Monkey with Mike Reno during The Under The Light's Tour... Still Ridin' High with Young Leg's after all these years. Canadian Rock Rulezzzzzzzzzzzzz....
Well , how cool is this? Alex from Foot and Champion, Kim and Jim from Zon and Buddy and Earl from the original Moxy lineup. Living in Vancouver, we don't see TO legends like this everyday. The last time I saw Buddy and Earl was when they were opening for Triumph and the Gardens in Van circa 76/77. Singing then was Mike Ryonski aka Reno from Loverboy ! We wondered back then why Moxy wasn't the headliner! Cheers!
yea Buzz was another story... that tiny house of his with his 2 great Danes...when he started to put on a few pounds, he thought that if he didn't eat he still could 'drink' and still lose weight ... he sure did his Led Z with real Heart!... I was there working for them for almost 4 yrs
so many stories that I probably/might get sued. All and all t'was a-once-in-a-life-time experience. With those guys it was a 'story-a-night-thing.If I could do it all over again,I wouldn't change a thing!!!Monday to Wed. the bar owners wanted us gone, but come thurs.all hell broke lose with the L Zed set. Then they would beg for them to stay another wk or 2.LOL.Then we went to TEXAS!!! That IS ANOTHER STORY !
not the same song without Buzz Shearman on vocals. Used to see these guys at the old Picadilly Tube and Gasworks on Yonge Street in Toronto Canada in The 70s ripped on A's and whatever was floating around at the time.Fuck how time flies. R.I.P. Buzz
